The taste is gone! <<these are abv smoothies they are clanging together.
I can only assume the 5 burnoff cycles in a row on heat level 7 are to be thanked. I'd only ever taken it up to 7 once before(after the one initial out of box burn off)and had always stayed around 4, maybe 5 on the odd occasion. Now I did unscrew, tip and then shake as mvape suggested and close to ten sizable(to big to fit into the four gaps in the heater cup)fell out. Wierd!

My solo is really only being neglected because of the restricted draw, as I prefer the taste and load size of the solo, way more efficient IMO, but until those PVHES gong stems are in my hand, the solo remains more of a back up piece. I have brought it out to test and compare against my newer vapes. To be fair, I have also been preferring the pax/ion over my cloud as well, mainly due to much shorter heat up time, thick satisfying vapor, and no cord to deal with. Pax just gets down to it!! I will say however, I am hoping this may change as the new stems are released. I miss using the solo and still think it's a quality vape.

how long have you had the pax? I heard the novelty wears off once owners realize the maintenance (cleaning) it requires.

I just ordered a solo over the pax last week. Really was in love with it and happy about my choice until I've started noticing how little my batteries last....

I'm in the same situation but with opposite units. I ordered the Pax over the Solo and I'm pretty sure I should have gone with the Solo. The Pax is awesome but it does tend to use more herb. I used to have a SSV and I loved that I could pack what I wanted and no matter the amount, it worked perfect. The Pax NEEDS to be fully packed for work well and constantly loading that amount causes me to use more (maybe even more than I need).

I think if your #1 use will be for on-the-go and you have a med to high tolerance, the Pax is for you. But if it's mainly a home thing, I think the solo (with the PVHES) would be better.

Edit: As far as cleaning the Pax goes, I just give it a while down while its still warm after every pack which for me is at least 2-3 sessions worth. I have never had any problems.

I have not found the cleaning to be too much trouble on the pax either, but you do have to maintain it. The solo has that up on the pax for sure, you can let your stems get pretty gunky if you want, it will still play nice. Each portable has it's ups and downs depending on your needs/wants/expectations. I am happy to have both units. I do think the solo conserves much better, but pax can be tossed fully loaded in my pocket, and I won't have to fuss with stems and what not... so you see it can go on like this. The important thing is that it's working for you.

When I first got the Solo I would start on 4 and work my way up to 7. Now I use it on 3 for glass stems and 4 for Ed's stem and that's it. I'm gonna have to do some high temp vaping to remember what it's like!

I found out i like setting 3 the most. I get great clouds and tasty vapor at this setting.
Sometimes at the end of the session i turn up to 4, but i don't go higher than that..i find them too harsh.

I am dying to get a bong for this thing so i can crank it up to 7 even get some water conditioned hits.

the newer models seem to run their battery indicator to 1 quickly, meaning they still have enough juice left for another 3 to 4 cycles, it just goes down to one quickly...I think this was mentioned earlier on i this thread... you could say one equals 3 on the newer models hehe...

Why don't you test it and see how many sessions you get out of it ? And see if it takes as much cycles to go down from 7 to 6, or 1 to nothing.

This makes sense, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. The number of battery life cycles you get out of a lithium ion battery depends on your average depth of discharge (among other things). Changing their battery indicator in the way described would seem to encourage a lower average depth of discharge.

how long does it take you to do one stem? Does the auto shut off happen? Either its defective or your taking an hour on each stem. Also like they mentioned above the newer models run down quick but then seem to last on 1 for quite some time longer.

12 minutes auto shut off, seems normal.

This battery life sounds similar to mine. I think this is normal with the new software tweaks in the newer models. Arizer likely wants you to top up your battery sooner to make it last longer in the long run. Just a theory, but it would make sense.

I have an M107 , and my battery life is quite good for a portable .
2 to 2 1/2 hours straight usage depending on temp. settings .
I usually like to start at 5 and work up to 6 . Then like most others , finish off the last stems at 7 .

gobrian mentioned his was an M1A ?
I know it's just a serial # , but I haven't heard of that one yet .

Oh yeah , I've only owned it for 2 months though ,
Maybe with time , the battery will wane like that also .

completed 6th and 7th, battery still showed @ 0 during start up (since 4th stem) but still works and no charge light... yet..

7 is what I get out of mine when I've pushed it to the limits. The last 3 sessions being on "1" for the battery indicator. Seems like par for the course.
