Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I'm always forgetting who not to shop with I have something on the way from CCG right now i bought it on the 26th it's in transit now allegedly. What we're the problems with CCG again? I just see shit when I'm stoned and figure what the hell it's only 30 or 40 bucks and then i forget i bought the shit
They're very big on the whole "oh sorry we sent you a broken piece, buy something else" approach...

I purchased a non functional item from them and got a discount on my next item from them.
That next item came and had shit welds to the point where the recycler was so restricted on the uptake tube that it just shot water up the return...
so at that point I had spent $69.50 and received 2 defective items.

I arranged for them to apply a discount to another order, and send me a replacement for the 2nd item.

They then sent out the 3rd order, but did not include the replacement item.

I was pissed off and told them it was unacceptable.

They did nothing to try to resolve the matter further and even went so far as to tell me that they were out of stock on that item and refused to make anymore (yet they were still listing it for sale on dhgate - dodgey as fuck)

I ended up having to go through the dhgate resolution process, and only got $50 back...

So at the end of the day CCG burned me for $19.50 and I refuse to deal with them again...
Great business move on their part

So, just got this quartz banger from Kathy:

It's honestly not that great. I got the 14mm and the joint is so poorly ground that it does not sit solidly on my rig. I don't think it's completely round. It flops back and forth on the joint and doesn't create any sort of seal at all. I've contacted kathy and requested a replacement. I'll update on how she responds.

Granted it's a nail, so despite all of it's problems it sorta works anyway. It looks and feels wonky as shit, but it's still a functional banger nail, and awesome for that. Now if I could just figure out how to cap it...
I just got 3 of them in - 10mm, 14mm, 18mm.

My 14mm is a tiny bit loose - just enough to have a tiny wobble, but it's still perfectly airtight...

the other 2 sit perfectly...
My only issue was that they have a decent amount of drag to them...
Not enough to make them unusable (I've been using them exclusively the last few days I've had them), just noticeable.

Guess what I got today!! :D :D http://www.dhgate.com/product/new-come-nov-2014-two-function-black-water/213566402.html

ordered from Kathy on 12/5 shipped out on 12/10, recieved on 12/29

Double vortex showed up (with updated tracking) in good condition, well packaged in box/bubble wrap. First impressions, it's fairly well made, welds feel stronger/smoother than previous kathy pieces I have, glass feels to be at least 3-4mm thick with a guess, it's fairly small 9" tall, fits in the palm nicely, It recycles and vortexes pretty well with high water level, 3 slit perc. As expected there is some unevenness to the various parts, and a slight lean, but over all it sits well on the desk, feels sturdy enough, stands even and seems balanced with the weight of the heavy glass adapter I put on it. *also came with a 14mm combustion bowl and a 14mm dome and 3 glass nails.

My main complaint would be the short male joint, it's a bit too low or short. The water level has to be pretty high to create a full recycle/vortex and if you have this piece sitting flat on a desk/table surface, the water does bounce up pretty close to the top of the joint. It seems to be meant to be more of a palm piece, when held at a tilt towards you, the water line drops to a safer bounce back level. I can see using a Ti domelss nail that slides over the outside of the joint, or possibly just using adapters to extend it as shown in this water test and Lotus video below. Pardon my crappy lighter, it's well used. :p

I give this piece a slightly mixed review because it looks nice and works pretty good over all, but you have to really watch that water line at the male joint. Just the slightest tip too far forward spills it out. If you plan to get this one, you might want to figure out an adapter that fits 14mm to extend it enough to keep a hot nail out of the water, or use a domeless. I'm still very pleased over all, got what was shown and expected (with blue mouthpiece accent and blue drips over the can which don't bother me)

(replying to this post from the review thread)
I've got that exact sized domeless nail, I've settled on leaving it permanently attached to a 14-18mm expander adapter, kinda making it a 18mm nail, and then using a 14-18 reducer if I want to use it on a 14mm rig.

Gives that little bit extra height for rigs like this that need it, and stops the nail from getting stuck on the joint after cooling (happened to me after every. single. dab.)

I too noticed that the water level sits pretty high up in the joint when filled, but I didn't really think much of it...

Many! But... how do you cap a banger with a dome?? :hmm:
Ive been using a Kiss Globe from W9.

Heat up banger, and insert the fat end of the kiss globe.
Insert dabber through the skinny end of the globe, and carb with your thumb

Huh... I feel like I'm missing something. Does it sit all the way against the bottom of the dish? Wouldn't that block the intake? :hmm:

The bulb of the globe makes it sit about 1/2 way down the banger...

My globe is actually broken (hence my experimenting with it), and the spot that broke off actually perfectly leaves the intake free, but I just checked it turned around 180 and it still worked fine.

The globe doesn't make a perfect seal, so you can't stop the airflow 100% - so the intake won't get blocked.
But it does make a good enough seal to be a carb cap

Hey bong along kids - I finally got the D020 from the sunshine store and she is beautiful!!! Everyone knows that I always wait for Friday's to party but when I finally got home today I just saw her I couldn't resists. For those that care she was packaged really well. So I plugged her brother the evo beast in and got her sister solo ready (I love her so much) and decided to indulge. And this new toy was wonderful. The little bong is being quickly retired and nothing retires the doughboy but I am feeling a lot better since I broke my side circ. This bubbler was able to handle both units and even though the evo was a little big for her, she was a total champ. Honestly nothing beats the exhale as a vape for me but the solo comes really really close and BB (baby beast) can do a lot of things that her brother can't do. Now I have a little awesome bubbler that can travel well with BB. I can't say that I looked at her all that close for any imperfections but I think this peice is a keeper and no, you just can't beat the price. I have to find a really nice paddled mit to store her in ( sometimes I think these work well for travel) and I am open to name suggestions for the new baby Recycler (a person that I trust in these matters told me I must name all of devices since they are like my children

So now I have 2 big and bad boys and 2 kick ass girls I am liking my kids. believe me that's a good thing for a LongIsland mom to say. That's a good thing for any mom to say because sometimes the children can be so bad..........

I got my two FC-187s today. They both appear to be pretty well made and although I haven't yet water tested them. I couldn't find any missing holes in the grid, so that's good news. One of them is about .5 cm taller than the other, and one has a slightly higher perc, but other than that they are pretty identical. The only other minor imperfection (as has already been widely reported) is the sloppy joint work. The seal of the GonG wobbles a bit, and the weld on top of the can on one of them is kinda sloppy as you can see and feel excess glass around the ridge of the joint.

Here's a picture with a GB-187 for reference.

I got my 18mm version, and its the thickest, most well constructed banger that I've had (3 from eBay, I like to drop my nails on tile...)

I'm sorry to hear that there have been some questionable QC. Kathy should make right on it. She's gone above and beyond for me a few times (I.E: remembering to include a gift that she promised me months earlier, replacing a bubbler with a crack in the joint that I couldn't get a clear picture of, etc)

mine doesn't fit 100%, but it does make a good seal. Overall, I was happy enough to order a backup. If the quality isn't up to par on the second than I'll let you guys(and 1 girl? Lol jk) know

These were my thoughts exactly. I absolutely loved it at first (and still do/will after fix) but I found a little decent sized hole on the mouthpiece weld after releasing payment. Honestly it was hard to notice, since no water leaks. But it is a noticeable air loss.

I plan to use my propane torch to try and close it. I know its risky, but I'm the type of person that a little piece of plastic/silicone/epoxy on my otherwise beautiful bubbler bugs me to the point of not using the piece. I can't help but perceive the little hole as a functional error(even when "fixed")

I like the FC-187 enough to where if I ruin it, I'm getting a replacement ( hand selected hopefully.....)

Even in writing about this small issue, I wanna give a big thanks to @blankrider for making it possible to give these Chinese glass manufacturers a real idea of what us sophisticate/modern cannabis consumers want in a bubbler. I think that even if nothing else direct comes from this: that the massive number of sales in two days will help show these chinese glass blowers that they should be competing for our business and sheer buying power (FC and the vaporization community as a whole) through proper designs and solid quality control

I got my FC-187 today, I like it better than the GB version. Some thoughts:

-Easier to pull than GB
-MP fits me better than GB
-Sidecar is nice although I find it hard to view the perc firing underwater at the angle I'd like. It seems much longer and a low upwards angle would give me the angle I'm looking for.
-My perc does seem to have smaller holes on some of the slices
-Female 18mm is a loose fit but for use with herbalAire and TonG so far I actually prefer it. The Teflon does not clank around the glass. I can also leave it sitting on the bubb and the TonG won't get stuck in the bubb, as can be prone to happen if I let it sit without holding it.

If you order multiple things from a seller on dhgate do they consolidate the order or do you have to pay for shipping for each item separately?

I have not found one vendor on DHgate who will combine shipping and give you a lower price - they say the price does not change for shipping if they combine. (I've asked several, got the same response)

Thanks for the pic @Stu ! Anxious to hear how you like the performance.

From picture, looks like your FC's are about same height and width as GB. Is this the case? My FC is noticeably shorter and wider. Not by an awful lot, but diameter is 5 - 10mm more. FC is 1/2" shorter too, but base on my GB is more convex than yours looks, so base of can itself is almost an inch off table - so maybe differences are between yours & my GB - not the FC's?

No wobbles on my GonG, but joint work looks about the same.

Super curious as to how this thing works as I've been rather un-impressed with the vortexing on some of the other recyclers. Also not a huge fan of the double barrel style, anyways. Would be really cool if someone could get a water video up with a milkshot included!!!

As @vapordab said, the bucket itself is thick, even, and seemingly well made. I've been hitting it anyway and as for the bucket part, I honestly love it. Upon closer inspection though, I was correct when I earlier guessed that the joint wasn't completely round. It looks like it tapers to a slight oval towards the top (was probably squeezed slightly when still hot), thus it won't make a solid connection with the joint.

Kathy replied asking for pictures, which I sent to her. The imperfections aren't too clear in my pictures other than the fact the nail isn't fully seated on the joint, but hopefully that will be enough for her to send me a new one.

Wow, didn't know there was this much difference in the First gen and second gen GB-187. As always, thanks for the pictures Stu,

How does the FC-187's can size compare to that of the Mobius Ion? I did a quick and dirty measurement with some string, the FC-187 vs the Mobius Clear, the Clear has 5-10mm more circumference.

I found my kitchen scales yesterday, 1st Gen GB-187 came in at ~1.01 Pounds, while the hefty FC-187 scored ~1.31 pounds, quite a difference.
