I think you are probably right that squelching small recreational grows is an attempt to protect big growers and tax revenues. That said, it's kind of a dumb thing. In the end very few people will ever grow their own - too far out of the box. It won't cut into big canna revenue and it will have negligible effect on tax revenues. It's like people who grow tomatoes at home. They have no effect on the big growers of tomatoes. Or folks who make their own beer. There is enough room in this market for everybody.
True, but tomatoes aren’t $200 an ounce. If we could pick up cannabis at a dispensary for the price of other produce, few would be looking to home grow.

There's also links on the page to heart health & pregnancy vaping.
This is fairly old news. The article also ignores the fact that smoking cannabis seldom causes cancer in spite of producing some of the same combustion by-products - there appear to be interactions between the various components in cannabis that cancel out some of the harm. That said, um, fuck combustion.

USDA Releases Final Rule For Hemp, Two Years After Crop Was Federally Legalized

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Friday announced that it has finalized federal regulations for hemp. Industry stakeholders say they’re encouraged by improvements from initial interim rules but see room for additional changes, which they hope will come about under the incoming Biden administration.

Putin is a War Criminal
I think the above is correct. While President Biden himself is no fan of cannabis legalization, nearly everyone else in his admin is, even if it is only in the name of racial justice. Clearly the cannabis laws have never been applied fairly.

Schumer Hosts First Marijuana Meeting To Formulate 2021 Federal Legalization Plan

Key U.S. Senate leaders held a meeting with marijuana stakeholders on Friday, the first formal step toward crafting a new bill to federally legalize cannabis.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) heard from a group of advocates and stakeholders as the trio prepares to unveil draft reform legislation “in the early part of this year.”

The Half-Legal Cannabis Trap

In LA, people are getting arrested for what they think are legit jobs in the pot business. Will “decriminalization” just spread the problem nationwide?

37 Members Of Congress Ask Biden To Issue Mass Marijuana Pardons Ahead Of Legalization

Thirty-seven members of Congress sent a letter to President Biden on Thursday, calling on him to use executive authority to mass pardon all people with non-violent federal marijuana convictions.

The ask for this unique form of presidential clemency is based on actions taken by Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter in the 1970s to categorically forgive Americans who avoided the draft for the Vietnam War.

Marijuana foes deploy new ‘playbook’ to thwart state legalization, upend election results

Efforts to thwart voter-approved marijuana legalization in Mississippi, Montana and South Dakota are evidence of a “playbook” that reflects new legal strategies and greater willingness among local government officials to nullify election results, experts say.

Those efforts – led by anti-marijuana politicians and other opponents – threaten to stop or delay the implementation of new medical and recreational cannabis markets that would generate hundreds of millions of dollars in sales a year.

America's Next Generation Of Legal Marijuana: New State Laws Focus On Racial Equity

https://www.npr.org/2021/02/22/9702...arijuana-new-state-laws-focus-on-racial-equit
It's been almost a decade since Washington and Colorado became the first states in America to legalize recreational marijuana. Now a new generation of states are wrestling with how to do it with a focus on racial equity that was missing from early legalization efforts.

It's about time! The drug wars have been used to unequally imprison minorities since the beginning.
It's an issue that MUST be addressed in addition to legalization.
