DaVinci IQ2 & IQ3

Oops, clearly missed this. Thanks!
I personally think they should be combined since the threads (iq2/iqc) don’t get a lot of traffic, but are basically the same.
But I’ll do whatever @Stu says!
Yeah, definitely agree there since there’s basically no difference between those devices, but they’ve been separate since the IQC’s release. Would be nice to combine them though.

Remember being scolded by a Davinci rep on this forum for saying that the IQ2 could be more than just a sipper. Like others have said, maybe the larger 21700 battery was needed for a more powerful heater to attract those seeking a more robust vapor experience (ripper).

Enjoy my convection vapes, but their is just something special IMO about the Davinci IQ2's over all quality and portability that keeps it in high standing in my collection. Looking forward to the early reviews for the new IQ3.

I agree they could all have been combined, but I think it was DaVinci that made the choice for them all to be separate? Nice incremental upgrade it seems anyway!
I'm fine with a combined thread for both since they are so similar. I'll merge the threads.

With dosing capsules it should be possible to use the IQ3 with much less than 0.7g I assume?

Here is comparison of their different models:

I haven’t used mine in awhile, so took it out last night. Ended up needing to give it a major cleaning, will re-familiarize myself with my IQ2 tonight!

I dunno, never liked using the IQ2 with capsules because it hurt airflow quite a bit. Hopefully someone will break down and try it out soon!

Have you tried using the zirconia/glass spacers with the IQ2? Do they similarly restrict airflow for you? Definitely looking forward to someone’s hands on experience, I’ve blown probably my vape gadget budget for probably the next year or so already.

Also noticed from that chart that they seem to have fully replaced the IQ2 with the IQC. Sad, but not too surprising

It’s been awhile, but yes I have tried with the glass spacers, and it also hurt airflow.
When I give it a go later tonight/tomorrow, I will pull out the spacers and retry.

Figured! Makes sense, airflow was never my complaint with my IQ2 since I usually just sip on mine, but I also don’t use it often and have never used it without at least a spacer in place.

The zirconia spacers are so nice, I don't think I ever even tested out the glass ones? I think I have them too... I only have the OG capsule, not the newer metal ones, but then never really interests me honestly... However using the spacers doesn't seem to affect the airflow really, what effects it is how you pack of course (and for me that is usually quite tight especially with a spacer so opening up the airflow dial can be especially nice then)

Try hard noob
I've seen the IQs get some slack when compared to "proper" vapes like the TM2 or Venty. But there are some really nice things about them IMO. They're great for carrying around, robust, discreet and easy to pocket. The filling area is lovely too, it just guides all the material into the oven and I rarely spill anything when filling it up. I really liked the airflow control too. And while they take a while to get going they are pretty decent once they do.

What I really like about the Davincis is that they are the only ones i got that i can vape like a jolly, means that the hybrid/convection ones are more direct hitters compared to the MTL vaping with conduction vapes.
I have asked Davinci about the Capsules and they wrote that the IQ2 Dosing Pods are compatible with the IQ3. So i think that the Diameter of the new Oven is not that much greater.
A plus for me is the 21700. Would be fine if the 30sec heatup would work as the heatup with the IQ2 is more on the 100sec side here.

Any info on whether this will be easier to clean? I never went for these because I’ve heard cleaning is a real PITA. That being said I love my pax 3 and i think this will likely be right up my alley

The IQ2 straightened the air path & made it much easier to clean ~3 years ago fwiw. And the IQ3 looks good there too

Feels like the IQ3 is not very popular. It's out a while now yet almost no reviews are available. Hopefully by Black Friday there will be more reviews around. While I am really interested in it I am more inclined to buy the Solo 3 instead with the current information available.

If you need reviews I don't think there is anything too groundbreaking with new IQ3 compared to the IQ2? If it really appeals to you, I would go for it, and then let us know what you think here! S3 is quite different, so it's possible that might appeal to you more, but I wouldn't let the reviews guide you :2c:
