Do not use camphor for a wood bowl. I used it with some vapes in the past but there were some vapes I couldn’t even use it with because when it warmed the wood it would impart flavor from proximity because of how pungent it was. Tambootie is another that has pungent flavor like elderly women perfume.
The safest bet is if they frequently make tobacco pipes from it.
Briar burl is the best wood when it comes to being neutral and handling heat as a bowl.
Thankyou. Very sound advice.
People like yourself make the site what it is ! And save people like me from very sore throats and lungs.
Doesnt help stop me branding myself tho......Seems i have to do it at least once with any new device. I wear my blisters with pride. Thankfully, i have
relatively few vapourisers.
Wide open draw. Super terpy light roast - shit went straight to my upper sinises and left me with a runny nose and eyes!
Seems spot on! I've also found that free flowing airflow through the injector head with little restriction is significantly harsher, 3mm vs 4mm vs 6mm balls in 3 different injector heads, plus 2 with NO balls (larger single, multiple and NO heat storage objects). NO BALLS, (sacrilege!). and harshest.
Good info. Cheers.
For me the biggest benefit is the efficiency,
I presume its the insulation the wood gives, reducing heatloss, that makes it more efficient?
They are some beautiful bowls, nice picture.
In secundis, herb distance.
Also makes a real difference.
I have been using my ceroma for 2 things since it retired to breakage backup for the Qaroma. A paper weight.
And a Screen Putter.
Past few months have been setting my screens in the 18mm joint. Turns any 18mm bowl/adaptor into a super efficient Microdosing monster. Or a bigger dose with a lower screen. Also reduces PID temperature. A little. Seems very efficient with herb.
Tastes better , to me.
I stuck a 2mm cork disk to the end of the ceroma joint. Was going to make a wooden one but my hands are awkward at the moment and im lazy. And many of us have a spare injector head to hand.
You can just use another 18mm male joint. Bit more fiddly. If I want a bit more conduction in the mix I just use my Qaroma to set the screen.
The screen size is dependant on how far down the joint you want the screen. ceroma + 2mm sets the screen just over half way down the ground joint .
Unground joints cause slippage of the screen too easily unless you score a line round the inside. this weakens the adaptor.
If you have to stir the bowl and are not gentle enough it can tip the screen, when i first started doing this, I used adaptors with glass screens built in or a second mesh screen where it normaly goes, but found it isnt needed
with ground joints. micro-doses dont need stirring.
My micro-doses run around 0.05g. Although i generaly do 2 or 3 back to back. Love the taste. And the effiency.
Also like bigger doses on occasion.....every and any occasion. Happy Wednesday! (or is it thursday?)
It actualy seems to taste better without a glass or mesh screen beneath the top screen holding the herb.
