Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I tried $15 on another account, but she said $24 was as low as she would go.... Dosnt make much sense...

Nice try :)

The piece that you guys have been talking about, doesn't look to sturdy on the handles. I wonder how long it would hold up? At the very least it's a good addition to all the cool choices on here.

I know that thereare like 20(?) or so pieces on this thread, it would be awesome to just have them in one list for the newcomers, or just to be tidy.

This thread is awesome!

@Wat
It seems we agree about the issue differently
As a past owner of a Genuine China-Version Rolex, there is certainly a novelty value to having them, I guess I just see it as copying is recognising a good idea, and doing it yourself, but counterfeiting is stealing a good idea...
I dunno if that makes sense, but its the best way I can describe it...

Its not so much about protecting the Couterfeited, but not rewarding the Counterfeiter.

I dunno, in principle I guess I agree, but then I think counterfeits are more OK as long as their not being sold as the original. Seems like a contradiction, but I guess the point I'm making is that at that price nearly everyone knows that it's not a Roor downstem- it's an obvious imitation rather than deceit, if that's a fair distinction? Though I doubt Roor would see it like I do lol. I suppose there is a reason why it's illegal.

Law is ever changing, depending on time and geographic location. I do not think their should be barriers on copying as this results in a need to increase innovation. Those that innovate and focus on customer relations have a great brand value than those that dont. Simply put, I believe it should be survival of the fittest. If you cannot produce a product with the most value (benefits vs. price) than you are doing something wrong. If you do not change your product offerings than your swamped by a greater competition in the market.

I just simply feel that its all good and the consumer will have his or her own reasoning to choose one option over another.

If it works and it's of a fair quality, it's ok by my book! :D

Though I am against misrepresentation and lying to sell products (e.g. claiming to be another company)

I didn't mean to spark a conversation on knock offs, and everyone has great points. If it works well then it works well and it's probably a product worth buying. On the other hand, carrying a fake label is wrong on many levels and simply unnecessary.

Abysmal (iirc) gave it a good review and he knows his shit. It's just a shame they don't offer their good product without the fake label, as it can apparently stand on its own merits and isn't even a direct rip off of a Roor downstem design as far as I know.

Personally I don't buy knockoffs for a number of reasons, mostly because I don't see it benefiting anyone in the system except the guy trying to make a quick buck, and even he is stabbing himself in the back in this case.

I'm really excited about the bubblers Leviathan glass is concocting for us.

Mmm, I was just thinking I should mention this little guy, a bubbler I got from Gonzo (thanks man!) which was made in New Orleans and he said cost 100$ new. One thing I really like about the big 24mm GonG removable downstem is that it allows you to put in a pretty huge amount of crushed ice, something I really enjoy doing from time to time. What I don't love are the open armed diffusers, which while doing a nice job, I will still be sealing next time I go glassblowing. I haven't been in 3 weeks due to finals but can't wait to see how it chubbles with the fingers closed. I really like the simple, elegant mouthpiece and arm design.

I too have finals but have been vaping A LOT more lol bc of my to LW 15 arm :D and UD vape. Good luck on yours. I wish I can take some sort of class to learn how to work with boro and make a tube or something here in SoCal. (anyone know of any?)

Nice bubbler but is the perc tilted or is it just the photo?

Glad to hear you are liking the bubbler Charlie. Interested to hear how it performs after the modifications.

My LHS upped the price on em to $125 recently. The guys said they have become one of their top sellers because of the size.

I don't know what is the last agreed minimum . But someone mentioned removable moutpiece so i decided to share this Vriptech Bub(reminds me of HiSi Jamaican Can Bub which is about the same price but with cooler diffuser IMO ! ) (click here for pics) , i think someone on fc had one in his signature :).) .. I don't know if HiSi are making the Vriptech WT but they use similar percs.. and designs..

Yeah $200 is a bit too much - I say $100 and under like the OP

Haha... I just popped in here to say the exact same thing. While I moonlight as a Glass Snob now, I'm still a Broke Bastards Glass Consortium charter member. We're getting out of hand. I believe it was established a while ago... $100 was the "limit" or thereabouts.

HiSi does make this for Vriptech. I've had mine for just over a month now and I love it, but I use a HiSi downstem to lower the water level by 3/8" and keep from getting water in the mouth piece from excess stacking. The Vriptech downstem is made for the VWT PerK and it's great, but it's not right for this small piece IMO.

My bad...I think all of my links were $150 and up. funny how I started addicted to this thread looking for something under $100 and then found myself happy to spend double that for some quality.

I think one like this, but with a more durable downstem might be ideal. Anyone seen anything like this with a showerhead? Or even with just a well-slitted downstem? :brow:

placetime,

A Male connection on the bubbler kind of limits your options, and that Haywood guy once came on the forum just posting random links to dabbers and nails in every thread. Not that that's like invading Poland, but it's inappropriate. Anyway, I browse Etsy quite a bit, and I think he may have dropped the price 20-30 bucks very recently. Seems like a pretty awesome deal if the nails hold up.

Awesome that you are blowing glass- I saw your etsy store. That is my dream now too. I am going to take some classes this year, and learn, otherwise, I will consider myself a failure (this year)

I really encourage it, it's a load of fun.

I was looking through some links on this thread yesterday and ran across this:

For only $49. Photo Link is clickable.

Looks like the same bubbler? How well do you like the removable percs?

I hope it isn't the same, it's lame when headshops try to pass off China glass as domestic stuff. The mouthpiece on mine looks alot more competently blown IMO, that one on the left just looks silly, but I still think it's entirely possible.

The removable downstem is fantastic because it lets you add crushed ice. The diffuser gets like 7/10 because the arms are open, not closed.

That is definitely not the same one. Mouthpiece is different and that one measures in at 11". The one my LHS sells is much smaller at just over 6".

Naw, the mouthpiece isn't the only difference (and that is a BIG difference). Check the angle of the bend on the bowl handle also. Plus, you can tell the difference in the glass, especially the clear one on the left.

You're good man. Trust me, we've all bought a piece/accessory then seen a cheaper knockoff and had to do a double-take.

Now that was helpful! Unfortunately, my budget for glass just dropped to 0, so I'll have to wait a while. But I'm pretty much sold on the RX when the time comes, thanks a lot.
I was sort of asking for a balance of cheap and high-quality, which I have deduced to lie in the $110-130 range for a bubbler. I assumed that there wouldn't be much of a price difference b/w bongs and bubs, but that was dead wrong. You can get a quality bong for $60, whereas a good bubbler seems to be twice as much.

Well, Bleezy... you created a monster. A thread that has branched off and influenced conversation and purchases all over this planet. I hope you've come to realize, its not always in a name, nor in the price. That seedling you planted, that also grew into a worldwide movement, the Broke Bastards Glass Consortium has turned into the teacher, enriching your life with oodles of goodies, in that sub-$100 and thereabout cheap range.

You're nowhere to be found, since April. Man... a legend in the making and like many of the great ones, gone... before his time. I wonder if he was 27 y/o? Would be fitting... another rock star taken from us, much to early.

I hope wherever you are, Bleezy... you are comforted by the warm embrace of good Karma.

planetvape.ca has the inline EDiT - NOT a nautilus by black leaf for the same price and they
have a FC member's discount, just fyi.it is however an inline, bubbler with a bit of color worth lookin' at http://www.planetvape.ca/black-leaf-inline-diffuser.html
they also have this
http://www.planetvape.ca/black-leaf-8-arm-slitted-tree-perc-bubbler.html
if ya want ur tree arm in a bubbler instead of a bong.
i understand that this is cheap, quality thread and that under $100 is ideal and we should top out around $150 and that my post of a $160 piece started the raising. that said it was a micro circ toro by black leaf w/ disk diffuser for only ten bucks more. i will be posting my review in the planetvape thread, but wil also post here if that's ok w/ all of you, as it seems to me that anything with micro circ toro under 2 bills qualifies as cheap/quality.

As long as you think it belongs in this thread, I say post it.

Worst case we'll say its a bit pricey

EDIT:
One way or another I'm getting one of those black leaf smoke shower pieces...
I just want to get to the bottom of whether it's a re-badged toro first...

Another EDIT:
of the 18 pieces in that above post I own/have owned 7 of them
