Cannabis Hardware (formerly NewVape) FlowerPot Twax Vaporizer

Have been allowed to vape again for one day lately, so I put my Showerhead on my brand new Mobius. Mixed a little bit home grown Sativa with some great Moroccan Culero I could get my hands on.

Put way to much in my FP and ended up so stoned, never got so stoned from vaping only.
The NewVape gear is fucking awesome, effective as hell and giving a great taste. Can only recommend.

Do you preheat the carb cap?

And dont leave it on between inhales.

I dont have a huge amount to add these days! I still love the FPSH, its still my fave vape so far. I still have no reason to look for any other vape any more (unless I idly go looking around one day and see a bunch of you saying how x is so much better than anything else on the market, you hyping bastards! :) ). I'd still love some sort of glass insert, pure glass air path, a non ti dab surface, but really, all my main criteria for a vape have for the first time in years been satisfied with this beast. Its taken me quite a few vapes to get here!

Also, I just havent had anything to put in the damn thing for a while. But today someone gifted me a little crumble and thought I'd try a quick video. Shit lighting but you get the idea of how my new glass works at least -

It works really well without water too. The D020 I cant use without water, no feedback, like others have mentioned. With the TAG piece in the above video, its really easy to use without water. I might switch for a week, see if I get used to it. I wasnt that keen on this glass at first but now I've completely retired the D020, I can take much bigger hits than I could with the D020 too. I love this TAG piece now.

I'm def going to go to a different piece of glass tho and I think I know which one at last.

This takes a tiny amount of water -

The only other thing I can add is that the 6 hole showercap works like gang busters with flower, still permacapped over here. 6 holes still has the wide open airflow of the SH but much faster extraction, and no restriction like the one hole cap (admittedly this is less of a contrast on the newer, lighter multicap). I still use the one hole cap for dabs tho, six hole dabs aint so hot, literally.

If anyone is still on the fence about whether to get the the FPSH or not, get it!

Have you tried to compare it to a straight convection dab in the SH? If only there was an item similar to a stainless concentrate pad that created a great surface area combined with good airflow...and not made of stainless. The ceramic discs that 7th Floor sells have the surface area but are total crap for airflow. Flower itself is a great solution, but that adds another layer of flavor that makes a pure convection dab ...not so pure. Are there any Ti compressed wire concentrate pads out there? NewVape I'm lookin at YOU to fill this void!

A glass frit disc that fit the bowls' width perfectly would be great too.

Yup, I've tried it all. I find I need higher temperatures for convection concentrates in the showerhead. But I also find pretty weak vapor production (for dabbing) in the Showerhead (surprising considering the huge amount of surface area in the SH trough) without the PID being fairly high also, which increases the residual hot air production. Not shitting on the SH, I love this vape, but I can finally see a potential drawback to having both in one device after thousands of hours of use.

I'm not really a fan of those concentrate pads, they work just like a wax pen coil and cause reclaim tastes since they can't be cleaned without a deep solvent soak. Frit would be cleaner tasting and more in my wheelhouse, but again difficult to clean. 4-5 years ago before the big dab boom when scientific glass was at its peak, there was a popular one called the Dave Goldstein Rooster Apparatus which used a lab style fritted disc. People were smoking bong loads through these things and putting them away cause they couldn't clean the frit.

I like flower too for a convection dab surface, I just feel like the flower tends to be done before the oil which creates some waste. Not sure about Ti pads, brother @steama and some of the other OGs were rocking a stack of double weave screens to fill that void.

I've been wondering why I don't get so high with a dab off the showerhead!it's not the showerhead in paricular,it's the carb cap!!!half of my concentrate gets stuck to the carb cap.

Do you have the original thick stainless steel showercap, or the newer titanium version? I notice the same on my SS, even with long preheats.

Was it capped for convection? You've tested so much, I assume so.

The tc was placed right around where the screen goes in the bowl. I'm sure that the temp would be somewhat hotter higher up in the "system" closer to the SH, but still not hotter than the dish IMO.

:peace:

Thanks for that info Stu. I guess I am still thinking it would be hottest as the vapor reaches the section where the coil is mounted; curious what the temperature of the heat exchanger sidewalls is about 1/2-1" down, I assume the vapor reacts off the hot Ti as its channeled through, the same way it heats room temperature air to temperatures high enough to vaporize. Theoretically I believe it could be interpreted as a benefit that the vapor stays heated to reduce condensation, but do wonder how that affects degradation of delicate terpenes.

Anyone tried some good quality super-soaked caviar in the FP Bowlski?

 @Danksta

Capped at 800F on the PID (re-posted vid)

So @invertedisdead are you suggesting NewVape play with a SH with no dabbing surface?

Because I can get down with that. Less metal for the coil to heat. :D

Yeah, I've mulled the idea of this over before. I would also be down with it. No dab surface, just maybe a dab insert instead, still with enough room for a little flower in the bowl too :)

Really tho, I'd be happy with just a flower only SH and no insert :)

So
Less metal for the coil to heat. :D

Your refrigerator works best when mostly full; the goods hold the temp and the unit doesn't need to kick on as much. Same for the mass of metal being heated. You actually want more mass(to a point!) to hold more heat. The amount of metal that comprises the dish is negligible in the over all considering the density of the core.

The dabless SH head though? Considering the WrapAround, personally I'm a fan of that idea. The dual port PID with two units ready to rock at any moment...beautious.

...And the Quad output could have 3 different units...just sayin.

+1 for more mass SH.

Dabbing only with my HN and 25mm bangers lately..

SH is still king of the playground here for flowers, taste and effects are unrivaled.

can't wait to have another HN just for the SH

What would be the benefits of such a pairing?

Maybe not but I find dabbing off of Ti to taste awful.

Makes me wonder about metal cookware!

I actually suggested that back in August

What about a showerhead with a built in carb cap/restriction instead of a dab surface? Seems for flower only that would be ideal to not need to use the carb cap.

That was before I even had a Showerhead. A troughless version would be cool to use on smaller pipes that the dish is otherwise in the way of.

The amount of metal that comprises the dish is negligible in the over all considering the density of the core.

That's exactly what makes me wonder about sending concentrate vapor through the core.

You can fine tune the parameters of the PID, (good. very good. much more potential than the default one. Different connection though... so the coils aren't compatible) and also see a real time graph/ability to log everything/aesthetics
