Not sure if you mean this one. Not a claisen by definition on this particular but i may be wrong. I just got one and bang for the buck its good. I ve seen plugs go for more than 1/2 of this asking price . hope this works for ya

I paid $24 from planet vapes before shipping and handling. (the tee)
The CAISEN was $7 including shipping. Stoppers I loose all the time?
For $8 I get them from the local smoke shop.
I use a wine cork sometimes and teflon tape if I misplace a glass stopper.

The deal on ebay for the stopper include seems OK?

Their getting harder to find?

From the pictures the G18 is a good 10 CM taller, but does that mean much? any other reasons reasons to get one over the other?

I'm just learning however I would get the D021 over the G18.
I break glass often and the G18 I would break first session.

Then again I favor the D series!

@OrdinaryJoe the key difference is that the g18 is a fixed stem and the d021 is stemless as @ataxian said a fixed stem will be more fragile and more difficult to clean.

The stems on those 2 pieces don't look particularly more or less fragile than each other to me...
I also can't really see how one would be harder to clean than the other...
If anything the multi chamber-ish style of the D021 looks a bit harder to clean IMO...

For the price point I felt their was little risk?
Let him learn as he tries?
If he gave me a choice I would say start with the D022 or D020!

The one on the left is small however the GSC doesn't care.

@Frederick McGuire I definitely see what your saying about perc placement. getting a mouth full of water does seem like a possibility.

Personally i find fixedstems harder to clean because of the additional 90 degree angle where the stem meets the perc. obviously not a deal breaker just my i loved my fixed stem

Thanks. Yeah, I have plenty of those. I'm looking for something that seals off one side of the claisen on its own (not a carb) because my hands are already plenty occupied. If I could swing it, I'd make a digital carb stopper that opens itself after a number of seconds the user selects.

This is what I'm doing ^^^

Got a pinch bowl from OGB that I don't use, works perfect because it has that little glass arm sticking out to aid in grabbing it.

I've gotten a clear marble 14mm stopper from Oregeon Glass - it's my favorite - nice solid chunk of glass - and only $15

I also got a custom matching 19mm for my 19mm Nano GonG from @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd

Got my D-020-D from Sunshinestore. Shout out to the post office for getting the package ready for pick up in the evening, instead of the next afternoon as per usual. I think the D021's perc isn't open at the top, it's like the GB-186 without the the bottom perc. although the perc is a more barrel shape.

Yes but the D-020-D has a more flat top, making an adapter necessary for my lotus to work. Also i think the -D has a larger can.

I think the D021's perc isn't open at the top, it's like the GB-186 without the the bottom perc. although the perc is a more barrel shape.

Also the reviews for it seem to be positive.

It doesn't matter if the top isnt open, it's gonna provide a fair amount of diffusion, and its only got like 1-2 cm of clearance from the perc to the top of the can.
I have and Love a GB186 - take another look at it, its got 10-15cm clearance above the perc, and with a water level barely submerging the top perc, I get it stacking up the whole can.

Seriously, have a think about the airflow and how the bubbles will stack...

Eh, to me that piece looks like a waste of $$$
$30 may not be much for a piece of glass, but it's more than I'd be willing to pay for a piece that'll end up being used as a paperweight...

Nope.
I think the can is a slightly different size, and I think the base is slightly different between them, but I don't have them in front of me to check.

The D020 has an angled showerhead - with I believe 10 slits.
The D020-D has a simple matrix - I think this one only has 6 slits? (Maybe it's 10 - my one is on loan to a buddy right now so I cant check) inside the perc is a little band of glass that splits up each slit (kinda like gridding, but a different technique) which effectively doubles the number of points of diffusion.

Also another one that looks good is the

More clearance so the perc can stack, I can't see you inhaling water too easily with that one
Edit, just noticed the price on that one, says $75 for me... That's kinda high for dhgate stuff, but if that's the sorta piece you want, it's still 1/2-1/3 of the price of an equivalent US made piece
