Hmm, I have some CBD and even some Jack Frost lying around... Might give it a try.
Exactly. When I step outside and freeze a fair bit, I know it's just about right and I will be fine in a few minutes. Also prevents from too much sweating, which can lead to chafing, blisters, colds etc.
Not at all. The thing is: when you have hearing issues, it usually affects certain frequencies more than others and often the gaps are bigger than what an equalizer could handle. I can hear low frequencies fairly well so they don't have to be amplified that much, but mid and high frequencies have to be super loud for me. Even with heavy equalizing I couldn't follow a podcast.
I dress for my runs based on where I expect my body to be about 10 minutes in and not what the start will be like. When I run with my kids and/or wife they dress for the start of the run not the majority of the run and I tell them "I'm going to wish I were you for the first 5 minutes but your going to wish you were me for the rest of the run".

Speaking of music....could you use Bluetooth ear buds for music until you get a new hearing aid? There are some really good, cheap water resistant/water proof buds on Amazon. I know nothing about hearing aid technology or the need for them so I apologize if I am butting in.
