I clean anything new I am going to breath through before I use it. That goes for glass or new vapes or silicone tubing. You have nothing to lose and potentially lots to gain. Vapes may have machining oils or metal slivers from manufacturing. Glass may have anything from shards or slivers to chemicals or even conceivably illness from a worker. It SHOULDN'T have ANY of these things, but it may so why not eliminate the risk.
The first cleaning for a piece of glass for me is usually PBW. I tend to use CranberryExtract in my water so after that all I normally need is hot water, but eventually it will get dirty and I will PBW it again.
I usually run Q tips soaked in ISO through metal (like VC condensers) and use ISO to clean glass stems.

I know this thread is about glass, but seeing as its pretty much the unofficial DHGate thread, I thought I'd ask here instead of creating a new thread (hope that's okay).
I'm looking to stick my D020-D (and my CFX / possible VC M
) in a hard case (for when I visit friends).
I've been looking at this (case number: 3810), but I'm not sure if it will fit.
The bong is 10.5cm
The case is not too clear, I messaged the seller, and he replied "I think PC3810 fit for you put this glass bong,as this case outsize height is 115mm,inside size is 110mm,you can see listing for reference,thanks"
I shouldn't smoke and try and so simple math .

I think a black hard case wouldn't look out of place in the back seat / boot of a car (I live in an illegal country
). As well as physical protection, I'm looking at a bit of stealth, or at least, not to stand out at all (I've had my equipment taken by Police before. Was in my bag, in the passengers seat, was bit smelly tbh, and not my best idea, but anyway, I'm just chatting waffle now.

For the daily cleaning I just use hot water, but for the big cleans with PBW I use the plugs below. From the bottom up they are 14mm and then 18mm rubber stoppers I got at a local ace hardware for about $.40 or $.50 each. I thought that was very cheap and they work great. The top 2 are early examples from @Ratchett's shop https://delta3dstudios.com/. They cost more, but have the advantage of fitting in nearly anything. Ratchett is using different materials now.

Cleaned my pibe again with hot water and also iso this time,
I however still seem to get a little irritated around the lips area, how can this even be at this point? I mean isnt glass just pretty much glass (other than the different origins and types, ) I dont see how "glass" should be contaminated with anything -

Got my little klein from GZsmoke in. It took 16 days from the day I ordered. Only took one day to get shipped out, then 15 until I got it. I love this little guy, especially for the price. Unfortunately my 18mm adapter broke so I couldnt get an Evo video, but here’s a hot ass dab I filmed on my phone.

I made the mistake of taking a draw of "clean" air from one of my first Chinese glass pieces freshly removed from the nasty Chinese bubble wrap, just to test handling and lip seal to the mouthpiece.
Never again!
The air left in that pipe was so stale and toxic (really bad chemical odor and taste) that I coughed for the next 10 minutes. I'm sure it probably took at least a week off my lifespan.
Horrible... not recommended. Just wash the pipes already!

Sort of the green gunk from the tape was the culprit of why i kept getting sticky lips, i really had to use some force to rub that off, right around the mouth piece area.
However now the issue is gone.. Lets all just hope that theres nothing els to worry about from these glasses,

Dude I dont know that seller but it is still the Chinese New Year period in China. The official holiday is over but some factories may be slow to respond for a bit longer.
Jepp,i live in Asia so i know all about the Chinese New Year..but 2018-01-26...recived 10-02..CNY start 16..We will see if i get any response at all..if so i will post that too..dude.

Horrible... not recommended. Just wash the pipes already!
No matter what glass I get I always wash with soapy hot water the repeatedly rinse with warm water. (OCD Master) I normally give all China glass a thorough salt/ISO wash first then the soapy warm water wash next. I've noticed that all my China glass after unwrapping it has a weird film smell to it.

I’m not sure if it’s the tape or the bubble wrap used but all the bongs I have ordered from China smell like plastic/chemicals when I first get them. 
After giving them a good hot water rinse followed by an iso rinse and another hot water rinse the smell is always gone.
