I have no worries that the vrod would have harsher vapor than the WA or halo on a slim base, but that's just my experience. I've never tried the vrod yet so I dunno for sure, but the WA and slim base both are smooth as can be for me! I've actually dropped my temps down from 620ish to 580F to savor more of the flavors.

I think the rig plays the biggest role to vapor smoothness, and the dish for vapor flavor.
@biohacker ’s sensitive though! ;)

I am pretty sensitive to hot metal taste and didn’t like dabbing from the showerhead due to the ti dish. I feel like the material you dab from has a big impact on taste. The airpath not as much. I really like the vrod for dabbing. I can go lower on temps than any other head. Since NewVape came out with the wraparound head I haven’t used my slim base at all and I don’t notice the ti in the airpath. I have say that I have only used the slim base with the 710 whip though and not a true flat coil.

Once I can get my 18mm glass FP bowl in my 14mm oil rig I plan to check to see if the flavor is better for dabs in the WA halo dish only (no flower). That was part of the reason I bought the glass bowl, the other is I hope it doesn't reclaim as much as the Ti bowls. We'll see but I'll report back as it's an easy comparison with the bowl and that reduces the Ti surface area the vapor is passing through dramatically, that may even be less Ti than say the Halo + slim base at that point?

It's @biohacker's theory that it will make the vapour hotter as it heats it after extraction more ... convective style units that work well work on the concept of increasing the heated surface area (along with other factors such as air pressure etc) that the air travels through in order to increase the consistency of the heated air (ie. VXL EVO, NewVape ShowerHead, Supreme V3/V4, etc., etc.)
I find this interesting. The vapes I cant tolerate like FP, GS, EVO etc, surely all have a much greater heated surface area than the ones I do handle well, particularly Herbo Ti and Elev8r.

Are we on to something?

I would really like to hear more comparisons against the flowerpot w showerhead vs the vrod. FOR PURELY FLOWER!!! I mean it cant be night and day. I was looking at my showerheads contact points today, and while yes the vrod has more. The largest contact points on both cover about 80% of the heating elements. Yes its not as tight of a seal. So maybe the vrod has a better seal and works better at lower temps? Could you not just change the airflow and the temp on the showerhead to get the same result in reality?

While I have never tried the ssv It has a very similar flow to the extreme q. as in you probably load them roughly the same. and clean them same. whip and glass ect.
I appreciate your post and outlook on the units... but I hate the idea of discussing the Q Vs. the SSV here in the FP thread.
I own 3 Q's and all are designated as community loaners. They come no where close to emulating the power and efficiency of the SSV.
Back on track, as I said I would discuss this freely in the SSV or Extreme Q thread.... but out of respect for the FP thread, I will agree that the FP KILLS the Extreme Q.
The "Q" for me is an adequate loaner/substitute for patients that are in between units, or having their units re-conditioned/repaired.
But as yourself...
i found myself having to replace parts often from how much it got used between me and my friends that come over.

I dont think you really understood the point I was trying to get across. I said that I have no idea how the ssv tastes or creates vapor. I was refering to the new vape the whole time in the sense I was saying that the new vape has a quicker flow. less cleaning. easier to change the herb out. quicker to use the herb. Im sure the ssv creates great vapor but i was only comparing the style of vape the q and ssv. not right down to the heating element. but the whip, shape, ect. One thing i was commenting on was the durability. the flowerpot will always be more durable than both of those units. Im sure the ssv vapor is miles ahead of the q but i was trying to comment on the flow of use. not the vapor quality.

Well I got it looking SOMEWHAT better than before.. Took me a couple hours of sanding with various grits. I tried polishing it first, as suggested, but it didn't take off the colored oxidation layer. I'm going to pick up some proper polish tomorrow and see if I can get it looking any better now that I've sanded it down.

Got to meet the newvape team at the cup this last weekend and try the VROD. They are great and friendly people! Can't wait to see what they do next.

Ok I'll weigh in on all of this, to me all the heads have a place, in someones collection, I have the shower, wraparound, and now the VROD. The showerhead is awesome and no one on here should feel like it isn't an amazing performing head because it holds its own. I will probably still use the wrap around because I have a sic dish on it and don't want to buy one for the VROD just yet but I would only use it if I was doing concentrates, don't like it with flower. VROD has the quartz dish so I'm excited to try that and I'll have to do some testing with just flower threw it. All in all my opinion is no one should feel like they have to jump on VROD (that sounds dirty) because it will be the game changer, it's just another option. If you have the have all the things like me then sure, but there is nothing wrong with the other heads if you don't want to pull the trigger just yet

I’m sure we’ll get more comparisons soon, but I doubt there will be any big surprises. According to the few who have tried it and posted about it, the VRod gives just about the same results as the ShowerHead for flower, but at a lower temperature due to better contact with the coil. This makes sense since the VRod is based on the ShowerHead’s design with a better coil fit and dish options.

I’m sure some people will slightly prefer one or the other, but I would be very surprised if there were many people who thought that either was dramatically better for flower.

For concentrates though, unless you like dabbing off of Ti (which really isn’t bad, but I hear SiC is much better), the VRod is an easy choice.

My SSVs (I own a few) have been on 24/7 for 8 years straight are is ready to hit 24/7. I have never had to replace any part on them.
The Extreme Q units are hungry beasts that have required many parts replaced, and have all had to have work done over a period of a few years... and they take time to heat up.
The FP, however only takes a short time to heat up, but I never leave it on unattended.

Hey all , New Glass bowls for the FlowerPot are all ready that I had posted about a few weeks ago. Two options , one that will ship from the U.S. for a drop more money and One that will ship from China for a bit cheaper. I vouch for the seller as I have purchased direct from them from China on Dhgate a few times with no issues.

U.S. Shipping 14mm Glass Bowl ( $25) : https://www.ebay.com/itm/253670318393

China Shipping ( $16) : https://www.ebay.com/itm/253670290774

I personally do not have it in my hands yet but a friend of mine does who I trust greatly. The glass is thick and they work well. I should have one in my hands shortly and will post some info when I do.

Jut ordered one from ebay USA, thank you. Do you plan to put a screen in the bottom or just use more coarse grind??

18mm male version is about 3-4 weeks away. For now, a simple $5 bushing adapter will get the taper you want , it is easier to scale 14mm up than to try and reduce 18mm for small inlet pipes, which is the reason 14mm was initially chosen.

@Baron23 i will try it with out a screen but with a fine grind will most likely either use a screen or some hemp fiber . I have not tried it yet but my source who is not the maker of them but someone who had them made and is using them at the moment said they work great and had been developing them for some time now and I have 100% trust in them . I should have them in my hand in a few days .

@Justpassedu Interesting.... that built in screen will change the dynamic by adding some restriction. Perhaps exactly what some people want/need for the SH! I bet it's going to be a real milker!

I was thinking all the holes would make for less draw restriction when used with the SH. Some of the single-hole glass bowls (and even some star screen) seem to have WAY too much drag... makes using them kind of a drag too! :)

I guess I should have been more clear, I meant vs the stock FP bowl/screen :) Or a glass bowl without a built-in screen, should such a thing exist! :D

Vitolo, I suspect I'll be saying the same thing as you, at least I hope so as I value your feedback.

I have two Da Buddha's (One in Negril, Jamaica and one stateside) and they work (I suspect) very similar to the SSV. I agree they are easily as durable as the FlowerPot and unlike the FlowerPot I would be willing to leave my Da Buddha on 24/7. That said I do not find using them to be as pleasurable as using the FlowerPot. The FlowerPot for me extracts better and more quickly. I can micro dose with the FlowerPot whereas the Da Buddha is not really setup for that without modifications. I would also say I find the 'vaping ceremony' with the FlowerPot to be more enjoyable than the Da Buddha. It's akin to comparing a DynaVap Vapcap to smoking, the FlowerPot just ticks all my boxes for an enjoyable series of actions leading to a very predictable result.

With the FlowerPot I can get the clouds exactly how I like them with the same setup and material every single time. The experience (ceremony), the taste, the cloud density and the effects are easily reproduced with little to no effort on my part. I just cannot say that about any other vape I own and have used, a fact I cannot ignore. While I use my FlowerPot every evening, I am just amazed at what I get with so little effort. Last night after using it since early evening I took two nightcap draws from my FlowerPot and they were just perfect. I cannot reproduce hits like that back to back on any other vape that I have with so little work and material.

My Da Buddha here is gathering dust waiting in the wings as a backup along with my Herbalizer, which BTW I would grab before the Da Buddha. I'm not sure I need either as I have a fully redundant FlowerPot setup (Redundant PIDs, multiple glass pieces and redundant coils). If I pick up the VRod then I'll have redundant heads. If I had #FlowerPower! years ago with my ArGo fuck yourself and my DynaVaps I very much doubt I would own any of these other vapes I have, it's just that good imho.

The only way it could get better for me would be to have a portable way to use the FlowerPot without a large battery or outlet to plug into. I 'd like to think there is a way to do this with propane without getting those fumes in the air path. It would be more work, but less gear to haul around and no battery to worry about dying.

Thanks for putting up with this long diatribe of a post. Respect! -YaMon
