ayyy what's up guys.

I'm looking to for a way to hook my crafty up to a water pipe.
I was considering just buying the adapter from delta3dstudios and I feel like that's the easiest, but I'm also interested in elmomuzz's method which requires a bit more effort. What are the advantages/disadvantages of these options? Are there other just as good or even better options for my purposes?

I've got it hooked up to my Orbiter, i just stretched the silicone tubing.

I've noticed that vapor is escaping while i'm not taking a hit, sometimes it's lots of vapor it looks like holding a cigarette is this normal? Also i'm using the liquid pad and I've noticed some honey oil build up, i will make a picuture later.

Vapoz,

elmomuzz

That just happened...
You make some fair points later when you criticise specific errors on his part, but generally speaking I think it's unfair to call him an idiot.

You know, in a world so replete with actual idiots, one should be cautious to avoid dragging everyone down that far just because they're not infallible.

I was to harsh and used poor wording but I can't take it back now. You can't edit a post after a certain period it seems.

Hi, I am also sending my Crafty back for an upgrade to enable connectivity to Android 5.0. I see the instructions from S&B to send in only the heating unit, however, folks here who have done this seem to be suggesting that S&B have returned units with modifications to the cooling unit as well (O rings).

Question: Did you send in your entire Crafty, or just the heating unit?

Thanks!

Damn elmomuzz, you got a lot of heat for your comment. I too am a fan of vape critic (he taught me what to look for in a vape and he is straightforward). But everyone has their opinions and I respect that. I feel that way about vape life will. I won't call him an idiot but his reviews are biased because he promotes what he sells on his online shop.

S&B ROCKS! Their customer service is top notch so far. You just send in your unit only and they send you a brand new box with everything inside so in a sense you are lucky to have a broken unit! So they don't modify anything I believe. The CU and accessories are brand new!

This is SICK, should actually be on the official storz and bickels website imo, if there was some kind of competition for best crafty pic this would be the easy winner.

This should be on their site and say "king of portable vapes"

EXACTLY. vape life will is one not to trust because he simply advertised what he sells. He's biased. Vape critic hands down has he best videos and non biased opinions! Only person who you can watch videos and compare all the clouds of each device perfectly. He honestly couldn't have made his videos any better!

Makes up for the shipping cost as well for sending it in! Free goodies are always nice in America where the land of the nothing free

Just wanted to say, like many other contributors here, that S&B's customer service is nearly perfect. (Said "nearly" because I'm french;))
I've just received my new crafty, with an entire new set of accessorizes. The people I wrote to were quietly effective. So, what could I add ? It's not advertising, just a satisfied customer who wanted to say that you can trust this company.

Really? I find the complete opposite lol. The finder the grind the more vaper i get but its more harsh and leaks all in the CU and not worth the hassle IMO. Works best with grinded buds from a Santa cruz shredder.
you might be right, more testing is necessary.

@ DMPesso

Thanks for the tip. I was using a space grinder, and will try this brand by Santa Cruz, too.

Hello everyone. I don't post here much but I do read up and love the helpful & indepth posts, and the friendly community. I got one of these beauties last year - serial number below 2000 direct from S&B - been a volcano owner for a while, and so far am very happy with this too.

I have a question though since I have never hooked it up to the app. I need to upgrade my phone to use the app, but have been using the Crafty fine how it is. (Sure the light is bit bright but it works really efficiently at the pre set temps so this is why I bought it).

Does the Crafty itself know how long its been used for, and then updates the app
OR
Does the Crafty store no usage info and usage time is only logged when connected to the app?

i.e. I have used it for 20+ hours, not sure how much. If I load the app now will it say 23 hours or something or will it say 0?

For me it doesn't really need the app the way I use it, but as I have an early model and read around 50 hours they go funny and die, it would be useful.

I have so far had no problems charging and using it with the power bank when out unless im hitting it constantly multi session and then it switches off to save it from overheating, but that has only happened once when I was seeing how long I could use it continually and when it did I was medicated enough to not care!

Makes a fantastic hand warmer too.

+1 for the hand warmer I love walking my dog in the cold smoking the crafty. The sessions last FORVEER in the cold. But to answer your question I am almost positive your crafty internally has all this information attached to its serial number and when you connect the phone it simply reads the signal it's sending out. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense if it only updated it when the app was on. I hardly ever use the app unless I'm changing the temps and it always has the correct hours when using it

Hi, I am a new member here. After years of rolling my own, I want to buy a vape. I have been looking through the forum and as well as the net and have seen great things about the Crafty.

Can anyone summarize what the issues were with the Crafty and have they all been fixed? Is there a certain serial number and / or firmware number that I should be looking for when buying?

One last question, is there any point getting the Mighty over the Crafty?

Thanks,
Ken

Ive just got my unit back from repair (got a replacement unit, had software issues and badly molded casing, plastic started to fall apart :/), the o rings in my new unit are light blue - not deep, darker blue like on first one. Is it v2 ? I know it's brand new but damn it feels solid, cooling unit locks in when turned completely, if I recall right my first was just turning all the way and that's it, no "click". Dunno.

Most people complain about short battery life but you can't expect any better without them making it heavier and more similar to the mighty which will take away sales from the mighty so it's obvious they went with this size for a reason which does about 3 bowls to kill the battery. Other things are the holes in the screen on the cooling unit are too big so bud leaks through unless you have a perfect grind like a 4 piece grinder or Santa cruz shredder. Besides that everything is minor and obviously some units will fail sooner then others but with exchange policy as simple as theirs where you don't even need to speak with a human you simply send it in and receive a new one back. DONT look at the problems people had to steer you away. It's not that many compared to how many were actually sold and most of these people abused them (charging while it's hot even though they say you can it's not good or using it while charging) or overused them and put over 50 hours in such a short period of time. That's like using it for hours a day, the crafty isn't meant for that!

Thanks for your comments. Where you say that obviously some will fail sooner than others, did you mean that as with any product or specifically this one is destined to fail at some point?

I'm the only one that would be using it and it would only be a couple of short sessions during weekend evenings spaced apart.

Thanks,
Ken

If the above is true you have found your perfect vape.

Sinclue

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Is there a way to update the firmware? That is without it having a problem and you getting a new one.
I'm over 58 hours with v2.04, but I guess new versions are V2.05.

Hmmm. There may be a Mighty in my future. What's up with the firmware issue? What does the later firmware fix?

Hi Very high
Same here Elmo no issues with my Crafty, original firmware and nearly clocked up 60hrs without any problems whatsoever.

As far as I know @ken6217 there is no issue with the firmware. Obviously we would all like our units to be the latest but I don't think that is something we can even do ourselves even with future app updates. It may have to be a S&B job only. Just speculation though I could be completely wrong.

Unless it effects the performance of the unit I am happy with my original firmware.

I'm going to order the Crafty. Maybe an Ariser Solo as well for home use.
