Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

I thought that the paint problem with the CFV was with the mouthpieces that were replaced already?

The only problem with the CFV mouthpieces has been the internal o-ring not sealing properly. Thats what was fixed. The paint on the two are the same. You can ISO the plastic mouthpiece you suck from, but not the whole mouthpiece unit like you can with the CF/X. You have to swab out the inside of the CFV mouthpiece with a q-tip instead, which is less optimal.

The CF / CFX mouthpiece is absolutely fine to soak in ISO - I've done it numerous times on mine without noticing anything change. You'll want to remove the rubber o-ring around the two halfs of the mouthpiece first. Rinse and dry thoroughly. It's the CFV mouthpiece you dont want to ISO, because of the paint finish.

Thanks I thought the mouthpiece u inhale from was the piece on both that would get destroyed the paint in iso. So which piece should touch Iso so I know for sure.

The CFX is still my go to for company it when out with people. Still works great, no issues! Replaced the elb top with just a SS screen in mouth section. Works much nicer IMO, thanks @stickstones for the info a few months ago I believe was your post that recommended just a normal screen

Boundless tanks have been working well here. We just fill them with little tamping and my wife uses it at 425* and the spent herb looks like dark roast coffee. First draw is not much. By the third draw....bingo.

My CFX the same thing. The top bar continues to flash even after three hours on the fast charger. I'm thinking that it's a normal indication. Anyone else?

If you have the CF or CFX (which is this thread), you can ISO wash the entire mouthpiece part you swivel off, except for the rubber o-ring that goes around the two halfs of the mouthpiece. I leave the swivel mouthpiece attached and separate the two other halves, remove the o-ring and place everything else into a sandwich baggie. I pour in a glug of 99% ISO, seal the bag and swish everything around for a few minutes. I then pour out the now-dirty ISO, rinse thoroughly and dry fully. Voila! One CF/X mouthpiece ready for another 15 or so sessions before another cleaning.

MP borrowed from tobacco pipe. Benefits are cooling and better ergonomic for home use. I also prefer draw restriction it adds.

Can anyone give me a comparison on the regular pack vs Elb?

I used to use the regular bowl before getting the ELBs. I started at 365 with medium-ground material (not finely ground). The first few puffs are getting the material up to temp with little visible vapor, and after that, lots of vapor. Not huge clouds per-se, but plenty fine.

The ELBS or tanks work well here. I just tap the top but do not pack. This seems to accommodate convection better than packing the herb. Same with my Underdog which is convection also. My conduction Flowermates like the herb packed down.

I do not know about the Hybrid, but the CF and CFX seem to have the same draw resistance. The temps are kind of different. 385f on the CF is a little low. 400f is maybe 390f. Just a guess. The AVB is what I'm basing this on. I like both these vapes. Basically they are just alike, just the temps are slightly off. The ELBs are great, just shift the temps up a little. When you want 390f with ELBs you set it for 400f.
I like to put screens in the mouthpiece and the WPA to collect reclaim. When they get gooey, just fold the screen and vape it. Doc

It seems to be off for me too, comparing to Air, Mighty and even Grenco Elite.

If you expect an electronic vape to be the same as the next of the same model you are wishful thinking. Hell, you are lucky to get two chips that act alike.
Accuracy is something that can not be achieved with the space we allotted for these vapes. Not even talking about cost of materials to build in everything we want the vape to do.
You would have to spend big money for temp controllers that accurate.
I have bought Honeywell PID controllers the size of a stick of butter, (smallest I could get for the job), that ran a thousand dollars.
I wasn't complaining about how accurate they are, just pointing out the difference between the two units I have. Doc

You can use needle nose pliers to gently roll up the bottom rim. Slowly work your way around, bending to the inside until it fits. Works well

@hillbill was talking about the bottom basket. Some people gently deform the bottom of the bottom basket so that it will be slightly shorter.

I, on the other hand, firmly push the mouthpiece down on the basket and twist it back and forth until it will finally turn. Works every time.
