as my 1st post on fc i would just like to thank everyone in this thread as i am now smoke free and love my solo had it a few mouths but only just started to use it more and more went smoke free 2 days ago (smoked spliffs with baccy mixed in for bout 5 years) and it all coz of you ppl on hear teaching me how to use the solo the right way

This what FC is all about, at least IMO.

I am happy for you!

It's nice, the build quality is not that great, I mean its not a thick glass like my old Rudeboy and HT Showerdome...but it works great with the solo...works letter better with the LSV but it might be me.
The BL is a cheap bubbler.
The one I have my eyes on is $200 more and the glass is 7mm thick.

For the price point the BL works good (in my case).
I use the SOLO's a lot with water path and use the BLACK LEAF mostly.
I wanted a LSV or VRIP however my SOLOS get me so medicated as it is.

Man you don't think so? Arizer would be crazy not to redesign the solo, its only a matter of time imo. Until then I'm extremely happy with my solo the way it is, the folks at Arizer know what they're doing. :whoa:

oh im not saying with certainty that they arent. i just dont want to start any rumors. its pure speculation.

This is super, the reason many of us are here (having sorted this all out for our personal use....or at least enough of it to go with).

Not only can you save 60 or 70% on your weed bill (assuming you don't go hog wild like many of us....), and enjoy it more, but you get to live longer to enjoy it.

A pretty hard combination to beat IMO.

Welcome to the Forum and a better life!

Gentle Friends,

Yesterday I published some data I'd collected using a VV PA measuring cycle times at 3 step settings for two different voltages:

At 7.5 Volts in, step 2, 4 and 7:
5.2s/13.5s *** 28%
6.2s/11.2s *** 36%
8.0s/09.6s *** 45%

Going to 8.5 Volts gives:
4.6s/16.1s *** 22%
5.3s/13.8s *** 28%
6.8s/11.7s *** 37%

After some head scratching I think there's some useful insight in there in the 'strange' off time numbers. What I think is going on is while the heat up time (on time) is subject to not only how hot you need to go (step) but also to how much power is developed due to the voltage. Notice that the on times for the higher voltage at any give step, I think this is why.

However, the off time is straight cool down (power has nothing to do with it directly). Higher temperatures loose heat faster so the off time is shorter for higher temperatures (the opposite of on time trends), you need to fire up the furnace again sooner for that reason. However, notice that the off times are longer for the higher voltage......

Why? This can't be a direct function of power (there's none used when it's off). The obvious answer is it's heating to a higher temperature. It therefore takes a few seconds longer to cool off enough to trip reheat. In HVAC this is called "anticipation". In your house when you shut the furnace off as the living room gets hot enough there's still more heat in the furnace body the fan is going to deliver before shutting down, that is the temperature will 'coast up' from already stored energy. In your home thermostat you'll usually find a little heater inside the housing the tech adjusts to compensate for this. Often this an open frame adjustable thing with a funny scale on the back plate with a slider to do the adjustment.

In the Solo case I think this is a single point correction 'dialed in' from the initial calibration. Most likely with an average charge state on the battery? When we drive it harder (like with a fresh battery or a PA which is more powerful than that) it 'coasts' further so actually spans a slightly larger range of temperature as it cycles.

Fun stuff.....at least to one of us.

Greetings everyone.

My Solo was delivered to me earlier today, but due to exams I won't be able to enjoy it for another 2 day's time. I couldn't refrain from unboxing and charging it, just to make sure everything works, but unfortunately there's one thing that's bugging me. It's been charging for over 5 hours, but the green light keeps blinking, and doesn't go solid as the manual indicates. For most of the time only the #1 LED is burning, and every now and then all 7 go on, before going back to just the one burning. I assume this is normal, but for the past 4 hours it's indicated (with the 7 LEDs) that it's fully charged, yet it's never reached the point where the green light stays solid. How should I interpret this? I'm certain that it's not a sign of a problem, but I just don't like that it's not the expected behavior.

Extra note: when I turn it on, first the one #7 LED turns on, followed by the first 6 turning on. If it was fully charged, would I expect all 7 to light up?

ive been looking for one & dont have one...i wanna know how to manipulate the buttons & what all the lighting means also...

thx!

I would contact the seller while it's still new, my lights all function as the direction say. I would take it as a sign that something is wrong, why chance it crapping out in a few weeks.

OF, I enjoy data even if I don't understand it at the time so that's 2 of us.

Apple's clearly lagging here. Probably waiting on the part of the App that uses your GPS location to rat you out to the Feds in real time......

PlanetVape has a Solo manual PDF for download under the attachments tab of their Solo page http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-vaporizer.html. Sorry, I can't direct link it.

18mm. The mouthpiece is 14mm. You can see in the photo, the MP is the smaller of the two.

Yeah Arizer should work out a deal with PV and make a massive amounts of PVHES :)

Hi,

What temperatures do the heat levels represent for the latest model (M1A4) on the solo?

50
185
190

Two ideas. First off you can get the 14 and a 'reducer' bushing with no sacrifice in performance.

Or, if you can't deal with the wait any longer you could do what I did before I got mine, put a short piece of hose (or even a rubber band) on the adapter that came with the Infamous Bubbler then put the end of the bent stem of your Solo over the end of the tube making a seal and vape away. Clear it by pulling the Solo off. It takes two hands, one for the IB, the other for the Solo, but luckily you have two?

FFS, you can use the solo with the infamous as is. I piece of 1/4" tubing right to the extra piece like OF said works perfect and you don't need any hands. I lay it on the bed if I use it that way. You can then just use your hand to lift to clear. You don't need a gong with any bubbler unless you are going to use them a lot. I don't have a gong and more the likely never will. You can also use 1/4" tubing connected to 1/2" tubing to mate without the extra piece. If yours is a bit big then just add another piece to make it wider on the 1/2".

You can also just get the 14" and a reducer although that I am not sure if it works but in my head it does.
