Hi evrabady...bwade rollin in from Denver havin' some fun with daisy all of course in the pursuit of happiness and sound mind.
I contacted Tommy a few weeks ago about the daisy, after dude and rudes reviews I was keen to see what all the fuss was about and with my hammer having a fit with the altitude here in colorado Tommy said his unit should work fine here.
Well I ordered,Tommy delivered and its crankin and im enjoying the ritual.
Ive only had her 2 days so bear with me this is first impressions only but I assure You good testing is being carried out haha.
the look the feel and the instant vapor the daisy produces is magic. The experience is intuitive and You get involved with this vape, and with the butane powering her,she has a plenty of oomph.its not really so portable as other portables.like i would nt head downtown to the park and machine gun vape with daisy on a busy day.She is going to get lots of interest.
I see daisy as a always ready coffee table desktop or a portable vape you could take to work or to a friends place, its going to get lots of interest wherever You take her.Good news too that the daisy is a vape anybody could pick up and use straight away with little knowledge of vaping...she is a big girl p,just fits fully into one hand.
Comparisons : i havent had enough time to make a proper judgement yet.
The only similar direct butane inhalation unit Ive used is the Vaporgenie coil which on the road gets the job done,is a lip burner, short airpath. The VG coil has a piece of volcanic rock in the airpath so I cant say its completely similar.the daisy is in a different league to the Vg coil.
back to airpath design daisy has a longer airpath which means cooler vapor.the whole experience is simple, effective and intuitive.I had wood taste in the background on the first draw similar to the vapman.then that was it.nice flavour all around since then.the daisy feels so natural to hold and use.the mouthpiece is tailor made and fits its purpose well.
The nearest direct draw convection vapor experience it reminds me of is maybe the vaponic.nice flavour & the vapor is so cool .You gauge the vapor production looking directly down on the mouthpiece similar to a waterpipe .Taste also plays its part and the slight dryness as it kisses the back of youre throat.very smooth experience.
The whole experience feels similar to vaping with a dry waterpipe.the throttle hole in the base of the daisy adds to that takes me back to good times and is welcomed.
The Daisy Package:
The Daisy & accessories are well packed and it feels like You get a lot of bang for your'e buck.the wooden grinder is a nice addition as are the brass tweezers. The walnut main piece is chunky, sharp and clean and looks CNC cut,She, Daisy looks awesome on a coffee table. The glass tubes intake and mouthpiece are mega thick.he wood burned logos and the glass finish her off nicely. She has been designed to last a lifetime.
I would' nt say daisy would be good for air travel because its going to be hard to clean the airpath completely unless you immerse the blocks but Tommy wont recommend that I m sure.
I have plans to deep clean, split and send some pieces home by post just to be careful.
Ive asked about making tubes from Stainless steel for back up in case a clumsy friend drops the glass ones.Tommy was responsive and has mentioned hes tested stainless tubes with similar performance to the glass versions.to be honest id always use the glass versions if i had them.they add to the experience and i expect the clean taste too.
FYI the heat intake stem is quite loose in the wood. You do need to be careful when removing the wood bowl top to stir or cache the bowl just in case the heat stem slides out.I might look for a high temp O aring to hold it in there as its not necessary to remove it during use.there is a ridge for an oring to sit there.
Vapor production
I noticed in Tommy's first video that vapor production was super quick and thick. So that and the wooden waterpipe style design got me interested for sure.
Im getting vapor within 3 seconds.much quicker than my lotus There is good but simple physics at work here.the heat is drawn directly wide then narrows through a much smaller hole which agitates the heat before it reaches the bowl.no dark spots here in the bowl after a hit as others have stated.
Vapor produced through Daisy is clean or at least feels like that.No butane taste at all.It will be interesting to note any effects from direct inhalation of CO2 from the lighter flame if any.but so far so good,i havent woken up with a hack.i did wake up a bit cloudy today but that may be down to the flu like altitude sickness I m experiencing here in mile high city.either way I've found a perfect cure for altitude nausea.
finally there is Tommys communications. This company are first class to deal with.I have had quite a few comms over the past few weeks and all replys were prompt and helpful.so cheers TriiKLe!
Anyway until next time.....Washington state here I come!
Heres a shot i took on my way back to the hotel tonight, yards off the main drag in Denver for You daisy folks.
its looking real good in Denver right now.Props to everyone involved here making it happen.
