Concentrates for Noobs - Q&A

Hey guys, Trying concentrates for the first time soon. Just looking to see if anyone has an e-nano and a quartz nail? Im thinking of just sticking with the enano but would love opinions either way. Also for the enano dabbers, is it cotton only or is it no difference from just putting a chunk on top of a small gong full?? Ive read about the SS wool screen and am 100% against.

lol to answer your question... yes!

try convection dabs on a flower bed! its delicious!

try a dab on a nail be it quartz or ti or ceramic! its a completely diffrent experience!

I thought about that but just tried some CO2 oil in a vape pen and it just feels like im combusting. Maybe thats how it will be with wax/shatter in my e-nano or PnP bullets anyway. Also not looking to spend anymore, cept maybe 30-40$ on a quartz castle.

feel like combustion in that its a bad yuck or in that your feeling the effects more like you did when you combusted?

I can see how oils could be seen as such. they definitely hit faster!

Its hard to say it could just be the only other way ive consumed thc is combustion and vaping. I dont have any idea what concentrates should taste like. I asked someone who tried name brands and they said it tastes good.

I have no experience with co2 nor do I with putting them into a pen vape... sounds to me like the pen combusted your oil. if you have a nano I would try topping a bowl with it instead.

I've been using concentrates with the pens but just now looking to dab. I purchased some glass (18.8mm) from dhgate and I need some help choosing a decent nail (carb cap too?) and torch. Any recommendations?

I want to avoid making any serious investments until I'm comfortable enough with dabbing

What country are you from?
DHGATE you can get all you need in one order.

Thanks for the help! I'm in the US. I bought the glass already.
I guess I can also get a torch from BBB? My concern with the titanium nails from china is if it's actually 100% titanium? Im not penny pinching here so I'm comfortable with spending some more for peace of mind, but I was just trying to figure out if quartz or titanium (or ceramic) was the right move

Quartz for superior flavor ... titanium for prolonged life. The quartz castle nails are real cool ... almost a Santa Cruz omni nail (which is a really nice ti option) style at a way cheaper price. TI doesn't taste bad or anything I just think quartz gives a more true to the strain and original aroma flavor.

For me at least when I share my oil, it's a bigger platform, people are less likely to drop it in the slits and lose part of their dab. And I may be wrong, but i think they heat up faster. I hadn't had my castle long before the rig it was on was confiscated :( So i guess i haven't had a thorough enough of an experience with them.

Hey guys, been a way for a minute.

Just wanted to offer some words of wisdom.

Ti Nails. NEVER GO INEXPENSIVE ON YOUR LUNGS! Glass is one thing but there's a HUGE difference between medical gr-2 Ti and stuff from China (and don't get me wrong, they make some great stuff too).

And yes of course the Chinese could do it cheaper with it's wealth of cheap labor but material is material.

These companies that mysteriously have NO NAME BRAND Dab Essentials Fat Heads ($200) and Infiniti nails ($180) for 30 bucks use spray on material coatings to make it look pretty but eventually starts to corrode and oxidize. You don't want to dab on that stuff.

Next - bangers vs buckets - if you using an angled piece, NOTHING touches a banger. Otherwise it's between the castle and a halen. Of course this is my opinion, bangers are fucking awesome by any means! :rockon:

Last - C02 - putting co2 in a pen is something you never want to do. Co2 is usually viscous or soft, it wont stabilize. It's also free of any toxic or flammable contaminants so the entire process is different than ISO or Tane. By no means am I saying anything negative brother. I made the mistake myself.

I have more shatter than most people have ever seen in there life time!
Flower colas are the absolute best.
Concentrates are good however they are the leftovers from a harvest!
Top shelf Colas are the HOLY GRAIL!
Concentrates are awesome please don't misunderstand!
For me medically flower colas work best!
The highest THC level is not good in my case!
Concentrates are wonderful recreational just colas work best for me!
CO2 oil sucks!
Sorry that's my take!
It's medicine for me!
Cannabis in its pure form!
T2 is ok!
Vaporizer pens are just batteries with attachments!

edit: no heat inital evap and vac for 8 hours did prove some interesting results. definitely alot of terpenes get carried off with a heated inital purge.....

so cold is good... but final purge will still need heat due to the eventual viscosity of the extract... unless you wanna vac for a week or two.

Looks like you're topping your plants? Try trimming off the lower buds (but not the fans that go with them) that will end up being popcorn fluff buds, early into flowering. Seems like a waste the first time you do it but ime the plant takes the energy that she would be using to make all those little b.s. buds that you say you use for your oil and focuses it into the buds that are left. If topped and trimmed correctly you'll end up with a canopy of fat juicy colas :rockon:.

I'm a full blown rookie!
I lollipop the lower branches.
Last time I harvested I yielded 1.1 pounds for a single plant.
The super cropping helped.
I live in a limited state so I threw away over a 1/2 pound in the trash of manicured colas.
8 zips is all we are allowed to keep.
7 feet is my plant height.
The lower 1/2 not in the photo the trunk is bare!
I only grow colas!
