Agreed. I also don't drink so am particularly sensitive to the alcohol buzz that comes along with a dab of the unpurged stuff. Definitely worth evaporating off the remaining ethanol.

How are you finding the CBD oil effects, otherwise?

Just dabbed my almost completely purged CBD with no ethanol left, no more sizzle or bubbling on the nail, much cleaner tasting dab and rock hard shatter which is a dream to handle. This stuff is even better of an effect when it is free of ethanol. Full purge highly recommended to all of you dabbing the concentrates!

I've vaped straight alcohol, it's interesting, not entirely pleasant and the buzz wears off very quickly.

I'm so intrigued by this thread. With my mom in Florida living with chronic pain, she could use this. It's not fair that I'm in Washington state where we have Oompa Loompas concocting every imaginable cannabis product for us, but my mother is denied anything at all other than an ever increasing dosage of narcotics.

I would still really like to see a third party lab's test results on a customer provided sample before I would ingest it myself or consider it for my mom. I'm going to a dispensary with an on-site GC/MS and suspect the owner world be willing to put a sample in the testing queue for the good of society. I'll ask what the minimum sample size is because it might only be a few drops.

Heat. You may also use a vacuum chamber to alter the pressure around your oil in order to use heats normally inappropriate for heat purge at ambient pressure (a vac will really help unless you have something that can heat a vessel to very low enough temperatures accurately and consistently).

I am getting crazy residue on my enail (20mm quartz nail completely painted black!) every time I dab this stuff, I am considering winterizing half of my remaining CBD to see if I can solve this so I don't have to keep cleaning my oil rig so much lol I wonder if it'll come out closer to the nectar colour/clarity?

I have the same issue. I have a cheapo quartz nail from ebay that has become my dedicated CBD nail.

Hoping for a cleaner nail, effect is great already as we all know but if winterizing saves me cleaning my whole oil rig 5-10 times a day then all the better

My white ceramic enail (picked up 710 Whip on sale for $100) also gets painted black from the CBD oil. I just torched the dish clean a few minutes ago and a single dab in it already looks like hell.

lol exactly, and with the stupidly expensive quartz which is my only nail for the d-nail just now, I am not game to torch it clean! I clean it with iso when it has fully cooled only!

Apologies for double post guys, but thought I should report back to say winterization has definitely cleaned some waxy/planty looking stuff out, but not huge amounts. I will take a snap of the filter after the last of the solution has filtered through to show you guys. The final product will still be dark (can see this from the colour of the solution as it purges), but this is not unusual depending on strain.

I am most interested to see firstly if the nail gets painted black after dabbing now and secondly if I can get it to shatter

Ok, here's the dab report:

First of all, I put in about 5g or so, pulled out about .3g of really fine granular dark green plant material seen above.

Then purged out the ethanol. I am now getting a sap/shatter consistency which is very easy to handle and get on/off oil slicks. When I dab, I do still get noticably more residue than my own extremely high quality shatters (which generally leave the nail nearly crystal clear after days of dabbing lol) - however the nail is not absolutely painted black in the same way it was before winterizing.

I have definitely decided though that cbd oil gets it's own pipe (my trusty steamroller courtesy of @canj00digit? ) and when cash allows, quartz or ceramic nail to hook up to my dnail.

This stuff is gonna be a mainstay of my daily routine from here on in. I'll be winterizing and fully purging my oils upon receiving them in future but I make absolutely no hesitation in recommending Omega Labs' products. The residual ethanol is clearly there for easy oral ingestion of actives and there is a very small amount of plant material in their concentrate as we can see from this experiment!

The one I linked to is a barrel style for round coils, they have those now in addition to the ones for flat coils.

This changes things! For now the steam roller has an a cheap quartz 18mm nail/globe to give my torch some extra work. I actually much prefer the cbd vapor dry, it comes on in a much better way!

I do find that dosage is different now since winterizing thoroughly and purging. Also the taste is much, much better and the vapor much less harsh/dry. I would suggest that those of you who dose orally keep the concentrates as they arrive and use them according to instructions.

For everyone of you who want to dab these oils, I would suggest fully purging all remaining ethanol with a heat purge/vac/both. Winterizing is more for the purists like myself - there is very little plant matter in this oil!

Ethanol, even in relatively high concentrations is not particularly harmful to dab like some other solvents can be, but it still definitely makes the vapor taste a bit bitter and feel harsh and dry on the mouth/throat. You won't die, but why not make the experience more pleasant?

EDIT: @canj00digit? any idea what the side carb option on the domeless ceramic nail means? I cannot imagine why you would want a carb hole in a nail if that is what it means lol

You inspired me to take a dry dab of CBD on the quartz bucket through a dry rig.

As for the side carb, I will make a post in the next gen enail thread as not to derail this thread any further.

Does it sound like it will be on par with the Omega Labs reviews? I like that this company seems to have a professional base to it and is trying to publicly gain momentum for acceptance.... That being said I hope it does just that and more mom and pop places start selling proper.

And these seem like they're going to be high quality (but maybe a bit expensive).
But, from a quick read and guess, the benefit of them is probably going to be very reliable ultra low THC(A) content.

A new CBD e-liquid will appear in France on January 2015 : Kanavape at http://kanavape.com/. (5% CBD - C02 extraction). If I'm not wrong, Omega Labs e-liquid shatter (1000mg) is 6% CBD.

It's a very good news for us European and also french people that vendors with CBD products begin to show up here!
