I've gotta be honest here guys. Really hard to pick out my first legit portable. The Solo feels amazingly solid. But I saw that there is gonna be the FW4. "What say you guys?"

Is that the Firewood 4? Not sure the abbreviation you used.
There's a lot of great vaporizers. We are partial to the Solo in this thread.

Having a variety is nice.

Convection vs Conduction I guess. Which vape tastes better? I mean between the firewood and the Solo.

Take that to another thread my friend. Direct comparisons are looked down on in the specific thread for 1 vaporizer. Ask fc is a good place to post a comparison question.

Cool to see 1500 pages on this thread!! I've enjoyed a few dry bowls with my solo since getting it over a week ago. It really is a reliable good vaporizer. Can't wait for my planet vape gong to get here so I can really try it out. My asthma makes dry vaping very annoying with any vaporizer.

Convection will always taste better than conduction. Firewood will probably taste better than Solo, however Solo is pretty good for keeping the taste going longer than a lot of other conduction/conduction-using vaporizers I've used, in my opinion. I also haven't used a Firewood, so... I haven't even though about getting rid of my Solo though...

I am not one that likes to buy the so called latest and greatest new vape and would not wait in line to buy one. If it is not available to buy right now forget about it. Then there is all the teething problems with a new vape and the premium price? Old and reliable wins, same as myself.

I agree with you @lookhigh. Being the first on the block to own a new vapirizer isn't all that great because there is usually bumps along the way. Frustrations usually start to peak - usually but not always.

I want a vaporizer I can buy and get it right away within a week or so. I'm not interested in investing in a company before they get their ducks in a row. Look at the GH shipping thread to get my drift.

Love the Solo and it's reliability. Just because I buy another vaporizer doesn't mean I love it less. It's fun to have several vaporizers.

I had some simple outdoor grown by the SEA no seeds or stems.(no way)

PLATIUM OG = level 4 + ASH COLLECTOR + SHERLOCK = MASSIVE (14mm) set-up

I put a new battery pack in my old SOLO.
Three day's went by so charge and it was at 6?

Hey guys!

For everyone who chooses to use the black tipped Air stem as a GONG because it is so much less expensive than a dedicated Gong:

Puffitup just sent me an email with a code to get a water adapter (real GONG) for $10.

Don't think the mods would like me to post the code here, but PM me or email PIU for code.

BTW, anyone with any experience using the newest Solo stems? This bent stem fits so tightly in my Solo (with oring) that you could pick it up by the stem and shake and it does not come loose?

I bought 6 of them at once last month, bent stems. it fits very very tight in my silver solo with the oring and are pretty loose on my black solo with no oring (stem can spin around) but older stems definitely fell out easier.

PS I'm also in love with the high cpacity battery with this vape. Did 5 sessions the other day, plugged it in qucickly to see the battery level, was at 6! crazy! 5 full session until auto off.

I advise a bit of caution here, as I've said before. The quality of the PIU GonG is not up to PVHES or Arizer Air stem standards IMO. The bowl area is thicker and less uniform (one of mine is quite out of round). The do work, of course, but I don't use mine. Nor recommend them, really?

For the same ten bucks I think the Air stem is a better route.

Stems vary a bit (as do most similar glass parts) and fit can be critical. Heating the seals first (run it to temperature before inserting the stem) can help them get 'broken in' and make them easier to live with until then. The ring should not be used in such tight cases, it's intent is to keep the stems from rotating in a loose seal?

It's worth reminding each other from time to time that Arizer considers loose stems normal, it's what they intended and they (for instance) won't replace your Solo for that reason?

The new Arizer stems seem to me to be the current model. They were represented as Arizer stems and I have no reason to doubt that assertion.

The 4 holes are exact match to AA stem. Whether Arizer considers looseness normal or not these Arizer stems are tighter than my Black tipped stems which have the same 4 holes the Solo has.

Managed to break/ lose my Gong and high eff bent stem within two days. Another 35€ down the drain. better get a new mighty quick

Bummer. Then again, one a day is right up there with Ataxian......if you can maintain that level long enough.

All in all an impressive performance for an 'Old World' owner.

Better luck with the next batch. I'm not sure if losing is better/worse than breaking it. If you lose it it might get found, but once broken..... Then again, sometimes it's best to accept the grief and move on.
