Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I think the expectations we have a quite fair:
A lower quality of workmanship, but to get the item we order in a working state.

Its basic commerce - we are buying a good.

We know it is not a high premium good, but a good nonetheless.

I don't care how cheap any item is, if they are selling it, it must be of a saleable quality.

For glassware - bongs or not, cracked is not saleable quality.

Well put! When I buy a new car windshield, finding a crack would be completely unacceptable regardless of where its made or the price.

with that being said, I don't have quite the same expectations for dhgate glass, but if I find a crack that will inevitably spread and cause problems(such as the cracks on my 186-1) , you can be sure that I will be expecting some compensation.

Nice one Man, do you have a special pluggin that lets you see all the new stuff before we do??? As I spend a lot of time browsing that DHGATE but rarely come up with so much new stuff as you do!!!

Would like to pull the trigger on that one but I'm a little anxious about that return pipe been so high or at least not been below the perc, and as I don't know much about recycler I'd love someone to shine their expertise advice on this one?

I agree completely, that's one they keep missing.

Ive been reading this thread a bit and i see from time to time that people pissed when they get the wrong item/broken item/cracked item or just not what they ordered. Keep in mind that you are buying from china, paying less than $50 for a bubbler and im not sure what your really expecting? Most of the designs im seeing are total rip offs of name American branded glass, they see a pic, sit down and give it a go, before u know it they have ripped off a Toro or Illidelph glass bong and ask 1/10th the price sometimes like the dabachino they have the exact same logos on em. With glass you do really get what you pay for. That said i have seen some gems im not seeing els ware so i sorta wish china and india would create their own style or pipes and not knock stuff off

I'm actually pretty surprised with the quality of some sellers. It's like any industry, you have some reputable businesses and then the total scammers.
The American glass scene is definitely the most innovative anywhere in the world, but at the same time, it has the most ridiculous pricing i've ever seen. $500+ for rigs that are smaller than a beer bottle. I don't know if smokers have started to become very prosperous in the past decade, but prices for vapes and glass have skyrocketed to pretty unreasonable amounts. I've paid $100+ on multiple occasions for different pieces by American blowers, and I can't help but feel like I overpaid by a lot. One thing i've really started to notice also, unless you go to a high end headshop most all of the glass comes directly from China. I've even talked to owners of local smoke shops and they have no interest in buying work from local glass blowers.

I am fairly impressed with the quality of most of my china pieces, and how well they are holding up. I know it is a gamble on if you are getting the "good one" sent to you when you buy, and if it survives the perils of overseas shipping etc...

What I have discovered after having a lot of exposure to china glass, is how many US stores are trying to pass off china made glass for american blown, and marking it way up. It's been pointed out many times over here in this thread when somebody stumbles upon a site selling the same glass way higher.

I have been slowly immersing myself into the local glass blowing community here, and have a great respect for anyone able to master (even poorly) the skill of glass working. We are getting serious bargains here with all these china sellers, even with minor cracks and ugly welds etc... So far I have made a pendant and a small marble that was intended to be a pendant, and became a marble that I still haven't seen the finished product yet :p just doing those gave me a huge respect for blowing glass, and getting it right. I think some of my bubblers cost about as much fully made and shipped as some of the raw glass materials cost here in the US. So we should definitely be showing a bit of gratitude for both sides.

Sorry for those of you who have been receiving broken pieces, I know that sucks and I hope your disputes go smoothly. Be polite but firm, and show pictures.

Yeah i've noticed that too, and it's really frustrating. I ordered a domeless quartz nail from BakeBros which was marked up pretty high, and it broke after the 5th time I heated it up. Contacted them, received a replacement which also cracked after two days. At this point I just contacted them saying that they need to find a new Chinese wholesale source, because it's obviously not quartz. They responded by basically saying "yeah we know, those nails have been breaking on us too." Then they threw in the classic CCG style line of "if you order again we will throw in a free gift." Yeah, no thanks.
I would just get it directly from DHGate but they don't do individual sales on little stuff.

I was looking for your input my friend . . .
Talk to me more about muscle use. This has been said too me a few times. Some of the pieces are large and the evo itself is big . . . Right now I want to focus on muscle use; I see him tomorrow
and have a feeling he is going to want me to continue voice rest . . .

OBG: oldies like us are certainly in a new world

I (we) don't know what your throat issue was/is, and I'm highly doubtful anyone here is qualified to offer a medical assessment anyway. I'm certainly not. Since you are seeing your ENT and can discuss this with him, that's where to look for answers to some of your questions.

E.g., re your throat muscles, you use your pulmonary musculature when you suck in air. You can feel a tightening at the back of your pharynx. Taking hard, sharp, long hits will work those muscles more than a softer, relaxed hit. Maybe this should be a concern for you, maybe not. Only the doc knows. (If his answer is yes, that also translates into a smaller volume piece.)

Same with the water temp. There could be good reasons to avoid anything that may increase your absorption of bacteria, as hot/warm water can do. Or maybe that need not be a concern. Again, the doc.

As far as being in a new world, um, not really. (Hint: Take a look at my avatar.)

And btw, I know you mean well with suggestions to the monkey man. Might I suggest though that those comments belong in the EVO thread, and probably would benefit from waiting on your new experience once you get into your new setup and technique (lest the mods intervene, i.e., "stay on topic.")

Well, yeah, but pink is worth bank

Was just having a look on aqualabs to see if I could find a comparable illadelph piece for a price comparison...
Couldn't find anything (except $370 ash catchers :o), but I'm still amazed how much the legit hitman rigs go for...

$500 for the double barrel, $700 for barrel to funnel...
:o damn. Stupid pricey.
