Very cool...!

I got this when it came out in '95... Not my fav album of theirs by any means, but still very worthy and it will always hold a special place in my heart... for many reasons. This song however is particularly amazing:

King Crimson - Dinosaur - Thrak (1995)

But this is where my head's at today:

The Midnight Special More 1975 - 14 - Billy Preston - Nothing From Nothing

What do you do when you kicked out The Mothers of Invention for writing a song their leader says is "too good"...? Ask Lowell George, or so the legend goes... But here are a few facts: https://www.songfacts.com/facts/little-feat/willin

This is the first version (from the first album), not the more "popular" one from 'Sailin' Shoes'.

Willin' - Little Feat - Little Feat (1970)

I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty don't ya know, and I'm still, oh I'm still
Out on the road late at night, I seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice, Dallas Alice

I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Now I driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'

Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico, and I'm still
And I've been kicked be the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in and I'm still on my feet and I'm willin', oh I'm willin'

And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and then you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'

This one goes out to @Planck.... enjoy buddy, wherever you are...!:
Very cool, both the song and the gesture. 😍
I think it's unlikely anyone living in the first world has not had there eardrums tickled by Tom Scott, knowingly or otherwise.
I prefer the original album version slightly but sadly no video.

Marcus Miller funky with and eastern spice.

Hope you like 'em @Bologna

HOLY SHIT!! LIVE!!:
Indeed! :) We are fortunate to live in a time with so much incredible and obtainable music, the richest in the entire history of humanoids.

Fela Kuti would be my desert island musical choice. Newen Afrobeat band from Chile carries and develops his legacy. Incredible talent and dedication, there is no act I would rather see live now.

When asked, I usually pussy-out with a reply like: "I'd pick something I already hate, cuz I wouldn't want to destroy something I love so much." See, what did I tell you... total POOSSAAY.

Terrible audio buuuuut..... VIDEO! (and a pretty cool "lesson" on major chords ):

Electric Light Orchestra - Livin' Thing (Official Video)

Here, this sounds waaaaay better... try and synch em up!

I caught these guys on the 'Loud Jazz' tour around '87, or so.... never more blown away by a drummer, and I've seen a bunch, jazz and rock alike. Totally stole the show from Scofield that night at Berklee, imo....!

Haven't heard this yet...!:
