Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

If you measure the ELBs, they don't touch the bottom of the CF or the CFX. Average basket length 25.25 mm , average oven depth 25.35.
The inside of the top hat is inside the ELB. It has to stretch the screen of the top hat and the basket over the little ridge ring in the mp. That being said, press down on the mouthpiece when installing with the ELB in the oven.
Gotta hold your mouth right for it to install right. It goes back easy after the first installation. I think you are stretching the two screens at the top of the basket to fit on the mouthpiece.
To be clear I have used twenty-four (24) Elbs on both my CF and CFX, and have never had to squish down the basket, just stretch the top of the screen. I'm just adding my two cents. Doc

Great explaination @Dynalowrider

It looks to me like that "little ridge ring in the mp" has worn down so that even new baskets with new tops go in now without any trouble. Now that the ridge has worn down, it's like the elb's were made for my CFX.

@hillbill was talking about the bottom basket. Some people gently deform the bottom of the bottom basket so that it will be slightly shorter.

I, on the other hand, firmly push the mouthpiece down on the basket and twist it back and forth until it will finally turn. Works every time.
with top part in basket?

Yes. With the top part in the basket. However, you don't really even need the top basket if you keep the screen in the mp. I took my mp screen out for better draw.
I will probably take my screen mod out as well what temp is best for elb?

If you hold your mouth right you will get the screen stretched. I leave the screen in the mp for reclaim. I have one in the WPA also for reclaim. Doc

ELBs I have will not fit my particular CFX just by forcing, but that is with top basket on or on the mouthpiece. I have tanks for my wife who drives the CFX and she really likes them. They hold less but are very neat and clean and fast loading. I have 10 tanks for Flowermates and use with or without them when I want.

Loose, no tamp whatsoever. Personally I fill until about the 3/4 mark, but others seem to like to load less. I do stir in between hits.

Edit: so sorry actually...i saw elb and thought i was in the evo thread. Disregard my post - I don't use the elb mod in my cfx.

Loose for CFX and tight for Flowermates (conduction). No stirring with fairly loose grind needed.

Got a CFX...does the plastic taste go away ever?

Long ago gone for me. What i've read is just putting a couple of bowls of the good stuff through it erases the taste. If you feel like it you can ISO wash the mouthpiece assembly also (just remove the rubber o-ring between the two halfs first). Keep in mind that if your brain is looking for a particular scent, sometimes you'll smell it, no matter what.

Hey guys,
long time lurker, I read the whole post - that was hard, I'm not gonna lie, but very informative indeed!
I'm about to buy me a CF.
Since there aren't physical shops where I live (Europe), I want to order everything I'll need at once, namely the vape, the WPA, and the items for the mods some of you use - and of the dedicated post on 420vapezone.

The websites I was checking out are vaposhop.com and vapstore.de, with preference for the latter 'cause there's no shipping fee.
Are these and these a good solution? I read you need 13.8mm screens, but it looks like I can only really find 12.7mm ones. Would those work as well?

If you would be so kind to point out the right parts from the websites above, or if you wanna suggest other online shops that I overlooked, that would be great!

Thanks :)

Welcome @BaroneBarra There are no head shops where I live either. I find it is cheaper to purchase things in the USA. If people were there to bring the package that would be great, but postage most places is more reasonable than purchasing from EU.

If you call Randy at Puffitup.com he will help you get everything you need in a "one stop shop" which may very well be less expensive than EU websites even when postage is considered.

I don't want to slam the CF, but you should read the 9 page thread about the Vivant Alternate. I think the fact that the Alternate has user swappable batteries is enough to warrant another few pages to read.

Thanks sickmanfraud!

I took a quick look at Puffitup. The Vivant would be 152$ shipped to Belgium, while buying the CF from a EU website would cost me around 136$. The Vivant, as I understand is rather recent, is not available yet in Europe.

Not a big difference in price, I have to say. My biggest concern tho is the whole warranty/possible return of faulty unit/maybe costum fees? problem.

I'm going to take a look at the Vivant Alternate thread. At a first glance, it looks like a great product, the swappable battery would be a great feature indeed.

I kinda hate you for making me question my decision, now that I had finally made up my mind!

No but jokes aside, thanks a lot for your help :)

EDIT: I've read the thread and now I want an Alternate....damn you!

EDIT2: I've just ordered the Alternate from PIU. Yay!

What ever happened to the "FILLING FUNNEL" for the CF and CFX. I use the ELB mod, but once and awhile I have friends over. That being said, filling the whole oven is the best way to pass these vapes at a gathering.
I'm tired of cleaning out the groove everytime I fill it.
I was told it would be available in Nov. I have found out how to get the scale off the sides of the oven, so.
Here I sit with a broken heart, Waiting for a Boundless part. Doc
