Dvr119's second shipment arrived and the piece is intact. He shipped the new one out as soon as I contacted him and didn't show any resistance at all. I would say he's a good guy to order from. Hopefully the hydrotube comes in next week.

Been a while since I've been in this thread since I've been really satisfied with my Underdog/Thermovape + inline honeycomb from Kathy.

However, I'm starting to consider bringing in some variety (got a salvage project in the works for a hyrdotube, but who knows if it will even be possible). So I was browsing through sunshine and Kathy for anything new. And this one looks pretty interesting:

I liked that thing before I dropped it! I ordered another and got one with a angled intake instead of vertical. Here's a video. It actually has a bit of recycling action.

Those are def the best starbucks cups yet, though shipping to Canada is more than the piece. I don't really understand how shipping varies so wildly from piece to piece for certain vendors.

Just ordered that cheech copy as my first recycler, as well as the baby bottle rig. Gotta stop watching function vids in this thread.

I received the barrel to funnel rig today from steven. There was a sharp piece of glass rattling around at the bottom of the barrel by the percs. From what I can tell there might be small cracks at that part. The glass has some bubbles but not too bad. Some of what I thought were bubbles at first glance actually turned out to be tiny shards of glass...great.
There's a couple imperfections in the glass that are kinda noticeable. Patches of blackish stuff on the glass that will not come off, but it isn't stuck within the glass because I can feel it on the surface. I can't speak on functionality yet because I won't use it until it's thoroughly cleaned of glass bits. I'm thinking of asking for a replacement, since it's a really bitch to try getting it all out. I don't know if they'll go for that though because it arrived in one piece technically.

Yeah I think it was a combination of the packaging and shipping service. The box actually arrived in good condition though, very mild signs of abuse on this one. I think the main problem was that it's not bubble wrapped well enough in the box. They used three layers of normal bubble wrap which was just kinda loosely wrapped around the glass. I prefer how sunshinestore sends their stuff. Apparently the extra layer of thick bubble wrap makes a difference.

Is it chipped noticeably? If you can clean out the glass and it functions fine then maybe dont bother unless you cant get the glass out and its effecting the function/safety.

That's the biggest piece of glass that was in the barrel. Something definitely chipped bad but I can't tell the exact spot that this piece came from. The crack near the percs isn't big enough to have a piece of glass that size fall out. I can't seem to get a good picture of it because the glass has water drops from cleaning.
One other strange thing I noticed right away about the glass was that it has a gritty feel on the outside. Not as smooth as the other China glass i've gotten, very minor though. Probably not a big deal but it was something I noticed.

He also wanted me to place a "double order" for a different item, so that he could send me that item as well as the replacement. He claimed this was to help shipping cost. I said I wasn't interested in other items, and he said that was ok. He's claiming that'll he will ship a replacement in a week when the new batch is finished.

Do I have to file a dispute on DHGate or just wait for him to ship another?

Looks like a BEAST!You'll have to take long pulls or prime it.That second one I'm one of the only people with it. It's my favorite piece of Chinese glass hands down.

I'm all in for long pulls =P. Really love the stem they added (Although I guess you could add it to most pieces) and the blue percs and mouthpiece look very nice too.

I'm kind of torn between the WP-1095 and the other one. I only have money for one and the only piece I have is the one in my profile pic. What would you go for in my place?

I think Glasswaterpipe was the first to post starbucks rigs which quickly popped up elsewhere. Hopefully these other pieces spread quickly as well. Would def get a drop down, the ice cream rig, and the styrofoam cup rig if they were reasonably priced.

Never seen anyone comment on that vendor, you're taking a risk. Also note, the tree-perc looks like they are open on the bottom (very common for chinese) - this means it will chug more, and diffuse less since the side slits won't really fire.

Additionally, as you suspected, that looks like a TON of diffusion - good for combustion, but will rob your vaporizer of flavor. I suggest only using that piece for smoking, and use less diffusion for a vaporizer.

Glass doesn't look too thick, probably no more than 3mm, if that.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered one of the barrel to funnels. Should be here Monday morning. It departed San Fran on Friday.

If anything looks slightly wrong with it or if it seems weak/fragile I'm going to contact him and mention the bad batch of glass and ask for a replacement.

The sellers on DHgate ask you to place another order so they can ship you the replacement free via epacket. If you don't place an order I believe it costs them more to ship the replacement item. So what you do is politely decline, but offer to put an item in your cart so they can adjust the price to $1 then pay the $1 so the seller can ship your replacement via epacket for cheap like normal.

This is what Yingmin5 told me when I needed a replacement from him.
