This is really outstandingly good news at not only will it mean that DEA stops cannabis prosecutions, but university and private research into the many and varied implications of cannabis use can now proceed full steam(vapor!) ahead.

It's sort of good news... I guess. Schedule III seems like it would be great for big pharma somehow. I'm worried that's the end of it and it won't be federally legal anytime soon.

It needs to be treated like alcohol... They need to go ahead and deschedule it already. :nope:

Unfortunately, I agree 100%. This is just their latest move in the war on drugs. If they won’t legalize, vote them out.

Amendment killing nationally legal cannabis makes it into House farm bill​

A ban on intoxicating hemp products has made it into the House version of the farm bill.

If the amendment makes it through a polarized House and divided Congress, it would end America’s brief experiment with nationally legal cannabis.


The language added to the House version of the farm bill by Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.) in effect repeals a sweeping legal change passed by an all-Republican coalition in 2018’s farm bill.

The good news is, Biden probably won't sign this. Because eventually the staffer trying to explain to him what Delta-8 or THCA is will give up and say "it's mids, Mr. President". And there's no way fuckin he's banning mids:

Really well-written comprehensive read. I can easily imagine the same thing happening in Maine, next door to where I live in NH. There are now 11 medical and recreational cannabis shops in the nearest little town to me, and more still opening. This prices--low low low!- and quality-outstanding!--have become insane. But I don't think it can be sustained.

Good article, one I would call accurate.

As I am in Tejas, I remember when the streets flooded with Colorado Mota. With NM legal, and I am but 2 hours from the NM line. It's an easy run. More and more approach this the same way, and NM has Mountains.... :)

Cali.... or Tax-i-fornia... nuff said !

Big New York Times piece on problems facing legal MJ in NY and other legal states. Mostly focused on why there are so many illegal shops and how that damages both legal shops and users, who end up consuming pesticides and other chemicals with their weed, and on the addictive(for thirty or so percent of users, who buy 80% of all weed sold) nature of the weed in the context of legal sales. Not sure I agree with the author but well worth a read for those who like to be informed.

The Real Problem With Legal Weed​

New York is trying to treat an addictive substance just like any other product

It's looking like the "cannabis industry" is gonna be poorly managed from now on. I'm guessing there was a better way to live rather than in a country hung up on corrupt capitalism. Here's a recent article showing Oklahoma has a completely different serious set of problems. There are over 2000 dispensaries and 3400 growers in the state. The OMMA is focused on shutting down illegal growers and is lax regarding quality regulations. Businesses that follow the rules are at a disadvantage and most are struggling to survive. Some top notch, trustworthy growers have shut down in the past year. It seems the larger, less-reputable growers are taking over. A disgruntled employee released a scathing report complete with photos exposing two big growers for breaking all of the health and safety rules. That got my attention so this is my first backporch autoflower experiment on day 77, Tropicana Cookies from Fast Bud. It likes the intense heat wave. Actually I think it's shading the excellent grow medium and plenty of food and water that's keeping it alive. Almost idiot proof...if I can do it, anyone can. 🤪
