I also had this phlegm issue and the DBV was my first vape. I loved it!! Then I found the clould ;) Do you smoke cigarette's? If so that is most likely the cause of your phlegm issue.

Thank you EveryDayAmnesiac, max, and VapeNStone for your replies and suggestions.

While I love Da Buddha, i put in the order before I found this site, and I probably would have got an E-nano instead if I had found this site a few days earlier.

Does anybody know of a way to decrease the diameter of the bowl? Possibly some kind of adapter, or alternate gg fitting?

Besides not having to buy herb any more because I am a professional trimmer, vaporizing is the greatest thing since Thai sticks.

New owner of Da Buddha here, some questions.

The first time I used it, picked it up sideways and some of the herb fell down into the heating element. That was a pain.

Second of all I have some questions about technique. I'm filling my bowl about 1/4 full. I'm almost starting to feel that I could use less than that. Thoughts?

Thirdly, I just used my Buddha now, and ended up with smoke(!). The sudden surprise made me cough, and you know how that goes.

This is what I've been doing: Fill bowl 1/4. Turn heat to maximum, let set for about 2-3 minutes. Turn heat to "noon" and then vape. I intake so that my lungs are full at about 8-10 seconds.

After doing this a few times, I mix the herbs up a bit. I then turned the heat to 1 o'clock.

At this point I got the smoke, so I obviously did something wrong there. Is it not good to turn it up a bit near the re-vaping?

Is there a FAQ about this anywhere? :tup: I feel like I'm not doing something right, and not to mention I feel like I'm going through more herb than I should be. Ty.

just sounds like to me that you need to adjust your draw speed. When you put it at noon try drawing just a little bit faster to help cool down the heat just a tad. That way you should be able to get your hits in 6-8 seconds rather than 8-10. It took me a few months to really dail in my DBV. So just keep playing with the heat and how fast or slow you draw. I'd agree with Mark. Experiment with different draw speeds and temperatures. I think 1/4 is a good amount to use and I think your technique is solid. Personally, I start at lower temps, like 10-11. You don't get as much visible vapor, but the taste is better.

Can I ask, about how many hits should I expect from one bowl? I've been hitting a 1/4th full bowl and I still am getting vapour and the taste of the medicine. How will I know when it's done? I'm used to combustion so this is hard to tell. :p

You'll know youre done when the vapor stops.... or the meds are dark brown... or the taste is getting bad. (Whichever of these occurs to you first is a sign)
Use less meds if you want to.. small amounts work well.

I keep going as long as I'm getting vapor. By the time I'm done, maybe around 12-12:30 on the dial, volume is less than half the original bowl and abv is chocolate brown. If its still light brown I know iI can get more out of it. Too dark and I know the temp is too high, for me anyway.

I've found that you can literally fill the bowl with herb that covers the screen just a tad, and it gives about 5-7 good hits. I'm really medicated right now :smug:

Sorry my english is poor...
To decrease the size of the bowl I use a custom wand made by a local glassworker
The size of this one is 14mm (19mm for the standard ) and I put an adapatator 18->14 in the headcover to use it. this new wand is like the old style 7th floor wand. (with a restriction to put the screen )
With this it's possible to get big vapor clouds than the same quantity in a standart wand. I think I have this result because I increase the thickness of weed on the screen (maybe).

if you read all this thread you can find other means to decrease the size of the bowl (use an arizer screen for exemple )

If I can't visibly see any vapor does that mean I'm doing something wrong? I feel like I'm not doing something right, or at least not doing it nearly as efficiently as I should be.

Okay, I turned it up to about 1'oclock and the heating element got red. It was definitely vaporizing then. ;)

WRONG, Since sathurday I have done news tests to compare custom and original wand.
The problem isn't thickness on the screen.
When you put very small quantity in the the bowl, after few minutes weed falls and the screen isn't totaly covering. It's this which make poor clouds !

Sorry for the false informatio...

Otherwise this custom wand work marvelously with (very) small quantity

When you get that much accumulation it acts like a magnet for vapor and efficiency suffers. There's a lot to be reclaimed there. When you get it all cleaned up (especially if you replace the tubing), watch out for your first hit. It should pack a punch in comparison.

I just scrapped mine last night, I got so much reclaim! I threw it back in my vape over cotton and I couldn't even finish it :lol:

it's the bottom to a flower pot, it has practically the same radius as the base of the DBV so it pivots quite nicely when misaligned. Also, yeah i know i need to clean that thing out... ive got a thermovape revolution (for concentrates... which works pretty decently with the wand hash) and the last time i did clean it out i ended up with such a huge amount i still have not burned through it lol...

sometime's that is all the motivation i need to clean it out... other times im too lazy or vaped to want to bother with it...

Wait, you can put cotton in the vape? Could I do this for compressed keif or what would be the best way to vape keif? Any replies are appreciated guys and gals. thanks

yes you can put cotton on the vape.
Layer your kief between meds.... or on top of (not right up on the screen)
I sometimes if the kief is extra melty use a bed of abv.
