The picture above doesn't show the holes.
Does the lifetime warranty cover that? Will you get a new one?

Actually, still looks like a metal disc, based on the most recent pic. The version I had was a metal disc with a number of pinpoint holes poked through it. You can't see the face of the discs in this pic, but the profile looks like we're still in metal town.So.. Uh. My VapCap actually broke like less than an hour after making that coil video. Luckily the bowl just caved in and I've got a replacement glass piece here. I see that those pictures are the newer design which got rid of the metal screen with 4 of the tiniest slits, in replacement of a glass screen with 7 holes.
Looking great and thanks @VapCap it definitely improves the airflow but risks for a higher particulate buildup.
I didn't know there was a warranty, though I'd gladly pay a few bucks to replace the glass.Does the lifetime warranty cover that? Will you get a new one?

Mine has been replaced with a unit with no metal screen.

A short update: there was no torch included in my parcel because of some silly import restriction in my country, so I'm an exception and not the norm, don't worry.
Yesterday I had friends at home and they pressured me to test the VapCap. I said the mouthpiece had a slight smell previously... well, now it's gone... but not as I expected! Due to human error, I combusted shortly after the second heating cycle... doh! That filthy disgusting taste! Had to clean everything thoroughly but now the mouthpiece has a hint of combustion smell...
I didn't expect the time between the "on" click and the "off" click to be so long, and the previous comments in this thread about BIC lighters being much slower were kinda misleading: it's not that slow to heat at all, and it lasts a good while between the two clicks. So if you didn't hear the "off" click, don't reheat too soon!
Today I did a second session on the gaz cooker this time (the BIC lighter tended to blacken the metal cap) It kinda worked but I need to improve my kung fu! The carb hole thing in particular is a bit counter intuitive at first... If you leave it wide open, you don't get much. But if you close it there's no flow at all. I'll keep experimenting, but I wonder why it's not made a tad smaller?
Or better, there could be a small one for air inlet and a large one for carburation (and to clear the device like a bong) This way you would be able to draw while fully covering the large one (via the small inlet) and when you are almost done you would open it to flush. Unless I got it wrong of course...
...
Well poop. Apparently a glass VapCap and me aren't meant to be.
I was using my finger and flicking the side of the VapCap to knock out the excess herb, somehow the entire bowl snapped off. I will take a picture of both broken pieces tonight.
Was hoping this was going to be a more positive lunch.
So sorry to hear about your guy's casualties, but on the flip side, it's making the wait for my Cocobolo Woody Ti a bit easier. I don't like losing the ability and feedback of watching vapor form, but the less risk of breakage seems like a good tradeoff.
I didn't want to risk pushing the herb into the glass holes or getting it finer and dirting up the glass, I am also not that fond of exhaling out the herb as its hard to blow it into my container safely.Sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure George can get you straightened out as the cap itself is the real gem.
I have never found any need to flick the unit. With a warm unit and the digger outter, it is easy to get out the spent herb. If the unit cools completely it can be a smidge tougher but worst case scenario for me a few extras seconds of scraping or i just blow into the unit mouth piece.
I have some good news for my fellow international VapCap aficionados. I think I have finally found the issue with the processing. Please give it a try and let me know if anyone continues to have challenges processing.
Also, I am fabricating parts as fast as I can and hope to get another shipment out by Friday. I sure appreciate the patience everyone has shown here as I've been getting these things ready.
Oh and here is a little treat I've been working on.
Not sure what to call this one.
But it is pretty cool how the Ti tip from the woody fits on it like it was meant to be, maybe it was designed that way?
Thanks @Ed's TnT
Cheers,
George

Just feather it, barely cover. You may be surprised by the vapor output even though it appears there isn't much when mixed with so much air. Draw fast when the carb it open
Well I was wondering which style of screen was going to be the best and then this. So sorry to see. Will have to be extra careful until woody arrives.
Try to just barely cover the hole instead of pulsing it. A very light touch is all it takes to partially close it somewhat.I tried pulsing the hole open/close but this led to too much air. Keeping it open yields even more dilution and is not satisfying. I know I will soon improve my method but I think my suggestion could make the device more user-friendly.
I can time out a hot click just right now. Where it clicks after I take the flame away. Hehe. The click helps out with timing though. It makes it mostly foolproof. It is hard to hear the clicks with background noise though. I have scorched a couple loads in my car due to listing to my music. Haha. I can't wait to try the WoodyTi!Remembered reading the mp fit perfectly in a male 14mm connection.
It does.
And it RIPS when it's filled with lovely hashish.
Seriously, this should catch on in hashish parts of the world. George @VapCap you should make tiny hash pouches to avoid a mess
It is a bit annoying that the HOT click is so much weaker than the COLD click.
