If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Speaking of vapcap pride, I recently found my first vapcap (first round of vapcaps) at parents house, the full glass one with ceramic screen melted inside the body, a vintage object

my omni too is from first run of omnis (beta ones, my first and only beta vape i ever ordered)

I am so committed I was also amongs first vapcappers using a IH (before @Pipes started selling them)

Very proud and glad to be part of this comunity, Vapcap Rocks!

While I like having the historical perspective and owning several different tips, I am pretty confident that each tip was an improvement over what came before, and the current Gen6 tip is the best I have used. That being said, all of my tips perform well and the difference between them is not huge while still being noticeable.
If I were looking to buy a used VC I would not be discouraged from buying anything from Gen4 (7fin) on. I think many still like the Gen4 best, tho I do not.
I am happy with the performance of all my tips as well... my interest in the og 7 fin tip is the rugged aesthetics.
I love the look.

Hey, there lovely people!!!
Ι hope everyone's enjoying the summer in one way or another! Been gone for work/vacation and I finally got to see how fast this thread grows! It took me a while to catch up, but I did!

So... I've had the chance to spend 20 days on a small, gorgeous volcanic island (the perks of my job). I spent most of my time in a very old resort, sort of like a spa, right next to the sea. Of course, I brought along a few of my vapcaps and plenty of flower to last through my entire stay.

I decided I would only get my 3 aomai lighters, even though I suspected they would be quite challenging to use outdoors. And they sure were. I really did put both the lighters and my ti tip to the test, as I spent so much time outdoors and in windy situations. I did char my flower 3-4 times before I really got down a new technique for outdoors. Yes, the sunlight can be a bugger and really make the flame invisible, something I discovered early on. I remedied this by finding dark backgrounds and placing the flame in front of them. (not a huge change, but makes enough of a difference for me. Also memorizing the lighter's flame position can prove very handy.

The wind is tough to beat especially while the cap's on cooldown. That's where the trouble starts I think. The cap takes too long to click because the wind keeps cooling it down, however, the tip does get hot and with every consecutive heat up cycle, you can really lose control of the temp and really f*#$ your flower up if not careful. My workaround was to try and use my body posture and my backpack as some sort of wind protection or find spots that would again reduce the wind's force on my cap. Also I did set my aomais' flame a few notches higher so the wind wouldn't blow the flame out. In addition heating, the cap closer to the top rather than the middle helped with the late click and the charred, or even combusted at times, flower.

So I did get to use my vapcaps outdoors when windy, however, it does take a lot of tweaking of technique. Sometimes frustrating, I must admit, but not enough to make me give up or change my mind for this device. And yes I managed to make it function in windy situations 8 outta 10 times.

And now for some real love. Again, I have to exclaim in awe of how discrete and functional this device can be. I used it in so many different scenarios and every and each time no one seemed to even know a thing. Its smell is so different from that of a joint that most people, even experienced "potheads", don't even blink (unless I up the temps a bit too much of course, then they know). The whole 13 hour trip on the ship went by like a breeze thanks to my vapcaps. My vacation time went by smoothly and my vapcaps highlighted every moment in the best way, even when frustrated by the wind. I must say though, joints were extremely frustrating during windy days as well. I guess an IH can be quite helpful for these kinds of situations

In a couple of days, it will be 6 months smoke-free and I have this device and this very supportive community to thank for. Every aspect of my life has been enhanced by the vapcap in the most surprising ways. For me that's why this device is so unique and why everyone (ok almost everyone) loves it so much and keeps buying more and more of them. It's pretty, tiny, functional, easily stored, easily cleaned, a conversation starter (yes, I preach the good word of vaping when given the chance and my beautiful vapcaps are the reason), helps with saving up flower, can be used with water very easily and has been the biggest help for so many people to kick the habit of smoking and saving their lungs. Yes other devices can do that too, but none of them seems to have the heart and soul of a vapcap (what you didn't know vapcaps got souls?)

Ok, end of long-ass post! Cheers!

Nope. No tears Elliot.

Cut my jeans short, scuttling across the sea floors for the summer.

No Prufrock, either. Let us go then, you and I.... :luv:

That is not what I meant, at all....

Has anyone cut grooves into the steel tip and noticed an overall improvement?

The same day I got it, there was no airflow otherwise at all, the flat tip just pulled flush against the flat inside of the cap and sealed shut.
Huge difference, I've been assuming the lack of grooves was a fault because it doesn't work without them, with them it's awesome.

I've had mine for nearly a week now I still think it's great but I'm getting torch fatigue.
I can see that the vapcap is a great thing for using out and about or for quick tokes during the day but I'm an evening session sort of person and all this blazing is getting a bit much.
Yes I need the induction heater!
