I also had a surprise waiting in my mailbox when I got hope yesterday!
Thanks @VapCap that made my day. Gave it a try last night and find that with the carb held closed it's like trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose. With the carb opened its like 90% air and 10% vapor, so that doesn't work.
I thought that maybe my first load was packed too tight, but not the case. Even empty the draw is super, super restricted. I tried not pushing the heat cap all the way on, but the draw was still the same and way too restricted. Is there something I'm missing, any way to adjust it?

The draw will be very restricted with the carb closed. I feather the hole and barely cover it. Try using it in direct sunlight where you can see the chamber fill with thick vapor every time you cover the hole.

I have gone back to feathering the carb but originally would just leave it open and never cover ala the intended reason for VapMan's air inlets. It is a preference thing, but now i only cover the carb for a second at a time and it is enough to increase temp and get some thicker vapor.

I actually feather any torch powered vape that allows it, it seems to increase temp slightly and increase air turbulence. Works great with the VC, VM, Daisy, and Lily. Can't really do it with the Lotus, Peace or Supreme right out of the box but the Supreme and Lotus do have ways around that for those who really want it, but it is not really needed IMO.

The Vapcap is an interesting vape so far for me. Not sure yet if it will find a permanent spot in my arsenal though…

What I like so far is the clicking feedback for the heating and cooling, its petite size, the shape and how easy it is to hold and use, the case, the small bowl… I even like the mouthpiece, I find it very comfortable and hadn't have any weird taste or smell from it so far. As for the vapor, it's cool, potent, thick and tasty clouds can be achieved!

What I don't like so much yet is how the vapor has to be pulled from the Vapcap. With the carb open, the temps get very high, the load is spent faster and tastes worst and there is minimum vapor production. I also don't get as high.
With the carb closed, there is almost no airflow and I have to kiss-suck it like a cigar with my cheeks to get the vapor going. The Solo with a stock stem (the older Solo) has at least double the airflow of this baby even with the stem pressed down in the oven! The vapor is tasty like this but almost too high temp. I wish there was something to be done with the airflow… Feathering doesn't work for me with such a tight draw.

This baby is more of an one-hitter than any vape I have tried so far. First heat cycle gets me a medium, aromatic hit which is rather potent and a wispier one but still aromatic. Second one gives me one thick hit that leaves a lot of taste in the mouth and a wispier one and third hit gives me a roasted thick one and a wispier one again. If I heat it again it gives me a very nasty tasting hit so I just stop there. If there is wind blowing and I am vamping outdoors, it might give another heat cycle or two with only one hit per heat cycle… Thee wind cools down the cap a lot.

I am still on the fence on this one… More testing is needed but for now it is a nice vape to have for a quick session and is quite discreet. I even managed to have a session in a bus and no one noticed anything due to the fast and easy heating. I still prefer my Vapman overall as a vape but the Vapcap is a nice backup and very very affordable. And also much smaller to carry around. So far, it's usually the Vapcap on the road for me and Vapman at home but not every time.

Cleaning is fairly easy, q-tips, ISO, hot water, all clean. The tube may be a bit more difficult as the q-tip is to big for the narrow part and some oil stains are left there.

Feathering the carb is the way to go with this unit. You get good hits and don't strain yourself pulling. I personally have had way more success using this over the VM but I probably have poor technique.

If you do not like the high temps when the carb is open, maybe try concentrating the heat more towards the tip. This will cause the cap to pop at a lower temp and will lower the temp of the load.

Edit. I soaked my VC last night and easily got it 99% clean with nothing more than ISO and rolled and twisted up little pieces of paper towel.

A clean VC is a happy VC. I like using a clean one in front of a mirror and really watch the vapor flow with and without carb covered... it gives you a deeper understanding of how the carb effects the heat and vapor air ratio. Cheers.

Already tried that, I noticed only minor differences…

The vapor is ok, I mostly mind about how it is pulled, how comfortable it is… I am getting used to the cigar method and sucking with the checks though. The vapor is very dense but also smoother this way. With the carb open it irritates the back of my throat a bit.

Thanks for all the feedback and the feathering method seems to be the way to go with this one.
This little thing can produce some big vapor with a little practice. The abv always comes out cooked evenly with no stirring needed.
It's fun to use and the click heater cap is just ingenious!
Defentaily will be working this little vape into my rotation.

Yes, need a version that supplies the vapor density of the carbed hit with the ability to draw air comfortably (and perhaps a larger bowl) and it would be the torch vape de jour. The design (small cig-like tube) is much more pleasing to me than other torch vapes I've used, if only because it looks a bit more discrete/compact/familiar (at least less conspicuous).

I'm still enjoying using the design I have, but my buddy should receive his soon. When it comes, I'll do a quick side by side comparison of the new inner tube and the older version I have.

So got some more wire and the first coil build worked (just a simple 4 wrap coil with the coil diameter as big as the VC), I will be redesigning it but it worked and worked well. Just a simple 10 second heat up from cold got it to temp. I foresee using the VC in my car to be a whole lot easier once the day is done.

This is awesome!

I've been designing the car adapter in my head and looking for the right components since shortly after the final shape emerged. This way it can be powered off the cigarette lighter, so still no batteries. It just wasn't a priority until there were units for sale.

I am on the couch recovering from a somewhat nasty flu or something that was rather painful and uncomfortable. So as I look through forum messages and think to check facebook, (I thought maybe I should force myself to use it more.) I had totally avoided facebook until I stated this project as I didn't think I had anything in my life worth sharing publicly.
