Out of curiousity did you call them first? Or did you just send it in ? I wanna know the best way to go about sending it in for repair if God forbid I ever have to cross that road. I don't want to be stuck calling them. What's the best way guys?
Follow the instructions on the website. Just send in the base unit, in the original box with your documentation. keep everything else. This is for USA.

It's real.
So I really want the crafty but I don't want mine to break down around the 50 hour mark as I am a moderate user, so it may be past the 2 year warranty by then. My question is, are retailers selling the updated version yet? How can you tell besides the serial number?

I think they're only giving out the updated versions to people with issues seeing as how they are still selling units that are labeled under 2000 while resellers have 3-4000 because they simply purchased a later made batch of crafty. I don't think there is a way to guarantee a certain batch they just sell them all together. Otherwise they wouldnt be able to sell the older ones if they only sold the new ones when technically the old ones are perfectly fine UNTIL something goes wrong. That seems to be the way they are handling it. It wouldn't make sense to update every unit they have in stock or only sell updated versions since it's just "update" and not anythint that HAD to be fixed. Mine is 1600 and its runs perfectly (for now) (knock on wood)

Mine came in and it's 7400 model I ordered it from vapelife store. He gave me a 10% discount

Miguelamoncada86,
is it the new one with the new O-rings and stuff? if so how does it function? any improvements?
This is my second one first one I bought was a 5000 and it does have different color rings, a darker orange pick tool. And the temperature seems to be more stable. But other than that basically the same well, I only had the first one for about two sessions before a friend bought it off of me.

And Storz and Bickel have addressed the other issues with the crafty as "normal," correct?

*Edit* Never mind, found the page to my question. Overheating is "normal" as said by El Barto, so by the sound of that, they aren't going to address that problem.

I'm assuming vapelife just has a newer batch? Because I'm sure if you order from s and b you won't get. A 7,000 unit because I ordered a month ago and got a 1600 when soemone else here ordered 3 months ago and got a 2000 unit because they ordered from a third party retailer who obviously bought a later made batch.

Might be that they are being sold as refurbished. Well not refurbished but as new. Doesn't make any sense for such an older model to be sold from straight out of the company. unless they kept those and have been sending out the ones straight out of the line. But still doesn't make sense to me

It does make sense think about it. It's not a recall where the older ones are defective. These are simply UPDATES. They will still sell the new ones they have that were made at an earlier date. Wouldn't make sense for them to pull all the ones they already made and shipped to resellers just to add different color O rings and a poker tool. The ones they made prior to the update are still perfectly fine UNTIL something goes wrong, which is when they will upgrade it. I'm sure some poeple have the original ones still with original o rings and Im sure they don't have any problems with them (I have the 1600 unit and it works perfect) (for now). Sure the newer o rings are "better" but it doesn't make the older ones not good enough to sell anymore...

OK, I really have been following along (or so I thought) but somehow missed the beginning of the model unit discussion. My apologies for the obvious question but, how does one determine what model unit they have?

I bought mine fairly early in (am at 57 hours), but can't figure out what model unit that makes it.

Thanks

Alas, all I get is "authentication failed". (Even tried fixed as password).
Perhaps a PC/MAC thing? I'm MAC.

No, you need a copy of the hacked application that @JCat made available for Android phones. Its not posted any more. Someone could email you a copy and you could install it on your phone assuming you don't have more Apple products . . .

Well that clears it up as I'm pretty much exclusive Apple for the last 20+ years. I know its not everybodys' cup of tea and may not work for them but its always worked for me.

Unit number isn't that important as long as it keeps working. Have to admit to a little apprehension now that I'm getting closer to 60 hours, but so far so good. I pretty much vape at around 180-190º C and rarely boost. Don't charge and use at same time and have never removed or changed my o rings. Just a regular cleaning with ultrasonic cleaner and 70% ISO soak. Usually takes about 10-15 minutes.

And fortunately should something go wrong I pass near their Oakland HQ several times a week so I can always maybe just drop off a defective unit and get a new one on the same trip!

There's a sticker next to the barcode on your box if you can't see it in your app.

All the box has is your serial#. It doesn't have the firmware version, hardware ID, hardware sn#, battery and P1000 info etc . . .
