Who/where would be the best place/person to go to for a custom carb cap? and what seems better for the 20mm liger, bubble or disk?

Absolutely. I may have been slow a few times at cleaning up but; I did try to keep it clean. I also would soak it in iso nightly to try and clean it up. Like I said though it would puddle and I kind of sucked the concentrate on the other side of the insert (you can see that from the side shot). From Top down it looks mildly gross

Run it at 1000 degrees for about an hour. It should be clean. Ive cleaned my stuff that way for years. Never had an issue.

I'm not familiar with the pictured insert, was that nasty thing a polished sapphire or just a quarts? I also support the high temp. clean idea. Nothing destroys things better than ungodly high temperatures!

That means you are not going hot enough, long enough. Whatever is coating the dish will definitely turn to white ash if you get it hot enough. Just sucks that the Ti bucket will eventually change colors.

Scrubbing with baking soda and a wet q-tip really does wonders, no high heat needed. Has anyone else tried it yet?
I've had multiple layers baked on my inserts a couple of times now, both the SiC and Quartz. Due to having to disassemble mine to get the inserts out, so I don't end up being able to remove it as often as I'd like. Too much taper and not enough threads on the bucket to screw it flush. Yet they both look new again after a couple quick scrubs.

Also some of this material seems to be inside the Quartz. So I really don't think that getting it that hot is going to help; there's a few spots on the outside I have scrubbed real good only to realize it's more in the ..
It's like the two subjects bonded; I should take some better pictures of it.
But like I said every night I'd pull it out and clean it (cold) in 99% iso and q-tip it and got it nice and clean and over time it just got worse and harder to get clean and it's kind of sitting in retirement now. It hasn't been cleaned so it really is dirty now lol
I was able to scrub some of it; it was hard work using some weird stone like substance that I found at the store that says it can be used to clean glass. (like drinking) pretty weird it like breaks off as it cleans wasn't sure i wasn't going to do damage there.
Like I said if you see the spots on the bottom that's actually in the quartz. Nothing on the surface really
Edit: Also I dab some bubble hash (dry sift, 6-star water hash) and live resin (bho) and shatter (bho) not really anything exotic. I admit I found some Propane / Butane mix (Mk Ultra) really fire but the quartz didn't seem to like it much. Very smokey afterwards and no matter how hard i q-tipped it didn't ever seem to completely come off. So I usually would just let it cool and give it an iso bath.
It started with some Sweet Water Farms (brand) Durban Poison Rosin (solventless obv...) that the terpenes kind of went into the parchment paper... or so it looks; been doing a little research on rosin and found they have heavier parchment paper that can take more pressure...

I just want to say that after having played with different temperatures, I feel like the 30mm SiC dish is giving me much more vapor out of my concentrates than ever before. It's amazing how smooth the vapor can be even when cranked slightly higher than flavor-savoring temperatures while still giving a satisfying hit. Have found myself actively cutting down on the size of the globs I'm loading due to how ridiculously long I find myself hitting it. Also, the terp trunk feels like it's made for the 30mm; it's got perfect adjustable restriction, the ability to chase puddles, and a handle that doesn't get hot when you're taking a 2 minute long rip.

Really won't know because my controller is set to a max heat of 900 and I really don't want to change that setting.
I could run it at 800 for a couple hours but I would rather smell a car exhaust in my house tbh; it won't be pretty 
Edit: the higher the heat the more it stinks; get it above 600 and it's ... regardless thanks for the suggestion i'm not interested however.

@damm What you need sir is 99% ISO (I use the stuff made to clean fiber optic cables so it's pure) and coarse kosher salt. Take your ISO and heat it in the microwave until just before boiling (as the gas is toxic) and almost fill your insert with the kosher salt. You will need something to hold the insert as you poor hot ISO in it but use qtips to push the salt around using it as your abrasive material. I usually use quite a lot of qtips and sometimes have to refill the insert with ISO and salt but it will be 100% clean when done.
@damm I think it is going to stink until it reaches the temp that it eventually turns to ash, but it will definitely turn to ash. Doesnt the Hex-Nail even have a 'cleaning mode' that heats to this temp for a set duration?
Also, if it is thick parchment you want, check out OilSlick brand Slick Paper. It is made for Rosin, and is by far the thickest I have seen

Dude, I couldn't agree more with what you just said. I was going to write an almost identical post. One thing that I think would be cool as hell would be for the terp trunk to be slightly domed on the bottom. That way you could get the action that the hurricane is looking for. I also like that as the terp trunk is so smooth and flat it's easy to accidentally slide it off the bucket enough to break the seal when trying to turn. Or maybe I'm just super uncoordinated. Either way, that seems like the perfect solution as it's effectively a hybrid bubble/disk. Man I wish I knew how to manufacture my ideas...

Pick up some DarkCrystal Clear and pour some in a small container with the insert and then place it in a hot water bath. A few hours and some q-tip scrubbing has gotten them all back to like new condition.This post has gotten a bit quiet (no posts since Monday) so I figured i'd ask a horrible question.
I've used iso and hot iso bath and cold iso and scrubbed the best I could without breaking it; but my gosh it's so gnarly I think it's starting to get a life of it's own.
Best to put it out to pasture right? bury it 500 feet deep at least to ensure no animals find it.

I don't want to go on and on about this subject as I liked my interactions with Josh in the past and really like my 2.0 SiC.
But this whole 3.0 scene is a mess, as it seems is Josh's business practices these days, and I will probably buy a D-nail SiC Halo for my second rig.
I'm not happy to say this, but this is my impressions now after having followed the entire 3.0 thread.

Understandable, but I have placed several orders over the past few weeks and shipping times are greatly (bigly? big league?) improved. At least for 20mm and 16mm items. I think my shipping times have been 3-4 days each time.

HI - availability isn't my only concern but I am perplexed also. Is Josh now shipping full 20 mm kits including SiC inserts without delay?
I am, perhaps, a bit out of date?

Not sure, but I can tell you I ordered new 20mm SiC setup on the 8th and it shipped the following week. With 16mm SiC, I ordered on the 17th and started using it last night.

That's honestly where I went. I use it for my medicine; it gets bad without... and having him be so bad at responses at first didn't seem to bother me; but as time went on it just became a knot in my stomach. It grew over time but @carini 's post about the quartz cracking hit home. After waiting from December (I ordered the 2nd) for the SiC insert ... @herbivore21 's responses won me over on the Halo.
Now I have a backup; and that knot is no longer gone. Josh finally got the SiC insert to me finally... Yeah my Banger is my backup now
Only real complaint I have about the Halo is the carb cap gets hot pretty fast (so does the nail itself) but the fact the flat coil and sic are ... it just works great around 420 on the dish
Extra carb caps are handy; after a few dabs they can get pretty hot and they'll only make the dab harsher.
and D-Nail does support their customers I've had to talk to their support people; next day response (business) on emails. Yes that was really my issue; I don't really want this forum to be my method of support. It's great to be able to talk to other like-minded users with similar issues and get advise; do not get me wrong. But I want it to be that; I don't like watching this thread like it's a support thread. It makes me very sad.
Yeah that's the other issue I had; you never know what he has in stock or when he's going to ship it. Official communication channels seem to be instagram lately... :/

Edit: This is my point. People (other than me) use this forum for support when Josh doesn't even respond on here (anymore) so they won't get the support or response they deserve.

Well i think i got quartz an not sapphire that i ordered cuz mine cracked within 5 days of non heavy use (maybe even days sooner. Realized on 5th day).. I Never iso but did q tip.. Never went over 640 on it either. I went to switch it out for the sic an realized it was shattered crazy.. Still havnt recieved a responce..
