@killick my awesome retired doctor neighbor is my best friend I've met since moving here. He and I don't have shit to do but walk dogs in the woods. He's taught me how to hunt mushrooms and dig for razor clams on the mud flats on the coast. He certainly makes up for the fact that my asshole neighbor at the bottom of the hill is willing to allow her dogs to kill me.
Before we moved, I was an educator at a science museum. We had one of the very last analog film IMAX theaters, and what I believe to be the last analog domed theater on earth (It's truly an inferior design that ruins the edges of the films, although it looks freaking cool as hell). I recall one day I saw that the entire Star Trek Into Darkness on 70mm IMAX film was literally tossed in the dumpster in the alley. It very well might have been the only film print made of that movie and IMAX instructed us to dispose of it. I've got a few cells I was able to steal of the Enterprise going into warp and also what I assume is the Spock and Kirk death scene between the glass wall. (I admit I didn't see the movie even though I am a huge sci-fi fan). They were going to shut down the theater for seating remodel when I became disabled and had to resign my position. So maybe I can call a local theater, talk to the manager, and come in to see what I need to bring to make myself comfortable because this is the only movie I've wanted to see in IMAX in years, and I've seen everything that ever came through our museum fifty times! Ha!
