The stainless steel tips are fine, and I’m sure the airflow on the latest version makes it much closer to the Ti tip so you may not notice as much difference as you hope, but personally I’ve liked the Ti tip better since my first Omni and 18M.

Coming from the 19M’s tip, my guess is the adjustable bowl size is the biggest difference you’d notice though, so if that doesn’t matter to you it may not be an urgent purchase.

I’d still consider something with a Ti tip in the future either way though. Maybe an Omni when they get around to putting out a new design? :)

Just got mine in! Feels nice and sturdy in the hand. I won’t be able to use it until tonight but I’ll report back!

@Marcus-TGC I switched to a stainless steel CCD in my Ti Tip and it hasn’t been falling out when dumping the load. Perhaps my Ti CCD was just deformed. Although, I don’t know if they are exactly the same dimensions. I ordered a 3-pack of replacement Ti CCDs, so I’m hoping for a different result with those screens.

The draw on my 19 M with airport closed is tight but much better compared to the defective tip it shipped with. I've got it down now that I have a better lighter (Xikar Tech Single)…clouds for e v e r…and a Caldron is on the way! Had to make an emergency alcohol lamp after my two Aomai flints died in LESS THAN A WEEK. I'm bummed Dynavap didn't offer the 19 M in the builder with a Ti tip upgrade option. I don't love the idea of $40 for the tip and will probably keep it stock and save my pennies for the next version of the Omni.

The inside tool is terrific! I played around with shifting the CCD in the Ti tip multiple times, and each time it easily snapped into the next groove. Much better than when I used my condenser and it blew the screen clean out of the tip.

It looks and feels as premium as the Dynavap. The larger ends also works wonderfully as a tamping tool for the bowl. I highly recommend it unless you never adjust/remove/insert the CCD on your tip.

Also out of curiosity tonight I tried my fixed 2019 SS tip tonight. The airflow seemed identical to me as with Ti tip, with only the heat up/cool down times being different. For water use I far preferred the SS tip. I was able to get huge milky hits with a medium draw and keeping the airport half open.

I know I said a few pages back that the Ti tip is the most meaningful upgrade from the M, but after using this tip I don’t think that’s true anymore. I still think there are meaningful differences between the two tips, but I can no longer say the Ti is better, only different.

Machining overrun on the top fin and the screen won't stay put in the higher grooves. (yes I've tried different screens and yes they're perfectly flat.)
On the plus side they did send me a new wooden stem and both tips do stay put in that one.

Dude. That's not a "machining overrun".
I don't know about you, but all my caps cover that first fin, and the air's gotta get past that fin somehow, right?
I suspect that if they didn't continue that airpath through that first fin, then the airflow would be noticeably more reduced...and people bitch about the damn airflow enough already.

Hi Ramahs,

I'm not bitching about the airflow, the fins don't touch the sides of the cap anyway. PLus being a thinner metal, the cap probably expands with heating a lot more than the actual tip? My stainless tip doesn;t have a notch taken out, so when the 1st ti tip turned up with one, I questioned if it was a machining oopsie. No big deal. DV thought it needed replacing as it was a fairly sharp notch.

My main issue was the stem was too big for the tip, and a hot tip falling out into my groin area could cause me all sorts of problems, especially if I'm sat in my undercrackers.

thank you for the great write up. I am very pleased that you like the tool. It also works well for popping out the condenser. I never thought of using the fat pin as a tamper...thats a great idea. The fat end also works as a mini CCD flattener.

Remember to watch out around strong magnets...the fat pin is magnetic

Hmmmm...I’m not sure how you took that I was saying that you were “bitching about the airflow”. I was talking about others in the past, with other complaints. Plus, I was the one who brought up airflow in this conversation, not you...so I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion from what I said....

My apologies if I offended?

LHS (Local Hardware Store) is a quick and dirty solution for your circlips, also
Known in US as C-clips.

Home Depot. Lowe’s. Etc, if Rocky’s Ace is out of them.

(Wonder how the term “Jesus Clips” came about-unless you end up yelling “Jesus!” as
One goes flying off, to be lost, forever.)

I believe the OG glass VapCaps had a retaining clip.

In its evolution, the VC clips literally
Disappeared—and the screens replaced by a (slightly larger) metal screen. And scoring(s) in the
Tips.

The glass OG screens may have been fragile ceramic.

The design became simpler, and easier. :tup:

—Not so many cries of, “Jesus!”

Of course the teeny screens are still hard to find, when you accidentally drop ‘em when you pop ‘em.

I dont want to fix it my splinter then I'll get all confused again.

I like having only 1 vape that works, no thinking which one shall I use? is one vape better than the other or get me higher than the other.

Just want 1 vape that does the job and is an enjoyable experience which the omni xl is for me.
