Same here. The GB-187 by Yingmin5 was the first to hit this thread. Then a few weeks later Sunshinestore modified the D020-D to have a similar matrix perc (this is popular but not nearly as popular as the GB-187).Thanks for the replies about big diffusers. You guys are awesome.
I'm trying to clear a few things up.
The recommendations were for a *-187-* piece. This is what I have got from you guys and looking at dhgate
GB-187-S - You guys love the mouth piece. Curious question, the mouthpiece looks to go straight up, from the picture on dhgate. Is that annoying? I really like the slanted mouthpiece, seems like it would be more comfortable.
GB-187-1 & FC-187v2. I've seen a lot of praise for these on here. Are these basically the same take on the design by different vendors? I did notice that they had the slanted mount pieces.
Could you guys help me understand the difference, and what you prefer? I imagine some of it's personal preference.
Stevenlmz made the FC-187 by our request for a sidecar version of the GB-187 (because Yingmin5 wasn't interested in working with us). Suddenly, within weeks of the FC-187v1 release, the GB-187-S was released. A sidecar version of the popular GB-187.
I had the FC-187v1 and was underwhelmed with the performance - my perc was poorly constructed. The piece otherwise was constructed well and the glass was VERY thick for china glass. But I wasn't happy with a perc that fired through pretty much 2 slits exclusively. So I sold the piece at cost to a combustion friend who REALLY liked the piece (the perc worked better if you pulled fast for combustion, but slow vaping speeds didn't work very well).
My GB-187-S however is perfectly constructed. Not one issue with the perc or the welds - it fires as nice as any DHgate matrix perc could. There isn't one thing I can say bad about this piece, for the price, it's everything I wanted it to be.
I suggest you look at the GB-187-1 or the GB-187-S (choose bent neck or sidecar mouthpiece, that's the only difference)
