Yes and no.

There's a circuit that prevents immediate destruction from overcharging, but the voltage used (4.2) is optimum for maximum capacity per charge (rather than longest battery life). Makes sense if you're trying to sell 'em (numbers sell) and also if you sell replacements?

I think we should be a little careful here, lest we give the potential buyers the idea some sort of magic is going on? Yes, Solo can make some impressive vapor but needs the right conditions to do so. Good bud is a key part as well?

And 'huge clouds' is pretty subjective, IMO. What's huge to one guy can easily leave the next asking 'is that it?'. It is a portable, and IMO does very well against other portable vapes, but it will always fail volume wise to good mains driven units using way more power and of course is not even an 'also ran' when vapes like Cera EO are in the mix.

I think it's safe to say Solo is at (or very near) the top of it's class. Easy to use. With good bud and technique is able to meet the needs of nearly all folks. Buying one does not guarantee you endless 'huge clouds' any more than buying a guitar makes you a musician.

Sunday morning in Fraggle rock and I've got my Solo and my nano on the bed in front of me BOTH blowing big white clouds. Albeit with vastly different load sizes. Today's wake n vape is summat different from cheese thank god. Today I'll mainly be in a super silver haze. Good vapeable strain this. Nice and resinous with citrus on the way into the lungs and a minty hint on the exhale. People need to be realistic with their load size on the Solo. Expecting plumes from point zero five is unrealistic me thinks. Fill the stem to brim loosely and tamp down very lightly. Stop weighing and use the thing dag nam it. Woah I must be high cause Frasier is on and I'm laughing at it. Haha bye bye before I speak mair pish!!!

Whhaaaa? My Solo billows clouds on every single temperature including 2, and even through water. If I heat soak on 7 through water, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the cloud and a real smoke cloud it's THAT thick. Plenty of videos here showing just how monstrous clouds from the Solo can be. I love my Solo.

++++++ 1 Yes sir indeed. I am the glutton for thick massive rips.When your pulling for 20-30 seconds on 7 thru h20 you get massive thick milked cans of dense vapor,but also thick clouds at all temps from 3 on up Most of the time I start at 7 when WT is deployed, if using dry (very rarely, @ 4-5)
I take the vape poo poo and I am able to make some great couch locking oil for edibles.The ABV looks like very brown coffee grinds, chuck it in the MB2 for 8hrs on 160 temp and brothers/sisters you get great end results.
Solo might not be the best unit for some but IMO its all I need, great on the fly w/PNWT or the kitchen counter plugged in w/PA and hooked to a sweet bubb. As far as loaded stems....nothing less than .18 and most of the time .20 & sand like texture grind (fine works for me the best) and your gonna get very seriously medicated
and of course ....YMMV !!

I've had the solo for about a week now, and it's definitely my most used vape right now. I only find myself using other vapes when the solo is charging. It's just the easiest of all my vapes to use. The only issue I have is that I don't have a grinder, as I was using scissors with the thermovape evolution. I can still do that with the solo, but since the herb chamber is shallower, it's more prone to spilling (plus there is a screen I have to worry about damaging with the scissors). I guess I'll have to start pre grinding bud, or get a good 2 piece grinder.

I find that I take a little moisture out of the nugs by air drying in an envelope on the dash of truck in the FL heat (great air freshner BTW just dont forget it there and go out and drive. The truck reeks of such sweetness. I then just turn them into a very fine texture and boy does the solo put out the MILK then. I sometimes take a full bud and being its a bit dank,1 or 2 rips drys it out good enough, I pull it out and crush it with my fingers,it gets finely ground up and hamster it back up the stem,plug it back in the oven and hit it and it bellows out vapor. Anytime I used dank bud, it didnt put out as much vapor as that of which was dryer, YMMV....

@Farid For my solo i just kind of roll a bud or pieces of bud into a ball and press it into the stem. If I'm not in a big hurry or needing giant clouds during the whole session the bowl will last through 2 timeout(turn off) sessions, I don't even find the need to stir and my avb is coming out nice and uniformly baked. Works for me.


Edit; only using my solo dry with the stock glass or ed's wood stem.

If I'm doing straight nugs, I never crumble them mid session... they always seem vaped evenly throughout if I crush them to check afterwards... (@RUDE BOY beat me to it ).

Total noob question. Are the 4 wee holes in the stem cut at any special angle? Or is the cyclone effect my weed goes through when I inhale a happy and also very distracting mistake? I only noticed this by accident when I was cleaning my stems. Cheers

Received my base for the Solo from Pipes, it looks just like the pic of ataxian (pic above a couple of posts). This will help the chipping problem with the bottom of the Solo. Maybe Arizer has solved the problem by now. Pipes also includes a stand for WT and stems etc. An extra stem holder, not included, I forgot.
What I like are the little nuts that you put on the screws along with some felt and the instructions. There is an o-ring along with a couple screens. This will definetly help to preserve the bottom. I hate to send a unit back unless I absolutely have to.

The base really compliments the look of the Solo. A bit of a chip from the hazards of shipping on the base, it works fine though. Thanks Pipes for helping me out.

No special alignment. They are hot pierced and flame polished looks like, every hole will be unique.

No I don't. I already have one. And the green cyclone seems to give a really even vape. Is there not a cyclone bowl for one of arizers desk tops? Anyhoo yeah I have a standard pipe screen cut to size and I still get the cyclone effect. One shouldn't assume things.

Although my Solo has never been dropped or abused in any way, nor have I ever tried to squeeze in O-rings below the cap, I had the unfortunate experience of finding the baseplate on both of my Solos having cracks around the four screws. My guess is that the technician got a little over-zealous when they were assembled and over-tightened the screws.

A couple of folks had sent me PMs asking about what screws I used to replace the OEM ones on the bottom of my Solo. So I thought I would post here so all can benefit.

Here are a couple of pics taken through my my 10x jeweler's loupe showing the cracks around the screws:

So I went to my local Ace Hardware store and bought the following:

- Panhead Machine Screw, 2mm x 8mm, p/n 4306, 25 cents each.
- Flat Washer, 2mm, p/n 4298, 17 cents each.

The new screws and washers help alleviate some of the stress that was induced by the original screws. The new screws went in nice and snug with little effort.

Hopes this helps out.

Caulin, Here is one of the post regarding chipping. Check out some of Pipes postings May/June. He makes a kit to help to prevent cracking. Some folks aren't even experiencing this problem. I unfortunately am. I still appreciate all the other qualities of the Solo. Just a fluke with a bad batch of plastic. Solo runs like a champ.

Ah, so! That's maybe a third the normal load? I'd expect 1/3 the normal vapor...... Getting 3 times the herb 'in play' will up the output I'm sure.

But I think you've broken the code on the last comment. If you're happy, you're happy and shouldn't let stuff you read on the web change your mind there..........



Normally Solo flashes the charge light until it's fully charged, then it goes solid. That will always work, but will not give best battery life.

The first time you charge (only) it's useful to 'overcharge', that is go at least 4 hours after the solid light to give the weaker of the two cells in the battery the best chance. After the first discharge you've missed this chance. The first charge only, otherwise there's nothing to gain. After that (and that includes if you didn't) pull it when the light goes solid, no more useful charging will happen after that.

If you want maximum battery life, wait until the top LED (step 7) is lit but the charge light is still flashing and unplug it. This costs you a session or so per charge but doubles, triples or even more the number of charge cycles before the weaker of the two cells packs in.

Yes it will remain flashing even after hitting 7. It still can take more if green light is flashing. In fact first few times I charged my unit it would reach 7 in no time but flash for a good couple of hours after that. Hope that helps?

one of my fave things about the solo is its efficiency.

i can get ripped off just a tiny pinch of herb. As opposed to a pipe and combusting where i waste half or more of the plant material to the lighter ect.

If you have WT that have 14mm , then get one of those too .
