Do you cough still when vaping vs when you combusted?

I crumbled some nice Moroccan between a pinch of bud in my Ascent, it tasted horrible?

Yet I know the hash tastes lovely when combusted, I broke my G-Pen burning it!

Would be interesting to see what squidgy black tastes like, if I ever get my hands on some again.

I love the tickle too. That's what it's all about for me. Used to love it when combusting but was rare for a joint to make me tickle. Haven't seen squidgy black for ten years. And I don't miss it. I can still get very high quality hash/pollon. Comes in 3.5 oz bars. Wierd i know. Doesn't need burning just pulls apart and Is lovely yellow colour. Mmmmm I want some now. But it is nothing compared to the hash I made last night using iso extraction on all my trim. Was like glassy amber. Absolutely beautiful. Kept me high for 4 hours from 3 hits.

I've only tried vaping flowers so far.. and a tiny bit of reclaim from my Mighty.

I've only ever purchased what was advertised as 'pollen' once many years ago and it was beautiful stuff.
Lovely pale colour, really soft, shaved it with a blade rather than heating it. The flavour was out of this world and it was the strongest stuff I had ever tried.

Anyone remember the awful 'slate'? Lacked any kind of resin and was really weak as shit.

Squashy black never really impressed me as I found it to be too heavy, red seal/gold seal/golfball etc. I preferred the old 'rocky' as my daily smoke


I'd like to try some extracted concentrates... one day maybe.

If you are brave enough you can order the pollon that I get, to your door using bit coins and tor network or some alternative. It's risky business but it's worth it for the experience of the royal mail postman bringing me my hash in the morning blissfully unaware or the goodies he's delivering. Always have a smile on my face when I take the package labeled computer parts, only open in sterile environment. Don't do it very often as I'm worried about it. Comes from Canada. You should look into it. Up until the point of you touching package, it has no connection to you..
But I have had a letter from customs telling me to collect my package. So I stopped it since then. But did it for a couple years no bother.

You are in similar boat to me. I am uk too and only started vaping 6 weeks ago. Made me realise uk draw is not good. Hard to find something that's cured properly. That makes most of it harsh in the vape in my experience. Since harvesting my own crop I now realise how much vapour I should have been getting. And not have to worry about it being laced with sugar water or glass. Vaping will not catch on here until the cannabis is taken from the hands of criminals and put into the hands of people who care about quality.

I had some very nice Chocolope and Holy Grail recently. Currently I'm vaping a little bit of Sunset Sherbet, Great White Shark, and (Purple) God Bud.

All the hash talk has me wanting some nice full melt. When I first starting hitting dispensaries hard around here there was a lot of great, super potent hash. BHO and other extracts have taken over since then for the most part, however, which is okay (some of the stuff is just phenomenal, although expensive). Pressed pollen can still be had sometimes, but I couldn't use it very effectively in the EQ I used to use. I'd like to have some now that I'm using the EVO. I could get it for $20/g, but I would need to spend more than that to justify delivery from a club I don't really favor (am I showing how weed-spoiled I am? sorry, just rambling).

I have also found the first hit(s) of the day to most often cause coughing. I think I coughed quite a bit when I first began vaping from a combination of dry vapor and not yet knowing how much I could take. I still didn't cough like I did when combusting, however. Once I added a water tool to the EQ it was pretty smooth sailing. With the EVO I pretty much only cough from maxing out a rip.

Interesting, I haven't smoked for weeks now, don't feel any different, perhaps I'm not coughing up so much green shite in the mornings, but it was never that bad anyhow.

First thought is it's just your body doing some spring cleaning, but if it persists or gets worse, I'd go see a doctor about it. Not sure what the quacks are like in the UK regarding vaporising?

Ha yeah, I fight the cough as well and try to hold it in to save my throat, but after years of hitting bongs, it's the irritation and tickle in the lungs I actually kinda look for and almost enjoy now.
I eased into it this evening with a bowl of Golden Lemons in my Mighty/bubbler (while I wait for the EVO to heatsoak), but it still has me slightly breathless

I gave up smoking cigs in 2013 and haven't combusted since June but I still cough up some tiny dark specs every now and then. If it's got any colour to it, as @1DMF says, you might want to go see the doc.

I'm wondering if there are some compounds in cannabis that some people are allergic to.

My sister and boyfriend came to visit this weekend, they have both given up smoking for over a year, ever since he had a serious heart attack cause by heavy smoking.

They both are now glued to their e-cig constantly so I asked him if he had given up weed, or simply combusting, he confirmed it was simply combusting and so tried out my new vaporiser with GonG water tool adapter.

Instantly he coughed, which apparently he hasn't done for months since giving up smoking (he had a really bad smokers cough)

He started quizzing me "Are you sure this doesn't combust", exclaiming how he hasn't coughed like this since smoking and it must be smoke causing the coughing.

I showed him the ABV and assured him it wasn't smoke (I had it on 385F)

My sister then commented, how much he used to hack when he used to hit the pipe with pure weed in it.

The next day (Sunday), he decided to try the vaporiser again and instantly his 'smokers hack' came back.

We are now of the opinion that there may be a compound being released in the cannabis that he is allergic too, as there is no way it is smoke related - it isn't combusting!

I never really combusted much directly, I would get awful throat burn and cough like mad, feeling like my lungs were filled with needles and acid. Instead, I would mix in with shisha and smoke it through a hookah, rarely ever had coughing fits even with Tangiers unwashed shisha (while my friends who were seasoned tokers would cough like mad from this).

While vaping, if I pull deeply or at a high temp, I will still regardless of the different devices I use.

I had a traditional morning bump start the lungs cough when I combusted, along with the black content that goes with it,then cough my way intermittently throughout the day, knocked the smokes on the head three months ago ,Now no morning cough, don't wheez whilst lyin in bed anymore, no more black content ,taste buds returned , smell smokers yards away further if they're downwind.
It's been an absolute joy so far I dont suffer any coughing at all but as an ex pipe smoker (so many variations over 40 yrs,and only hash or grass, no tobacco.) I have had to refine my technique as I go and I suppose that could be part of the issue here. I could take big hits on a pipe or bong and I liked a bucket and suppress a cough whilst combusting, some of the team would cough thier guts up, in my view poor technique, It's maybe not a question of how much makes you cough in the first place as opposed to how you get it in there in the first place is making you cough. I'm not sure that makes sense?
So for me herb or home made E juice no coughing now I've converted to vaping and that goes for high temps as well,

I don't think it's technique or allergies for me. Any smoke going into my lungs leaves me coughing and choking so much that it takes days to recover. Without vaping I wouldn't even attempt marijuana. Still, it doesn't matter what material I use or what vaporizer, I still cough. The cough is more tolerable than that with combustion or it wouldn't be worth it for me. There are a couple of stems that help reduce it a bit (the long turbo for my air) and water makes a significant difference.

i've been vaping the same few genetics for a couple years now. they rarely make me cough and usually just the first bag or 2 of the day. i got a few grams of different genetics at the pot store ( ), and every one of them made me cough. from the first hit to the last. i use a bag to vape.

i noticed that every gram, although nice looking and smelling, was dry enough that they would turn to powder in the grinder. like if you smell it some will be snorted into your nose. that's dry. i always keep my pot at 62% humidity and it doesn't turn to powder when ground up. i'm wondering if it's the dryer pot that is making me cough. of the 7 genetics i've tried, one is as good as my best, another is as good as my 2nd best and the rest are ok to good, but nothing i would buy again.

i've been vaping at 392 f and dropped it back to 375f because my throat is sore from all the coughing over the last few days.

i'm going to get some more girl scout cookies, it was the best and i'll put some moisture back into it. like the good old days.

I only seem to cough when vaping at higher temps as it seems to dry my throat out. Using a bubbler helps!

what is the humidity where your at? I would recommend getting a big dehumidifier and try to keep your place a bit drier . Here its also hi and I can pull almost a gallon of water a day from the air.
( you can add uv lights too to remove the germs)

Well I like tasting as much flavor as I can without coughing. So just really strong, but feeling good still. No irritant in my lung, but nice and full. I can get that dry or with water depending on settings. I like doing a full run of temps with my Haze adding water to the higher ones. I take a few dry and wet pulls with my Underdog. The mix of wet and dry keeps me from coughing and I get the best mix of flavors.

Any coughing fits for me are very rare, even when I was combusting full time (~6 weeks ago!). I coughed 1-2 times upon getting my d020 but can't recall any other time I've coughed vaping. Smoking was much the same, only time I'd cough was on unfamiliar glass.

Kinda sucks honestly. It always seems you get off more when you cough, it used to happen a lot more when I smoked cigarettes.

Sorry to hear that. I know of a good medicine that treats many ailments.
If I am sick and cannot vape then I would make brownies. Cannabis has antibiotic properties. And anti oxident and anti decongestant. That's gotta help right?

I have a SSV I use rotationally.
My LSV was powerful and made me cough.

A SOLO is cheap and mellow. level 4 usually.
A "Q" you can adjust the temperature with a digital display.
The LOG vapes are mellow.
I have a NANO I set to 6.0 - 6.3 depending on the cure?
My VAP2 is cheap however the flavor blows expensive vaporizers away.
Sometimes I chase flavor.

Or try using your SSV at a lower temp?

If the CANNABIS is not cured correctly? ( too dry)

62% is my target!

Water Path is my preference!

Yes, I still cough when I get a hit that is too large- even from my vapes. FAR less than combustion.

I also used to get hardcore bronchitis when i used to smoke (2 packs of cigarettes a day and probably 1g a day, at least). It happened twice a year, like clockwork, and I would require antibiotics, codeine/opiate cough syrup and a bunch of other OTC meds.

Since changing to ONLY vaping herb/nicotine liquids, I have yet to get bronchitis. Fuck combustion.

Honestly I wish I could harness coughing, it seems to inexplicably get me super baked.
