Alright, hmm. Let's look at this a bit more logically. The only thing that's changed is that you have a vaporizer now, right? You were smoking before and you're vaping (or were) now? When you turn it on to 7 and let it complete a cycle (with the cap off) does it smell bad? Kinda like plastic? If it does, that's the factory stuff on it. Should burn off in a few cycles. Since you said you already did that, that's probably not it.Ok, this is messed up. I just turned on my solo and stuck my nose up to the open "oven." It smelled faintly of burning plastic and solder and abv herbs. Ok, that's lame but now I feel really sick. Nauseous and dizzy as hell. Ok, well, that answers my question. Now I'm really bummed because I just ordered Planetvape turbo tube and some other supplies for my new toxic solo.
Man, spending hundreds of dollars on something that has made me physically ill for the past week is totally fucked up! How can Arizer sell something like this!?
Took me about three full stems to get my tubes chalked on command I had stuff to do today!! Definitely room for improvement but having the stems be glass definitely helps see vapor forming. A little warm on the throat at 6 but I expected that.Welcome to the family! Have fun perfecting your technique!

Guilty... I'll just assume the position, I know you're gonna want toWait what did I miss.......................Q you are just getting a solo now? Well welcome to the best thread on fc sometimes
Ataxian sent me a picture of him and family.Pics or it didnt happen!
350 for 15 min with no discoloration on bodies for silver and black units. I also cleaned the body and cap with iso prior to baking
also cleaned the bowl and whole unit with ISO while the metal parts were baking. eliminated smells on a ceramic and a SS unit here.
oldest m104 ceramic unit has no signs of melting around the bowl. I use mine on 7 all the time.
Well, you are literally the only person I have heard of this happening to or its all coincidential and/or psychosomatic.
No no baking the oven aka the heat sink. Like leave it on at 7 until it turns itself off. That's what was being discussed. Do not put the Solo in your cooking oven.I just saw some similar posts back on page 160ish about bad smell and something about taking the cap off and baking in your oven to get rid of the smell. I'm not sure if the smell they're talking about is making people physically ill but maybe I can try to take my unit apart and see if there is anything specifically off gassing??

Are you vaping the same weed? I vaped weed one time that gave me a headache. Vaped it again thinking it was a one-off thing. Nope, felt shitty again. Tried a bit a third time just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, and I wasn't feeling that good. Not sure what was up, maybe it wasn't flushed properly? Anyways, hasn't happened since. Try different bud and see if it changes. Are you hydrated? Are you perhaps pulling too hard and overexerting yourself? I can totally see it happening with this vape, what with the restricted draw with stock stems..

Not at all discounting the possibility that something is wrong with your Solo, but given your description of things I find myself also considering that you may be exhibiting a sort of medical hyper-reactivity to something that most of us don't notice, so no reports of such until now. And I am not discounting the possibility of a psychological component that in part can trigger a node in the overall response. I would make peace with your current unit and bid it farewell as you look forward to getting your new replacement unit to start fresh. Put it aside, don't try it anymore. In other words, don't fixate, as that usually tends to compound the problem.I just got a solo and it's been making me really sick. I thought it was the herb but I can smoke it and it's fine and I put my nose in the solo "oven" on 7 and took a whiff and got really dizzy and nauseous. I'm glad I'm not sick from the herbs but is this baking thing you guys are talking about something you think will fix my issue?
I'm supposed to unscrew the aluminum cap and bake it in my oven? I did several dry runs and that didn't work. I don't think this is the cap but I'm willing to try anything. It just smells like melting plastic and solder.
I will try wiping the SS "oven" down with ISO but I'm really afraid to stick my nose in it and smell it again, let alone vape through it. I've been sick all week!
Pics or it didn't happen?
My 2 SOLO'S work amazing!Yes, I forgot to mention - I did 3 12 minute sessions on 7 with the cap open to let it burn off any factory funk.

Now what more perfect epitaph than a giant 'stoned' statue for our own Ataxian..
One seed at a time will plant the Earth.

Anything is possible, and a "toxic Solo" is more likely than honesty from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, but not by much. I think a better question to ask is 'how does this compare with your other vape experiences?'. Maybe 'did the smell make you sick before you first put pot in it?
If we ignore, for the moment, the chance that this one Solo is contaminated in a strange and unique way we come back to the conundrum that while blazing creates new 'stuff' by chemical changes, vaporizing by definition does not. That is it's delivering a much more pure version of what we're after (THC) and doesn't add anything. Blazing, OTOH, delivers a fraction of that very same THC mixed with a bunch of junk (including decomposed THC....).
Strange experience for sure.
OF
Now you did it OF. You were suppose to keep it hush hush. They sure do! The one I've got (your older one) is doing just great!
And 'the Q man' seems to be really enjoying the other one, about time he got a Solo don't you think? Nice of you not to lock the garage.....no make that 'medicating facility'. BTW, you're out of well purged hash as well and your vacuum rig is running kinda hot. You might want to look into it when you get back.
And long as you've got WiFi you might consider ordering another Solo or two, timing it for your return of course. Just a thought.
Enjoy the island.......
OF
I think OF might have hinted at something, maybe without knowing it, that makes some sense.
@ happythoughtsforrobots remember the stuff you quoted from vapopedia is from the original solo.
Just to make sure did you do burns with the rubber cap open?
I think OF might have hinted at something, maybe without knowing it, that makes some sense. If you were only using a flame controlled vaporgenie you might not have adjusted to vaping. It can be a mix of air like a rush and getting a lot of clean vapor instead of dirty combustion that is making you think you are basically getting poisoned.
It isn't a bad idea to exchange it, but if you have a friend that might have a solo I would be more inclined to try his/hers to see if it is any different.
Good luck and I hope this all gets worked out for you and welcome.
