Yeah and I actually just cleaned my 18 to 14 male to male adapter with it, so now it is not sticking to the ceramic, so removing it from my tall spiked tube actually removed the FW7 from the glass, so yeah it's normal and not a problem imo

I am really liking this tall spiked tube, seeing the vapor fill in it, nice cooling, despite the mouthpiece, going to try with water today...

Also SunshineStore is going to send me the 14 mm female version of the little shower head bubbler, since that is all they have anyway now, and they said they are out of stock on the 14 to 14 female to female adapters as well, so just swapping that one for a 14 to 14 male to male adapter since I can't remember where I put mine anyway lol and yeah still getting the 18 to 18 female to female adapter which is most important anyway since I have reducers!

Seems like the s shape drop down adapters are already in California so perhaps they will be delivering tomorrow or the next day? Yingmin double make footed hook and Steven gooseneck rattle can are still in transit, on planes I think?? Oh and I got FedEx email finally that the milk blue CaliBear straight fab FOL was finally picked up in China!

Yeah in the FW7 thread I said how I just cleaned it, after using it on the tall spiky tube this morning, and I misread your post thinking you said cleaning when you said clearing lol

Yeah so, I would not use it like in that video, I try not to remove the FW7 from the piece, until the vapor is completely gone, like visually with my heady hook I can see when the vapor stops flowing and I still keep inhaling just in case after that... Then I often will remove the FW7 from the piece to inhale some fresh air before exhaling (this is with male to male adapter that stays in the FW7)

So with using a male rig, I would not have to remove the FW7 in order to clear, that is what is so great about an on-demand vape with a nice trigger button, you can turn off the heater and keep inhaling to clear properly without removing anything... However as I described, I probably still would like to remove the FW7 between hits, although that could depend on the ergonomics of the piece, so really no way of knowing until I try it of course!

But yeah I don't really think that inserting and removing male joints into the FW7 WPA causes any wear at all... that's why I don't think there is really any risk or concern here, personally? Haven't seen anyone float this in the firewood thread yet

I much prefer fewer pieces and only used my 14 to 18mm male adapter a few times before getting the OGB 14mm j-hook. I agree wear to the wooden wpa ought not be a concern and anyway it's sold separately
I was wrong. My bad. 😟

All good dude!

Trying this tube with some water now, first had a little more in with TM, it works well though there is a bit of chug since it's only two downward-facing slits, I bet there would be even more restriction if I fully submerged the inline... So now I just did a bowl with the TP80 and a little less water, just below the inline (which is a bit narrower diameter than the downstem bend, a little higher up as a result) so it actually keeps the right angle bend below the vape and the load completely dry, to catch any stray bits before they hit the water! Very nice to be able to do without a drop-down, and having just a tiny bit of water for the vapor to hit the surface of before going up through the spikes, is actually a nice tasty cooling effect...

So yeah, despite the straight flared mouthpiece, I am really digging this dgc_glass piece a lot!!:spliff:

**actually had an accidental combustion in it with the Piro last night, fortunately did not inhale much of the smoke as I saw it coming (pretty cool through the piro) and then was able to just blow the smoke out of the tube since it had no water in it... annoying but after a quick iso rinse I was back in business lol

This showed up a lot quicker than expected. Tracking was from Suzhou, but the return address was City of Industry. Never seen an international shipment arrive in domestic packaging.

Thing is great, all the pieces fit in a large pyrex for soaking in PBW. Only flaw is the mouthpiece leaks due to the orientation. I'm not sure if there's a way to fix it other than putting a small towel underneath.

Are there other modular/interchangeable pieces similar to this one?

I have the Steven version of this, just the main can with the circ perc, and a similar mouthpiece, that I never liked because the flaring is so big and it's quite thin, packed away somewhere... I guess you have a lot of water in it? I never experienced the leaking you described, I am usually using mine with a hydrotube, or an alternative mouthpiece... I actually posted a few modular pieces recently, like this and this and a lot of people here rely on the FC-UFO... Any other ash catcher can be added to what you have already too, other hydrotubes and cooling mouthpieces, the options are endless!

I like this, is it any good?

I know this might not be the right place to ask but what is/was your favorite piece for that occasional combustion hit?
Well, if you'd ask my daughter, I'd think she'd agree the @PuffItUp 'Dewdrop Rig', but mostly cuz it's the only one I'll let her combust with (for various reasons) and with the Goo Roo $moking bowl that came with the 3-piece bubbler... it's "hers" officially, but I won't let her actually "possess" it 24/7 yet (again, for various reasons.) I did do a few rips just to help "christen" it... not bad, If memory serves...!

So basically a Mobius sidecar? I currently only have 1 glass piece and it's the D020D which, to me at least, looks very similar.

Yessir, I believe you are correct... but please be clear, this is in no way an "informed recommendation", as I have no doubt at all the Goo Roo 3-piece would be faaaar superior... I just don't want to willingly taint it with anything other than an errant vapcap.

edit: Or SB Hydro Maxx, I suppose, that's currently "out for delivery"...!!

I have an unbranded one of those, the headshow perc (or is it a showerhead or a flowerhead?) is good but the Matrix isn't very good so I wondered if the Sheldon Black downstems https://sheldonblack.com/collections/all/downstem
Or the 29mm Elev8 downstem https://www.elev8glassgallery.com/downstem-19mm-female-to-29mm-male-showerhead/
are compatible to replace the matrix?
Altho the easiest choice is to just buy another headshow one from Popularglass or a standard slotted one from dhgate or aomewhere.

That was fast @Bologna! Looks good, a DO20 without the wait...

Haha yeah that is the circle perc, circ perc, showerhead ish...

is good but the Matrix isn't very good

Yeah that is why I got mine without the matrix, I had already tried large yingmin matrix before and sold it, and read that this matrix perc downstem was not great, but the circ perc was, so when I ordered from Steven I requested just the main body can with that perc and the mouthpiece, it was only $37 at the time! Because yeah I got it for stacking with a hydrotube, didn't need an extra ash catcher, and yeah matrix not great for vaping in my experience...

But yeah I don't see why any 22 mm down stem wouldn't fit, as long as it wasn't too tall or something? So you could switch to a tree perc, although those are only okay in my opinion, better than a matrix but not as good as a circ (I used to have a 10 arm tree bubbler with narrow mouthpiece that I also sold like the big matrix, and now I have evolver hydratree and hydracirc tubes to compare directly as well, that's why I say circ perc is easily the best for vaping out of those options)

And yeah overall my inline honeycomb is phenomenal, a shame they are very difficult to find now, but in general inline percs on their own seem very nice and there's a lot of variety for them... My first in the honeycomb has three slits on each side, the silver fumed rigs have four slits on the top and the inline actually is at an angle, and the tall spiked tube inline has just two slits facing downward... Not to mention those great-looking GooRoo inline percs with all the holes!

Looking forward to the FOL fountain head fab egg, and the mini regular slitted shower head from sunshine for more variety, plus that diffusion pump!

But yeah if it's for smoking, what's the difference, just get any basic bong, used to have slitted down stem to neck tree perk ice catch, those are all fine, maybe a matrix would be good for that though? Bleh sorry I'm a snob so hard for me not to judge especially here lol

Edit: another fast arrival, 8 days from order to door, the s shape dropdown adapters from glass manufacturers:
PXL-20210701-224242245.jpg

Thanks again @LesPlenty for the tip, just over $13, so each one under $7, not such thick glass, but not bad at all! Probably should have gotten one that was 14 male and 18 female, but I didn't want to make things too complicated when ordering... Also could have seen the value in a male to male version, perhaps for the future!

I was just looking for drop downs for my new rigs. Thanks @LesPlenty and @Shit Snacks . Even with TAGs 25% sale, these are significantly cheaper and look like same quality.

Yeah these are quite nice, but I will tell you the TAG ones are probably better quality, at least the regular 18 female to 14 male and 18 female to 18 male adapters I got from them are super thick glass... Though very hard to beat prices from DHgate ofcourse!

Edit: this one from dgc_glass is interesting, that funnel recycler but with a removable angled downstem with holes perc, colors

Also this one from them is another that's similar yet totally different to some other fountain to funnel rigs we've seen...

And they have a nice one of the cyclone rigs as well, if I do become more tempted by this piece someday, then I'll buy it here

CaliBear straight fab FOL has arrived, got a little slowed down by customs I think leaving China, but then FedEx breezed through Alaska and Tennessee to get to California this morning!

PXL-20210702-182505728.jpg

It is a very nice, well-made complex piece, I love the milk blue color and it does match the inline spiked tube milk blue color too! Unfortunately there are a couple super minor cosmetic imperfections outside the joint and base, speaking of the joint though it is actually a unground 18.8 mm female, quite nice although the first adapter I tried fit a little wobbly... The perc is pretty cool, little rice seed shaped laser slits in that x flower grid pattern, and the straight fab egg is pretty awesome, carefully constructed holes through the glass with an internal cylinder structure (they are more effective than spikes, since they are full cylinders that surround the vapor path in the can a grid of four and five rotated in six columns, as opposed to four columns of five spikes in the other straight tube) that also gives the vapor a flat surface to hit after it leaves the perc...

I just tried it for the first time dry with the FW7 and it worked quite well, the balance of a smooth purr from the perc and a little restriction from the large egg cylinder seem like an effective combo! However there is a weak point for me, the mouthpiece is a little too small ironically, tube so narrow that it restricts the draw much more than the egg, with an even narrower tip... Fortunately I thought, it is not flared it is flat, however the size of this thick flat mouthpiece unfortunately seems perfect for drool! Hopefully this can be avoided with different vapes, using water, my own technique improvement, or otherwise I'll have to resort to more innovative measures lol

Overall I still like the piece, it is nice and unique, I'm glad I have the straight spiked tube as well, similar yet different counterparts that visually match perfectly... The straight fab's can is slightly taller and narrower, the spiked tube's base is wider along with longer wider mouthpiece and super thick glass for the can likely because of the spikes, the base of the straight fab is slightly thicker and all around its glass is quite thick... notably very good quality glass that is more worked overall, only part that looks welded is a little clear spot in the milk blue at the right angle where the female joint tube meets the inline perc tube (aside from the other two minor superficial imperfections in the outside of the joint and inside the base) like feeling the outside of the glass, the straight fab is all totally smooth polished more like US glass!

So how many are you up to now?
Currently:
1. Kathy Inline honeycomb bubbler rig
2. Evolver HydraTree & HydraCirc
3. FC-Mod base can bubbler with circ perc
4. PinnacleWaterTool hydrotube
5. BiaoT purple mini klein recycler
6. Glass99 blue klein shapes recycler
7. Tobaccoglass blue & clear silver-fumed inline perc pillar rigs
8. DGCglass milk blue tall spiked tube
9. CaliBear milk blue straight fab FOL fountainhead perc bubbler

So I guess the answer to your question is 11??!! :o:lol::mental:

Plus yingmin double male footed hook should be arriving any day now, although that is not actually a water piece so we will not count it, it is more of a hook or adapter!

However Steven's popularglass gooseneck diffusion pump rattlecan just made it into the country by plane I believe, and the SunshineStore mini showerhead rig is moving within China making its way to the plane as we speak... So yeah with those my total will be 13 fuck all :uhoh::brow::freak::razz:

I use my 'visitor plug' 18mm to 14mm male adapters and a bit of silicone tube to enlarge/change the mouthpiece on my straight fab occasionally, I really should get a 10mm to 14mm male for this piece to fit and look better,

Nice, yeah I will experiment rigging up something at some point, getting good airflow now if I put my whole mouth around it lol I'm really liking it with a little water, just enough to cover the holes of the perc, using GH+PA and TM and TP80 now SplinterZ...

Also came across this nice looking less funnely version of the slitted fountain to klein in green glass, and the shop has some good reviews with heady recyclers and color eggs, plus other such weird things too:
