Da Buddha

Hello everyone,

Quick question, have any of you tried hitting an extreme Q elbow in a dbv without the whip? I have been using mine with the wand and no whip and was thinking that an elbow would work better than the wand. It is smaller, the domes would allow a smaller bowl and the 90º angle would help reducing the amount of flying particles to your airways.

And using two dome screens would provide a diy ELB as well, i'm suposing.

If someone is willing to give it a try, i would love to hear your thoughts about it.
I saw a video somewhere in this thread that showed someone doing exactly that. I couldn't tell you where in here it was but I do remember seeing it.

I remembered bleak has an awesome video using is buddha with an arizer elbow, btw love your image bleak, continue with your videos and etc.. ;) As i was saying, i decided to search for elbow on this thread and i just went through almost all the mods done in the DaBuddha so far. Nice. :D

So, we got:

1- DBV wand + arizer dome screen
2 - arizer elbow + arizer dome screen
3 - SSV HC custom fit to the DBV (wichever you chose)
4 - SSV HC custom + VB mini whip

Plus some variations of this, :)

Advantages:

1- more efficiency + more even roasting (no odd black bits)
2 - same as above + can be used dry (needs testing)
3 - taste and thickness like the SSV + if it's the GonG can be used with an arizer elbow dry
4 - more efficiency + more even roasting (after proper technique, it is not the same)

So, lot's of findings, but most people only used the elbow with water, but i got the feel that dry would not be that harsh. ;)

Hey guys, ordered my Green Saturn Vapor Tamer and I am so stoked to receive this unit. Placed the order this past weekend, but still haven't gotten word from 7th floor that my unit shipped. I chose the USPS shipping option, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.

To anyone that has ordered a Vapor Tamer, did 7th floor ship fast? They said that all of the parts I ordered were in stock, so I'd imagine it shouldn't be too big of a deal, but they do give a disclaimer that orders take 3-5 days to ship, and that time has already elapsed on me.

Did 7th Floor follow up with an email stating that your order shipped?

I just kind of need to know so that I can be home to receive the shipment.

Hey guys, first time poster and first time vape user/owner. I bought the DBV because of this forum, and pretty much everywhere saying it was incredible. I got it on Thursday of last week so not even a week yet. Anyways been reading this thread (on page 74, started at 1) and I truly thank every single person who has posted on here. You guys have helped me so much in trying to figure this thing out, and I am not 100% there yet but I am definitely on my way and just wanted to say thank you! This thread has been so informative and really appreciate everyone chiming in with tips, tricks, accessories...its been an amazing time reading this thread. Wish everyone the best in the new year!

Okay I have burned through this entire thread and still need some help. I got my DBV brand new and looks like everything is working good. It turns off around 6:30-7:00 and the "click on" is 8:30ish and the max temp is 4:00. Okay so I turn it to around 11ish and let it get plenty warm and grind up (4 piece grinder) .2g and then suck up .1g in the wand. I pack it down lightly and maybe I am packing it down too hard but if its not packed in good enough then it just falls sideways when plugging in. At 11 o'clock I can taste it and it gets very light/golden brown color but no vapor. I feel a slight buzz but nothing huge and so I keep increasing at 12pm I will get some vapor but not a lot and at 1pm its combusting. My breathing technique is breathing like you are not breathing in at all...and thats how I get vapor at 12 but its barely any vapor and if I increase my breathing I get nothing but it seems to turn light brown very quickly at 12 so do I just need to increase my breathing at 12?

The reason I am asking about 11 is that I was told if you are tasting it even if you are not seeing vapor you are good, is this true? Sorry if I am bringing up stuff that has been discussed just feel like I am burning so much at this point I need to figure this out before my stash is gone. Thanks!

Do not tamp the herb down at all..
Start sucking while wand is upright, and smoothly in one motion slip the wand in place... and keep inhaling.
The herb will stay in place that way.
I would start with dial at 2 pm.. and a half wand.
I would breath fast since the heat is so high.
Long and deep.
Slow the inhalation only if the vapor is not there for you.
Dont raise temp ... just try slowing inhale at first.
As far as visible vapor at 11 on the dial....
Even if not visible, f you taste it and it tans, you are getting some low end THCs... that are lighthearted, and usually pleasant but you can do more. You may need to practice with half wands full, and when you have the knack down well... you will know better how to wring out the most from lighter packed wands. I recommend folks do this practice with whatever your local "bunk" is.

Report back here and let us know.....

Vitolo -- Thank you so much for that advice, that sounds like a great idea and once the kiddos are down this evening I will give that a try and let you know! Look forward to having better success this evening...

one question, how many hits do you think I should get with a half wand @ 2pm? I know there are a lot of variables that go into this equation but what like 3-5 something like that?

Probably around 5-8 or so

thanks for the quick reply VapeNStone, appreciate it.

I really like the DBV just feel like a dork at times trying to get this thing to function the way I read about. I know there is a learning curve and not ever using a vaporizer before adds to that curve a bit. With everyones help on here I am sure I will get it in no time.

hello taggert420. the DBV was my first true vaporizer (i say true cause a long time ago i had one of those inverted goldfish bowls on a soldering iron that turned me off to vaping for many years) and i bought it in 2009. i still use it and LOVE it everyday!!! there is a learning curve that i too, had to power through in the beginning but once i did.... WHOA NELLY!! what a great vape!!!

now i know NO ONE on here will recommend this and i am very hesitant to recommend this as well, but seriously what helped me learn the intricacies of temp dial setting and proper inhaling speed was trying EVERYTHING!! what i mean is i tried ever draw speed (light, normal, hard) on almost ever temp setting (tried the dial on all positions). yes i combusted a few times (yuck!!!) but the process taught me what causes combustion and how to prevent it. in the end.... i feel like i know my Buddha so well. i know that my flowers (dry vs. moist) also factor on where i set the dial. i will say for the most part, my dial is set to 10.5 or 11 and i get great hits, with awesome taste (that lasts long), and huge clouds!!!

Since the knobs come right of and you can "reset" the knob pretty much anywhere on the actual dial, how do we determine true 12 o'clock?

I guess one way to test would be to take pictures of what each persons DBV looks like at 12pm...and get an idea of how hot the heating element is.

Mine is "factory" set as well, never tweaked the knob.

I am going to try Vitolo's suggestion today and if I still cannot get a solid hit, then I will probably take your suggestion. Will keep everyone informed of success/failure tonight. Thanks for all the tips guys!!

Vitolo -- has anyone ever told you that you are a vapor guru? Seriously. I did what you said, no packing (just sucked with wand as I put it in), 2pm setting, long deep pulls trying to be consistent with breathing speed as well. BOOM. Only took 2 hits so far, but man tons of vapor even after holding it in for 15-20 seconds. So THANK YOU! The DBV has now officially put me on my ass and going to go hang out with the wife. Thank you so much and hope you have an awesome evening.

Now I need to master the exhale breathing technique of blowing some out, breathing in fresh air, repeat...

Any other tips you got man??? Because this just made the DBV 100% worth it (which I already knew it was just was having slight learning issues)

Noon...
find a mark on your knob... and call it "spot"
the low end of your dial... NOT OFF, but the place where it is about to shut off... should have the "spot" on it at 7 pm
the top end (where it can turn no farther) should be at 5 PM (exact opposite of the bottom place)

If for some reason the DBV you have is not alligned like this ( but I am certain that all are)..
remove it by pulling it off, and put it back on correctly.

This is weird...but my dial is not calibrated like that (the off spot is 8pm and max setting is 4pm). If I take off the knob and move it to 7pm then the max settings is just past 3pm. Looks like my knob is not as flexible as yours...just got mine, maybe they made changes to the dials recently?

By off spot I mean right before it clicks off

if it is at 8 and at 4....
it is simple.
dead center top is exact noon
That is how they are supposed to be.
I may have gone too far in each direction saying 7 and 5

Ok, so I am good to go at the noon setting and getting good rips. However on a half wand bowl I am getting 3-4 hits at this temp then nothing and move up to 12:30/1:00 and get a few more very light vapor hits and then it feels like all I am doing is making it browner and browner and not really getting any vapor, something amiss or does this sound right?

Try using less herb in your bowl, say 1/4-1/3 instead of 1/2 and starting a little lower, maybe at 11, and drawing slower. Everyone has their own sweet spot, so just keep playing with it.

Thanks will try that...just feels that figuring this out is burning a lot more than normal...which isnt a huge deal cause I can always get more AND once I figure this out more I should be using less.

Good to know I am not the only one. :-)

As long as I am using less than combusting, then I will be a happy camper. Just need to keep working with this to find the right start temp.
