I do like the look of #1, but I can't see myself getting one over a downgrid or the newer stereo matrix he is working on, it just looks markedly cleaner than the other stereo matrixs out there.

The stacking looks nice in the first piece's water test. I'm personally waiting for the Matrix Pillar as my next piece. That thing is going to be a beast. It's just a shame that we are gonna have to wait till march for it's sale.

I still avoid anything with a can that has the neck coming from the top, because honestly, if I can't see the percolation happening, then a single matrix in a big can is all I really would need for vapor, since it doesn't need to be filtered, or cooled very much. To me, pillars, and vortexes, and such, are mostly eye-candy while you are baked. If vapor was pumped through 5 different pieces, and into a bag instead of lungs, and THEN inhaled, I would bet money that most people couldn't accurately pick which bag came from which piece, or even tell if someone were to trick them by filling all the bags with vapor from only one piece.

I really have to disagree with you here unless you are being specific to stacking pieces with multiple filters. Vapor has many different flavors based on the perc, can size, and neckpiece/constrictions. pillars/vortexing in specific though I agree is somewhat pointless, although there is filtration that is different to be had in a pillar (haven't tested one myself) that may effect how quickly the vapor travels as opposed to the visual aspect of the vortex. To further that, I can distinctly tell the difference between dabbing or vaping out of a piece with little restriction/cansize (10mm micro tube / fc710/ shisha water pen attachment/ toro double micro to an extent), middle resistance/can (circ-turbine US blown 13inch, starbud cup, double barrel), and large (sov downgrid) and that they all have their individual flavors and different speed and pull clears. Personally if they were put in a bag I would think that a lot of flavor would be lost obviously, and to top that the individual bags will have different strengths of harshness but to a much minor extent due to the fact that they are bags and not individual pulls. I'm not sure what you mean by a single matrix though, as I would think a single matrix in a large can is enough diffusion for most vaping yes, but a stereo matrix obviously has a completely different method of added diffusion to it.

Honestly I'm really eager to see a solid downgridded (and i mean a lot of grids like the sov ones, kind of like the upgrid to sov balls that got taken off dhgate that were quality) and aligned tube, and if the stereo matrix provides a similar hit (I'm not sure it does, but it seems to be more than enough diffusion for high temp vape clears [loved milking my sov downgrid and then clearing it, RIP tho] and combustion with friends) that is what I am looking for next. The fc710 has exceeded my expectations for dabbing/vape and I really have little need for a mid size piece with my toro and circ-turbine, but I find that truly a large can size, like the difference between a 13" and 16" make a huge difference in the amount of vapor density and filtration that can be used.
Edit: to the downgrid reply- tested them both extensively in store, both me, my friend, and employee agreed that the downgrid hits much better (employee owned one). The upgrid makes for a very airy hit due to its nature while the downgrid you have to pull harder for the grid to take place but it is such a more satisfying hit and diffuses much better, and I personally like the clear better also to boot

Also have people seen the new ccg rig here? looks like a standup worked version of their layback bubblers, kinda promising for a mini worked from china

i'm in a similar boat to you but i'd kind of rather see an upgrid as apposed to a downgrid, on a sov bent neck.. what makes you prefer the downgrid out of interest.

I got this one from CCG summer of 2014, it's really nice compared to most of my china glass, worked portions and good welds, the perc fires well, and the disk above the inline perc makes a good splash guard. It even sits up to some degree on its own because of the curve of the moutpeice...at least you can lay it down with water in it. I really enjoy mine, also makes an excellen oil rig.

So I'm wanting to pull the trigger on a piece to pair with my EVO and maybe sub. I was wondering if I should go with the gb-187, the gb-187 s, or the fc 187. I want to be able to see as much of the action as I can. I also saw where the 187 's with the mobius logo seemed bigger than the ones without. I would like a larger can. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I prefer the GB-187. But if your after volume, the FC-187 is a beast.

I keep finding with a my FC-187, to make a good seal on the MP I need to shove my lips into it, which causes the bubbler to want to move on me because the sidecar is offset from the center of the bubbler.

For the best action shot, I prefer a mirror + lamp aimed into the bubbler. Much easier on the eyes.

I don't have that model, but I got 3 bangers from Kathy not long ago.

I've mostly been using my 18mm one, and it's held up fine so far.

I've been torching it red hot to clean it at the start of each dab and it hasn't cracked or deformed or anything yet.

My 14mm banger doesn't make a proper seal, it's a tiny bit wobbly and let's a tiny amount of air through.
It still functions fine and the extra lil bit of air doesn't seem to affect the dab, but I prefer just using a reducer in my 18mm banger...

I also got a 10mm one and it's been fine too.

*drumroll*

My egg from Kathy has arrived :D
(Did yours come yet @DieHard? I think I ordered mine just a few hours after you.)

It's got a light white base and lip wrap.
6 holes, 4 drains.
I filled it to just about entirely fill the bottom half, right to the drains.
I'm not really an eggspert, what's the "ideal" water level for them?

Came with 2 female flower bowls (I've got a goddamn drawer of these things accumulating now , wish they'd let us save $1-2 and have an option to just not include them), a glass nail, dome, and ceramic carb cap.

I've been wanting a proper carb cap so it was nice it was included with the egg :)

Those videos make me regret not ordering, function looks pretty similar to water tests for American Fab Eggs I have seen. Now everything on Kathy's store is will ship within 25 days. Kinda thinking about taking a risk and see if I order soon if she will get it out before Chinese New Year.

How does it dab?? I want one now!
I know right? I want to know how close they come to the real eggs that I've tried by various blowers like Ben G and others. If it's close to it I'm buying one instantly; I even admit I spammed @Fredrick_McGuire for a pre-review message haha

I logged in and bought this the second I saw this video. Supposed to see it some time this March.. Wish I would have ordered earlier though. March seems so far away and my fc710 still hasn't gotten here yet. Last update was 12 days ago from Chengdu

Dont know how long everyone else had to wait for theirs but I barely think about it right now so it'll be nice a surprise when it finally arrives.

Flavor seemed a little muted compared to the FC-710, but that's all about flavor.

It definitely smooths out the vapor a bit more.

I'll probably keep using the 710 for dabs, I'm really digging the function on that one.
I'm gonna try pairing this egg with my sub later tonight, so we'll see how that goes :science:

Comparing to other eggs; I've never tried an American egg, they're just way too expensive for me to even consider (I think the cheapest one I've seen was like 500),
I've got the other Kathy egg type rig - the shower head to honeycomb to egg.

They seem to share the same shower head perc, they're both pretty cool.

This new one is a lot more like a typical egg, I'd probably pick it over the other Kathy egg if I could only have one of them, but they're both cool and imo if you're interested in an egg you should try both

The neck is a bit of a letdown, it is a bit narrower than I was expecting, and seems a little thin, it's very similar to the neck on my Steven ball rig.
It doesn't seem to add much/any restriction, but there's some room for improvement there imo.

The prototype egg Steven made still looks the most like a mothership, and I'll absolutely be getting one of them if he ever puts them into production (unlikely at this point, but the more interest it gets the more likely I'm thinking it'll be that it gets made).

I wish this Kathy egg was about 2x the size (note, not necessarily 2x as tall, but just more volume/larger overall), but as it is its a very nice little rig.

The hit has a nice feel to it, it seems to function quite well :)

Fingers crossed they copy a mad rob stye egg with holes on the top and bottom halves - more eggs =

I'd like to see a more stable egg with a bigger chamber and bigger base.
seriously guys... if you're looking for an oil rig DHGATE is great... but what about a sublimator rig =[ none of these would do.

why wouldn't they work with the sub? they are all designed for oils, with the sublimator you need a piece that's more designed for flowers, asides from the fact most of them are male joints requiring a frustrating male to female gong, the bases are all too small to handle the sublimator without tipping over, the chambers are also too small for those fat sublimator rips, you could only do mini rips.

the closest piece atm is the stereo matrix knock off, but i already have a legit stereomatrix so eh ;/.
the fc matrix ion v2 looks alright but once again it's a fairly small chamber dude. maybe it's personal preference but i need something at least the size of the matrix clear with the sublimator.

that's the frustrating thing with dhgate vendors, look at all their larger pieces, they are so overpriced for how basic they are.. they have this logic that the more glass involved means the more expensive the piece should be, this is great for oil lovers because they are producing oil rigs super cheap but i'm not seeing anything decent come out from china for flowers.

What about the YQ-42? It's a solid piece, pretty freaking heavy, and you could choose if you want more or less diffusion based on how you fill it. I bought one for a combusting friend - was really impressed with it

i got a reply, shortly after posting the message quoted, and despite claiming at first that EMS (the only one available) was the cheapest shipper he found, after my request for standar china post, he said he found an other shipper which is almost as cheap as china post but faster...

so i made the order with the cheaper shipping... and hope to have some good news later on :)

so i do have some good news :)
the diffusion pump and the barrel to funnel arrived safely in bombproof package!

at this point i would buy again from steven

thanks @blankrider :)

ahh i appreciate your ideas guys but i'm actually not a fan of straight tube pieces. I want something i can hit from the desk.
I was asking to see if there was a piece might I have that fits your needs. I understand what you're saying completely. I hate straight tubes too and only have one. I know that SUB is a beast and needs volume to give that guy room to work!! Out of all my glass I'd recommend my inline to 8arm because It's cheap at $52, It's got Good diffusion, great volume and 18mm female and really compliments flavor. I have several pieces I'd love to try with a SUB,but they are all $150 or better. So you're right for Heavy Duty purposes China is slacking in design

Update: (@MGG you'd be interested in this.)

So I paired my sub with my Kathy egg last night.

It's a nice pairing, the egg smoothed out my vapor nicely, however, it definitely took me longer to finish each load - 3-4-5 hits per load instead of 1-2...

It was also useless for trying to hold up the sub. After the added height of the f-f adapter, then a sub buddy, it was almost tippy without the sub heater even on it.

I knew it wouldn't hold the sub up so I had another piece there acting as a sub stand.

So yeah, I wouldn't necessarily want it as my dedicated sub rig, but it was a fun pairing :)
