We told you to exit maybe you will listen next time and save 7 bucks:lol:

I had to go out today :cuss:, but kid needed food and my vape died...oh how I wish I had a solo with a PA in the car. I was using the PN and should have had at least 4 sessions left unless I messed up and I had one and a little not nearly enough. I lost it. Tisn't like I can keep a spare in the car cause it gets to hot so have to carry whatever I bring:rant:

I've been in this situation a few times! That's why I can't wait for the car PA, will be invaluable on long road trips :D

I mean I could always use the VAPOLUTION 2.0 with its car adapter but it's kinda big and awkward to have in a car unless I have room to buckle it in :D:lol:

Even better than a SPARE SOLO would be a SOLO with REMOVABLE BATTERIES.... imagine being able to hotswap out two 18650's and have a fully charged SOLO again.... :science::love:

Hot swap would be sweet...maybe in the future...are you hearing me future lol.
I have a converted sitting on my counter forever and I never opened it. I am really bad at some things that are new and some I am fine with. I don't get it.

umm thats not a ps2 slim power adaptor?

No, that's one of the solutions I recommended:
https://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_206529_-1

Although I've never tried it (so can't recommend it), this one should work as well:
https://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_1940580_-1

You need a power cord, which you may well already have being a common type, and have the same adapter issue to connect to the Solo as before, although it seems without polarity issues? This part will do it:
https://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/s...&catalogId=10001&pa=2113703&productId=2113703

Be careful what you ask for, Lady, very careful.......

Wow!! Seems to be a lot of choices on how to power or charge your Solo. I'm low income so I tend to use garage sale and thrift shop finds as much as possible. I would have to say though, that the combo charger that Pipes has developed would probably be the best buy for a new user. I'm content using my
PA adaptor and auxillery battery pak now, however. See post #17227. Has anyone else ever tried this?

As convenient as my bullet changes are on my PN the vape is just not reliable and I am sure it will break within the year. Very sad really. I am going to just figure out how to take the bigger solo with me everywhere. I guess my stem tubes will have to end up being used outside. You cannot beat the solo's reliability. I have a power thingy for the car bought a while back if some of you remember and it is still on my counter. I am not sure how long that will last in the car either with the heat getting so high in the car. If I could I would leave a back up vape in the car but it would last a month if I am lucky cause of the heat. I have to carry stuff with me out of the car whether I want to or not which is a huge pain in the ass.

OF...wish and it shall come or did I get that statement wrong too

I agree, more choices in the market is always a good thing for customers. In that respect, I'm 'pro choice' for sure.

I suspect as time goes on it's going to get better and better as the market 'demands' it. Which system (or parts for that matter) work best for each guy usually based on a lot of factors so 'best' becomes a bit hard to tie down.

As to the battery pack idea, yeah, I'm guilty. I've posted about it before on several threads. It's gone through several iterations since first made for Purple Days, then MFLB PA, now Solo PA as well. It used to look like this:

The cord's a little shorter now, but it still fits nicely in the little camera case under it. It's a touch under 3X5X1 inch and fits nicely in (larger) pocket. It doesn't go into the garden with the Solo and me as with MFLB these days (since Solo has a good internal battery), but it does just fine.

Naw, not a bit of it. Have you checked your PM's lately?

Did you have to reset the temperature after reaching the set temperature and the heater shutting down or did it operate normally with the heater coming on by itself?

Dr. Soxhlet,
Maybe not however I was responding to your slandering "OF"?

dr electric:

"OF" is a person I have deep respect for and bought this power adapter based on his recommendation.
There are many things in my collection that were purchased based on his recommendations.

I trust him.

I found your first post dissing someone that I respect to be very offensive to me.

I hope you are not as mean spirited as you seem and perhaps it's only a misunderstanding.

Kind regards,
ataxian

not believing or questioning someone after they say something that is contradicted by another person is in no way slandering

i'm terribly sorry that i do not believe everything i read on the internet especially something posted by a random person i know nothing about

Indeed? You're welcome to any civil opinion of course but I'm curious.....why is it you think I'm lying to you? How would that benefit me to try to help you out otherwise? Why would I bother?

And wasn't it you that said your extensive research had uncovered 3 cases, two of which were failures? Your data......or do you question your own honesty as well?

I'm cautioning you that others have reported problems, at least one of them serious. And advising due caution. Take or leave the advice as you wish, but on what basis do you question my honesty or intent?

TIA

"Still a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest" Paul Simon.

OF

i don't think your lying you are simply basing your ideas off the most popular response to this which is failure

but i see this a little differently if some people have success while others have failure some one either has to be doing something wrong or these chargers are incredibly inconsistent and thats what i would like to find out because if this does work it would become the cheapest PA that can be made

mod note: @dr electric, please avoid back-to-back posts, use Edit instead. Two posts merged.

He is perhaps the most know member on this site!
Your first post was questioning him!
Maybe I use too strong of words?

I agree with you not trusting the internet.
"OF" gave me honest information when I was looking for answers.

For me he is not random.

Maybe for you he is?

Nope, that would be a problem......

My guess is somehow your battery pack is momentarily getting out of the 7.0 to 9.0 Volt range. This can screw up PA mode. My guess is it's 'bouncing high' when the heater shuts down? In PA mode I've got a regulator there preventing this.

he may be the most experienced person on here you're right but no matter what i still choose a primary source of information (someone who has actually done it successfully) over someone who has secondary information (has read about other people that have had failure for no known reason)

and yes he is random to me shheesh i say i don't believe someone and i become public enemy number 1 over here
