Hmm, I have some CBD and even some Jack Frost lying around... Might give it a try.

I dress for my runs based on where I expect my body to be about 10 minutes in and not what the start will be like. When I run with my kids and/or wife they dress for the start of the run not the majority of the run and I tell them "I'm going to wish I were you for the first 5 minutes but your going to wish you were me for the rest of the run".

Exactly. When I step outside and freeze a fair bit, I know it's just about right and I will be fine in a few minutes. Also prevents from too much sweating, which can lead to chafing, blisters, colds etc.

Speaking of music....could you use Bluetooth ear buds for music until you get a new hearing aid? There are some really good, cheap water resistant/water proof buds on Amazon. I know nothing about hearing aid technology or the need for them so I apologize if I am butting in.

Not at all. The thing is: when you have hearing issues, it usually affects certain frequencies more than others and often the gaps are bigger than what an equalizer could handle. I can hear low frequencies fairly well so they don't have to be amplified that much, but mid and high frequencies have to be super loud for me. Even with heavy equalizing I couldn't follow a podcast.

Today was the first nice day since the last mountain bike ride I took about a week ago . Enjoy those nice days everyone. I rode over 26 km (16 miles) by GPS on a mix of trails and technical singletrack. 105 minutes overall including 7 minutes rest. I'm tired but the runners high is kicking in more as I relax after finishing... a great feeling. I only vape on weekends (recreationally), so I vaped near 3 hrs before riding (Vortex, a potent strong sativa, pics in the what's currently in your vape thread). Thankfully, not closer to the ride. My overall effort level on the ride was a little uncomfortably high, but I like that push push push, rhythm, rhythm, rhythm, pace, pace, pace thing. Beautiful day out there and lots of people out on the trails. The bike spring service is now done (the new chainrings came in and are on it) and it runs like a dream :luv:. I've just set up some nice fresh ground Red Congolese ready for the vape (low temp) and an energy drink. Time to kick back, relax and take the ride in, as well as the rest of the day 👍.

Thx for sharing all the stories and talk. Keep it up. Cheers to the weekend all!

Ingested a big handful of very finely ground ABV at 12:30 and went for a 3 hour bike ride
of 30 miles. Forgot about the high until I got home and was so clumsy getting out of my
bike clothes. I was so stoned that I did not have to vape for the rest of the day.
Only about 20 percent of the ride was in traffic, and I was super careful not to
challenge drivers and wait! for the lights. No pain, no ego, great easy beautiful ride
that primes me to do more. ( I'm usually super competitive, jumping on the wheel of
whoever has the audacity to pass me, but I have mellowed in my old age and CBD assist.

Nice!

It's been a struggle here since I last posted, I got my Covid vaccine a little while back and ended up feeling like crap... for like 9 days. It got to the point I even stopped my treadmill routine for a few days. Well, yesterday had been 11 days since my last mountain bike ride too, and it was really nice out... the warmest day of the year so far (and by 3-4 degrees Celsius). I forced myself take advantage of that and made it out on the mountain bike. 15 miles and 100 minutes later I got home tired, but felt great. Vaped some cannabis ~1/2 hr later (strong sativa), first session after a weekly break, and it was excellent in combination with the runners high. Really excellent .

It was further good news when I found myself recovering well and quickly from that ride yesterday. Today is the last nice day in the weather forecast for the next five days, so I decided to get outside again on the mountain bike and trails. I wanted to see how well I recovered so I went out open minded and conservative, and tried some other trails and areas. It was great, I ended up doing more and going further, riding over 22 miles (in 2.5 hours). And I felt better doing it . Did that on a bowl of cereal for breakfast and one granola energy bar (after yesterdays ride). Again, I vaped... like the day before, about a half hour after getting home. Another strong sativa :science: .

After that earlier long setback, I'm stoked again with the progress I'm seeing with cardio conditioning (after not much cardio exercise over the cold winter here). Afaict, I'm in better spring exercise shape than in years. And I'm looking forward to the nice dividends that will bring as we roll into spring, summer and fall here . Getting out exercising has been rewarding and self-reinforcing so far this spring, and again, as expected ime... it really helped me to get out these last two rides :luv:. And so far it appear I'm very happily & well on the mend, finally.

Everyone keep posting your own experiences here and thx for sharing; it's real-time inspiring.

Have a great weekend.

:peace: :leaf:

We've had a couple a rainy days. There were even a few snow flakes this am here.

There's a piece of White Mtn. National Forest in our town; we have our water supply nestled at the foot of near 4000footers there and did before the forest was established. There's a beautiful 14 mile gravel/dirt good circuit road through the woods, climbing to the upper reaches of the watershed. Its gated in the winter and hasn't opened yet. Took my newish and quickly beloved emtn bike there and went on a lovely ride for two and half hours. Took a couple of puffs. Uphill pedaling for an hour plus. I took the side woods road down to the dam and took a break in the sun above the spillway, next to the roar--that rain the last few days is good for something. Had a couple o' tokes and had to put the bike in high Boost mode to pedal up the steep incline leading down to the damside. Then another half hour up and down along the mountainside-hugging back couple of miles. Then turned around and rolled mostly downhill. After the very first half mile or so, where there were a few walkers, I saw more spruce grouse than people. And no black flies...yet. As good as it gets.

Now sittin' at home with a beer, a lovely organic blond IPA from Peak in Portland, ME.. and tokin' some lovely live budder from Seaweed in South Portland, my second Maine adult purchase location. Trying to support the distant local economy. Only reason I buy dope...to help these small businesses and give to taxes. Right? Happy old timer here.

When I returned to the bubble I fell off the bike I was on? The road was travel on before on a skateboard during a crazy dazed & confused era. (First set of urethane wheel’s after wheel’s of steel. Stoned on a joint’s of paper.
Fast forward 2 cycling fall down? If DYNACAP was part of the equation falling from the bike would not have happened!

CANNABIS does a workout well!

I was careful getting on the ebike. I was in a bike accident when I was a kid, big chip out my front tooth and never had it repaired. In the 70's I was living under a tarp near West Yellowstone. Rode my bike from town to my campsite. Was riding around after work one day on the dirt roads and came down a hill at full speed into a barbed wire gate and went head over it. Didn't get high once before or during first rides last fall with the new toy. Scared the dickens out of me with all the power. First few rides this spring were nada. But now the weed is become part of the way to wonderful still careful rides.

Love FC. Funny how I see this thread just 2 weeks after getting my first e MTB and discovering the joy in a long solitary ride into the middle of nowhere and having a quiet vape with nature. I don't listen to music because it is all about the quiet and the stillness and the sounds of the bush. I sit quietly with my Firewood 7 with a full pack of bubble hash, or maybe the Tiny might and some primo flower.
I don't intentionally meditate but to sit in silence and feel the breeze and watch the animals come out as they forget you are there, brings on a state of being at ease and oneness. I could sit for hours, but the road calls.
In the southern hemisphere we are coming into the cooler months, which is the better weather for outdoor activities in my area, too hot in summer. Really looking forward to finding more special spots a long way from anyone.

Same.....Got the second Pfizer shot and I got a slightly sore arm for two days that wouldn't have slowed me down but it was accompanied by a drop in energy level/malaise which caused a drop in motivation for a week. My entire family got their second shots around the same time and we all experienced that drop in energy level. The exception being my wife who did get a migraine on the first day of the second shot.

The weird thing was that without talking about it we all jumped back into exercise within a day of each other because our energy level was back. Quite the coincidence that 3 separate households all got motivated within a day of each other. Thankfully the mental side was unaffected.

My second dose was easier than my first but each dose was no big deal. Kinda like a low level flu the first time that lasted less than a day. My wife got a migraine on the second dose so her first dose had less symptoms.

According to what I read most people can expect the second dose to have more symptoms as the body is prepared more for the fight due to the first dose. Everyone in my family, except the wife had an easier time on the first shot. Some of us got Pfizer and some of us got Moderna...none of us had J & J.

The pharmacist who gave us our shots suggested taking ibuprofen ASAP AFTER the shot along with sporadically moving the shot arm around.

Good luck!

I'm totally pro vax... get the free influenza vax every year here (in Canada). Just a strong reaction to this COVID vax shot this time. I hope the next shot goes better, supposedly it does.

Not daily riding weather here yet, but it's getting better. Today I did ~20 miles on the MTB in a nice day... a good way to blow 2.5 hrs. It was down right hot out at times 👍. I also took the #1 hardest cardio / #2 technical trail in the area (for the second time this year, first time was Wed... on half the ride length of today). It went better than I was expecting (it was the opposite way... keeping it fresh). Going well enough, later in the ride I tackled the #1 technical / #2 cardio trail in the area as well. It was very enjoyable and rewarding to get out exercising . TGIF. A half hour after that I was low temp vaping Super Lemon Haze as my first sesh after a cannabis break through the week (a strong sativa). Highly recommended combo.

So far this year, ~145 miles on the MTB (~230km). Good times... share YOUR athletic endeavors .

Have a great Friday night and weekend.

I'm slowly coming out of covid numbness. Didn't do much of anything physical through covid - a little prep for a ski trip (so I wouldn't kill myself) then a few days on the slopes but that was it. So far this year it's been a long cool Spring in NE PA. Good excuse for staying lazy but today picked up my very nicely tuned mtb, new tires (tubless) and all, and am really looking forward to being back in the saddle. It'll hurt a little but ride número uno 2021 tomorrow. In three weeks I hope perhaps to be achieving some level of fitness. More than the fitness though it's the magic of the ride for me. And for me the magic of the ride is always enhanced by the magic of the vapor 👍

Since I last rode, I picked up my license so I have some pre-ride choices this season. I'm thinking I'll be leading off tomorrow with Light of Jah.

Another 24 miles in nice weather on the MTB this weekend 👍 (since the Friday post). Rode that hard core MTB cardio trail again and it went pretty well. Was vaping sativas after and through the weekend too... top notch.

Spring is a busy time of year around here. It's all worth it though. There's a home vegetable garden going in, yard work, etc.

Bring on spring and summer! Hope you're all getting out.

Cool nights, crystal clear warm sunny days- winter in Queensland. Best weather of the year and everything is lush from recent rains. Only a mug would be indoors.

I have upgraded to a 1000watt e-mtb for those days when you want to go deep but your body says, "You want me to go up where?". We call it the beast and my 17yr old son seems to have taken possession. He rides it like a motor bike, all throttle no pedal. Lazy youth.
Maybe it doesn't qualify for this thread quite as much but it sure is fun and it has me thinking about places I wouldn't even dream about on a push bike. Lots of state forest trails are within range now. Might take her and the FW7 out for a little high flying now. 👍
