For those of you who care about odor stealth the Crafty is by far the worst offender of my vape experiences. It is by far thee best portable I've ever had on every front but is also the smelliest I've ever used.

Anybody have a case ideas to address this? I tried the firefly soft slip cover and that helped slightly but my whole room smells from device leak (to clarify I blow vape out the window) I'm talking about post vape the device emits way touch odor.

Open up cooling unit and scrape......might not be able to get 100%, but then again I wasnt trying to get it all, I'm keeping a coat of oil on the inside and see how that goes.
Still better than nothing, I was never able to reclaim from my pax.

Nice thanks  but what do you scrape it off with?
How much do you run through it before scraping it off and how do you store it after?

sorry, yes, I just used some tweezers to gently scrape the inside and got a pea-sized blob, this was after maybe 10 bowls.
I didn't store it (though I'm sure you could), just sandwiched it between a layer of flower and the oil pad and had a session that lasted AGES
@Volteric you mentioned crafty being the smelliest vape you own?, I'm guessing you've NOT owned a PAX, It doesn't need to vibrate and send my phone a message to let me know its ready.....I can smell it across the room BEFORE USING IT, can't say the same for Crafty.

It's just that considering $399 buys a beautiful Korean hand-made instrument like this, it just seems disproportionate. Know what I'm sayin? Does anyone know, are those plastic vaporizers actually made in Germany by Union workers?

Storz & Bickel is an innovator. The Crafty should be compared to an actual ES-335; and in that sense, it IS a bargain ;)

Yes, I own the pax and this crafty has dethroned it but the odor leak is way more noticeable to myself and others. If I could put it in a smell proof case I'll be golden. Now I got to find one

I've been checking out the Goboof Alfa vaporizer and it has two cool features, Auto-Puff and Auto-Time. Auto-Puff increases the temperature a few degrees everytime you take a pull. Auto-Time does the same thing but over a 20 minute session instead of per pull, basically the same idea but for group situations.

I wonder if S&B could implement something like this through the app. If I could just turn on the auto puff where it automatically raises temperature I wouldn't give a damn about controlling the temp through a phone because I'd only have to push one button. Coming from a Volcano Digital and Classic, I'm used to ramping up temp constantly over the course of a session, which is what has me leaning towards Mighty. This would make much less use of the app.

Looks like I've found a new use for my previously retired purple days bubbler stem from ClearDome using the supplied replacement mouthpiece oring it creates a perfect seal and works pretty amazing, since I removed the screen/c-clip on the stem airflow is a lot better, and the abv on the crafty is way darker than without the bubbler, as it's a lot easier to take longer/stronger draws.

Random crafty thoughts after 5 daze

Flavor is incredible.
I wish the bowl were bigger for sharing.
Clouds are massive at higher temps.
The plastic seems thin & fragile.
Seems to be same plastic on the No2, which vapir claims to be medical grade.
I love how fast you can medicate.
App works well.
Vapor quality is superb.
I hope I never drop it.
I'm OK with the battery life.
The flavor is incredible.
Seems to only extract only what you want extracted, hence lasting flavor.
If your a vapor snob, you must get 1, Yes this means you!
If you just need a inexpensive vape that works well, there's plenty of other choices.
The no2 erb scoop works perfectly with the crafty.
I wish the battery were user replaceable.
Oh ya, almost forgot, the flavor is incredible.

So, this is the end of my first week end with my new toy. What could I add ? :)
This is a really SERIOUS thing. I re-discovered my entire collection of vintage medicine. Shared it with my friends. We we're watching the app going up, up, up. Boost.
It was a nice week-end...

So I decided to do a pre-heat test last night.

I got the Crafty and the Mighty both to full charge. I then fully filled them both with the same type of herb and the same sized bowl, set them both to max temp (410) and timed their pre-heating. The ambient temp in my basement was low to mid 60's

The Mighty was able to get to 410 in 1:35, The Crafty took a whole 2:38 to get there, so performance is definitely not EXACTLY the same, although vapor production is close enough that I haven't been able to tell a difference there yet.

Hi Very high
Interesting what people are saying about the smell factor on this vape. Personally I think its the least smelly of the all the vapes I have owned. Granted you put your nose right up to it and you can smell dank. But other than when the unit is warming up I barely notice the herbal aroma. I'm sure this depends on said herbs, strains, moisture content etc etc so will surely vary greatly from user to user. My current unknown strain of grown in a loft is not very herbal at all. Hoping to get a nice amnesia haze this week and will report back with my smell findings. :ko:

This tells me at room temperature they will perform about the same, but in cold weather the mighty will probably perform better due to faster heat up/recovery. Good to know!

I found during heat up its on par with the solo, as far as odor. But if I had to choose between the two, then the crafty would maybe only slightly more smelly than my solo (not by much at all).

Post use, I found the mouthpiece/cooling unit does smell a bit dank, but only if I hold it right up against my nose and smell it. No different with a solo stem.

One thing I did notice was my crafty abv had a much more dank smell than I'm used to. My solo abv seems to have less door. Make sure you ditch your cooked abv out of the crafty straight away.
(maybe it's because I'm using a new brand of lavender from my local shop that might be more fresh, will have to confirm with my solo).

If you use a power bank with less output than the stock charger, will it harm the battery/unit or will it be just a slower charge?

Thanks!!

It is fairly warm and sunny right now, but one of these days when the temp is in the single digits, I will go out on my deck and repeat the same test, and see how much of a difference the low outdoor temps make

Out of my hat I think it could be a problem if you use it plugged on your power bank while the internal battery is low.

Hi Very high
I am looking at the Tecknet battery packs on amazon UK, the one I am after says the following:

Compatibility:
Please Note TeckNet Power Bank will not charge devices with input currents lower than 50mAh, including iPod Nano and some Bluetooth and GPS devices

I know zero zilch when it comes to this battery business :hmm:This is the link to it directly, can someone please confirm for me that this will charge my crafty OK? Will it also be possible to use whilst charging with this one? Thanks in advance :)

It's fine. The crafty is 2600mha (about the same battery capacity as most modern phones).
Also the device you linked has an output of 2.1a (which is what the crafty uses, Actually it uses 2.0a) but I have been using 2.1a output powerbank to charge my crafty just fine.
In the manual it says it should detect incorrect charge input, but try and match up 2a as best as possible.

So with that 10, 000mha you should get roughly 4 full recharges
10,000 ÷ 2,600 = 3.8 charges

Edit: also take into account that some have a 1a port and a 2.1a port (make sure you plug it into the right one)... Or some devices half to 1.0 when 2 devices are plugged into it simultaneously. (read the manual when you get it)

What I just did lowers the amount of vape leak I've be noticing. I turn the unit off right when it's buzzing ready. I take 3 draws. By the end there is very little to any vapor leaking and I got exactly the 3 tokes I desired.

Amazing device!

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely try it, but it doesn't really suit my needs. I'm more of a session vaporist.

I would prefer to finish it in a single session without delay. And I'm getting about 12 good draws per bowl. So I would have to do that 4 times to finish a bowl.

So odd that people are reporting such low amount of draws per bowl. I'm getting about 12 really good draws per bowl.

Yea I most definitely feel rare in the way I go about my business. It's my way of titrating the effects to precisely where I feel comfortable. If I take too much too soon I tend to get anxious.
