Boundless Tera

So if the Tera was designed to have a teflon shock absorber, which is now removed with nothing to replace it, does that mean it will be more fragile and prone to failure at that point?
Also a good question I asked myself already. Seen pictures of faces after a vaporizer "exploded".
In that context, if they remove the ahsorber in favor of reputation - teflon is fine but to calm the crowd we remove it - but now there is a higher risk of the vape getting too hot or short circuited - or whatever exactly a shock absorber prevents - does that make me trust the product or company now? Some honest answers from Boundless would be great.

On a live stream just prior to the release of the v3, eric had the v3 heater components laid out on a table showing the SS wraps that had replaced the Teflon. I asked how the shock absorption was addressed, and he indicated that they beefed up the bottom section of the heater, along with swapping out the teflon, to minimize any movement. It sucks that instragram live streams are not retained for long b/c they go thru a lot of info during their livestreams. Over the last couple of streams ago they discussed the CFV2.0 and the fact that they have done away with Teflon and/or tape on all of their units, and that they planned on having PIU do a tear down of the CFV2.0. On their live streams, they always address everyone's questions.

Last stream, I asked about when tera spare parts would be available to order just to make sure I have backups, and even tho eric indicated that would put those up with the next shipment, he asked what parts I needed and seemed prepared to get parts out to me anyway if I needed them to get me back up&running. Call me a fanboy idc but in my opinion since the v2 debacle, they've been transparent about everything and have turned things around in my book. I find the tera seamless in both operation, functionality and performance - my only complaints are too much silicone and plastic in the mouthpieces. Removing the silicone pieces that retain in the screen in the mouthpieces I feel exposes the plastic to too much heat, so hopefully MPs with more SS and glass and less silicone and plastic will be available from boundless or other vendors/mods.

I tried reading all here carefully, focusing on post from Boundless as opinions are good to have but nothing official. My question was if there was a statement and/or call back from Boundless. So far the answer to that seems still no.

I get your opinions and that you want to be safe, noted. My concern is not to buy the v2 and be cheap, don't know why you interpret my post in that way? My concern is if I can trust Boundless with my health at all. You claim health is your concern too. Why are you not more skeptical then?
Just watched the teardown from puffitup. All he states there is that the teflon was "somewhat of a concern". All he "proves" there is that the v3 he had there had no teflon anymore.

Exactly my question! Boundless acknowledged those stress tests may 8th. Sounds like you got that info after the stress test? Please let us know if you hear something else.

Glad that you got an answer. I did not get any so far.

And please guys calm down and don't interpret my posts here being pro or con Boundless. Maybe they are the best and most caring about my health, maybe they just try to handle their public relation nightmare and please the crowd with their statements ... I don't know enough to make that decision so far, that's why I ask questions. I wrote to Boundless, no answer, I post here, no reaction either. Eric obviously follows this thread and could answer these questions here. Why he did not? Maybe did not get to it till now, maybe because they don't want more controversy anymore ... I don't know. Last post from Boundless was one month ago.

To summarize answers so far:

ad 1) The serial number at the bottom and the pre placed screen in the chamber.
ad 2) At one point Boundless stated it is save but they will remove it from future products:

They offer "compensation" and replacements. But no call back or statement that it is not save to use as far as I can see.
ad 3) Good news - I guess - namastevape do not offer version 2 anymore. So it might not have been a legit offer.

Dude I linked a post from Eric asking people with v2's to send an email for an exchange, what else you need?

On top of that, Randy from puffitup, one of the best and more respected sellers is telling you it isn't safe at high Temps. Dunno mate but that's more than enough for most people.

Do as you want, at the end of the day is just your health :tinfoil:

The instagram live streams are priceless in my opinion. It's like behind the scenes action, the are very informative and transparent. You can ask them pretty much anything, I think that is one thing that's swaying me to get a tera now- will be ordering at the end of the month.

There is a way that you can save things on instagram stories but not entirely sure if the live videos are saveable - even then only the host can see it but can possibly repost it.

We need more manufacturers who do things like this in my opinion, more interaction with the customer. I really get the impression that they listen and care about the safety of their product.

Boundless hats anyone?

me 2. I don't know its specs/price just yet but I guess they feel it fills a gap in their product line - low end convection maybe?
I think they are still selling the CFV No??? I do remember seeing something from the CHAMPS show pics thats probably what your referring to. Did not know they would be bring that out before anything else though.

:) Seriously, relax. I read your post, I read all of Boundless (eric) posts. I don't need more to know that absolutely no one recommends using the v2. If you try to read my posts with an open mind you might get that I am more concerned about my health than you are about yours ... :horse:

See, I don't get why Boundless does not use that "priceless" videos and put them on their youtube channel. All that's there is superficial basic stuff, nice animation but no infos further, talking about transparency.

@MinT & @onk - I posted a few pages back the technique I used to get the internal Teflon to degrade. I don’t recommend using V2.
Saw your stress test, thanks for that! And yes, no one recommends using v2.

Thanks for all the infos! Would love to see that video, would help a lot with trust. I guess I am done searching for answers. Will give the Tera a try, hope it won't blow up in my face :rip:

Thank you all for your answers!

Not sure if this mouthpiece mod has been posted. This one requires no disassembly of the existing mouth pieces beyond taking off the silicone piece that holds the screen. Arizer stems once again fit perfectly, the WPA pictured is the PVHS Shorty Turbo so the airflow is almost better than the stock Tera WPA.

Here it is at 360 with the WPA

Realllly thinking about getting the black stems because of how good they would look.

How's the draw resistance, did you keep the screen in the chamber?
My mod is similar but I used the silicone from the mouthpiece and inserted a basket screen to filter out debris.

I really like it with the dry mouth piece, gives a little resistance to help build vapor. The WPA is less restricted so it's awesome through water. I like them better than the stock ones for sure. I've been using the stock mouthpiece as a lid to keep out dust when not in use.

I can't throw up any pics right now, but the screen I put inside to catch reclaim has done it's job. AFter about two weeks, the elbow screen inside the WPA has collected a ton of reclaim. It works really well.

@PaperClouds can u share a bit more about your setup and maybe show pics of the underside of your mod? I see that you are using the PVHS Shorty Turbo but for what arizer unit and what is that black piece at the bottom?

Awesome mod. Saved the Tera for me. Gotta love those Arizer stems.
