Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

HELP ME!!!
Ordering a pair of water tools, one straight 14mm one to use in place of the stock mouthpiece and with my bubbler when I feel like it, and one for my vast majority 18mm tube collection.

For the 18mm one I'm unsure whether I should get the straight tool or the U tool, is there a consensus as to which is better?

I prefer to keep my Ascent in the upright position, grill/bowl on bottom as to prevent vapor from naturally escaping while upside down, so use the U-tool with my bubbler and the straight tool with my WT.

I never tried a WT with my Ascent. So turning the Ascent upside down using a bubbler wouldn't work very well because of vapor escaping? I've seen pics of folks using the unit upside down.

I've used it with a bong upside down a couple times but haven't been lately because off all of the vapor that was escaping the bottom. Hoping there's some way around it. But it's not a huge deal as I find the vapor to be smooth enough on its own.

Solod out.
Anyone know how accurate the temperature indicator is?
Does the ascent work well with oils and hash?

Try putting a little hash in the bowl wrapped in organic cotton 400+ temp. Clean out the bowl after.

Not sure how accurate individually the Ascent is. OF had a temp indicator at one point that he was testing the unit he had, and said it cooled down quickly after a draw. The unit needed 30 seconds or so to recover, but was accurate, as it could be. That's why he suggested the glass pipe screens (glass flowers) they helped with heat process and filled up the large bowl.

I don't seem too every get a ton of vapor. I am honestly pretty happy with my Ascent. It is my girlfriend and sister and brother-in law who constantly choose traditional smoking over my Ascent. I can not help but get upset when they bash it, or talk shit about it. I personally like it though, especially since I started using the oil canister as a spacer, I can use less bud. Although I do receive a great state of mind :), I wish others would feel the same way about my babay. :(

Also, Does anyone have a problem with changing temp of the Ascent and it only going to 398 F ? Or something it will randomly stop at 397, or 404. I have to usually shut it off, open the chamber, and try again, Sometime having to repeat this process a few times.

....no...never had any problem changing temps....hey my glass beads came from amazon yesterday...boy, they sure are small, guess I'll try that technique out later with them replacing the topless jar.

Yup, guilty. Pretty hard to fault the accuracy of the one Nigel loaned me:

This is the actual load temperature, but look what happens with a hit:

When it comes to making vapor, this will be a problem........

Oh no, that does look like a problem, does it drop that low if you take a MFLB draw off it? By that I mean real gentle like, or was that a strong pull? Also, how long did it take to get back to temp after the hit?

Edit: Just noticed it looked like the battery was almost dead in display, does it do that when it's fully charged or plugged in?

Thanks, I didn't know if you were guessing or not because you said 30 or so. Do you or anyone else know if he tried a slow draw or taking small sips, or a full battery? I tried doing a search of his posts and there is 200 of them just in this thread, so I figured asking would be quicker.

Slow draw all the way with the Ascent. I don't know about the full battery.

I'm not sure you know what I meant, I meant does a slow draw or small sips effect the temperature meter as much as the pictures show. I assume that massive temperature drop on the meter was from a steady medium, maybe a strong hit, or maybe it was because of the low battery, I don't know.

The harder you hit it, the more it drops as you might guess. I was able to pull it down to 300F, a 100 degree drop. There's a lesson there......

No, battery condition makes no difference as long as it stays in regulation (which it does). I ran the test many times, including while charging IIRC(?).

If you put the glass flowers in with the bud and TC head the drop is considerably less.....which is the whole idea......

Hammer it and you get lots of volume but rapidly diminishing concentrations. Sip and it and you gain true enlightenment. I know I'm about to get 'well I can get huge clouds that way' posts, but that's my experience and observation. Like so many other vapes, use them the way they want rather than the way you do and the results are better?

This is why I always run my Ascent at Max ... I start hitting it at ~350 as the temperature is still rising ... so that way the temperature is constantly rising as I am regulating my breathing speed to control temperature and vapor production ... I find this works well and I get nicely browned ABV without it ever being too harsh or hot and always producing a good supply of vapor. (takes me about 3-5 minutes to vape a bowl not including heat up time and I generally pack it pretty much full with a loose pack and a relatively fluffy grind ... this is what works best for me ... FYI I use a Santa Cruz Shredder for a grinder ...)

In the end, I think that's what really matters.

There are some guidelines I guess, but 'the best technique' is very subjective......the best path is for each Pilgrim to explore with an open mind.....

Totally agreed OF ... your education on the temperatures and the effect of the speed of your inhale was very helpful in understanding why what I'm doing works (basically keeping the heater in overdrive to keep the temp up and making sure not to pause too long so the temperature never gets too high)

....there are other variables at play..the environment that you hit your device in...room, outdoors , temp..etc...it all impacts the equation. ..

I've been enjoying my new gong using it as a mouthpiece it gives the Ascent a whole new sturdy feel to it. I had the Ascent out and about today.

I have been happy with the battery, I kept track of the battery time and it was 1 hour 18 min. I didn't want to go until it was all the way dead. I've heard not so good on the battery to do that. Its so light and easy to use.

Osn Dosn, Have you tried contacting the VaporStore? They are an FC sponsor. I live in the states and don't know much about who ships where. I looked on their website they ship Internationally. They will be getting the Ascent soon, it said on their site.

Also they said if you are looking for something such as a vaporizer or assessories and you don't see it, to contact them maybe they can get it. I don't know if this will help.
