Is that getting you where you need to be? It seems like such a small amount? I have to give that a shot.
It works well for me. My nuggetry is high quality, but nothing special. My tolerance is quite high compared to my (combusting) friends, although I only use .5g a day via this method. I believe some of the medical users on here refer to this as "micro dosing" and do something similar in even smaller quantities.

I saw black o-rings around here, but I'm not sure about their heat resistance. I'm trying to find the orange ones, but can't find them.

The orings are used in facets they are designed to get plenty hot. Also used around water so they must also be nontoxic. Bought mine for $3 at home depot

I decided to stop cleaning my stem so often this year so i can get a significant buildup and future reclaim yield...

We calls her Ol' Drippy... lol as you can see that big drip has made its way down into the GG part, which is further than any drip has made it before... exciting! I think i'll keep going until it gets close to goin in the downstem lol I keep the business end clean tho, by brushing it out after every load with the wire soldering brush tool seen in the background. and the airflow isn't effected at all since nothing seems to ever build up around the 4 holes in the glass or between them and the screen (im guessing because that areas too hot to condense) The stuff around the tip is from vaping goo tipped stems

I have to say: :love:I LOVE FC!!!
You guys helped me so much over the past weeks, I'm really grateful for that.

Yesterday I fixed my stem fitting problem by using the O ring method and it went really well, stems will fit again without falling out!
One minor problem though: the lid won't fit anymore.
I made a short slide clip to show how it is done!
(read the description for the sequence of the pictures)

Also I found a new way of getting my flattened dome screens.
I found that using the screen from tea-strainers like these really helps to make dome screens the easy way. Those tea-strainers come in many different sizes, the big ones are mostly used for mixing herbal teas, cutting up one will give you screens enough to last quite a while.....

This tea screen is extra flexible/bendable, you cut out as much as needed, form a dome using a round headed screw or anything like that and cut the screen to size, put it in your stem and press down the dome slightly with your finger.
Pic01, Pic02.

The weave of this screen is not as fine as other screens shown in this thread but I think it is better this way because the fine weaved screens get clogged more easily, always clean the screen with ISO, do not burn it like you would do using screens for smoking pipes etc.

Awesome all those Pelican cases popping up all over at once, they look like something I would like to to have as well!!!

My custom double lenght pvhes came in the mail today:D

I not sure the exact total I think i ordered some other goodies along with it

How did you get it?

I emailed asking if they'd be interested in making a custom stem and told them the details ( 22 inches length, turbo style bowl, super tight fit if possible) and they answered within a day, I had the option of them fusing together two pieces of glass and getting it to me same week or having them blow a single piece and wait 2+ weeks for when they were doing their next pvhes run I waited for single piece and I couldn't be more happy. I have some ideas to make it better but ill save those for the PVHES XL 2.0 lol

Edit: there's like an "o ring" cut into the exterior of the stem that makes it lock securely in place idk if this is a new feature on all of pv stems or just this one cuz it's so long but its damn ingenious and I wish I had it on my shorter pvhes. Anyone know ?

Cloudy...
I bought an o-ring but it's too thick. If I try to screw the top of the solo it will never screw, it's like it's going to have the thread striped :(

I saw the video and the o-ring is the same, don't know what to do now

Is there some time of burn off I have to do sometimes or is the first one all I will ever need to do? I already got that chemical smell off.

Can you post a pic of this? I know that my PVHES GonG doesn't have a logo and I don't think it has the o-ring you describe. I know they were working on releasing their in-house stems with various upgrades, instead of relying on altering stock Solo stems, maybe these are the first releases of those updates?

im not so sure that plumbing orings are designed to get as hot as they will in our application. we are talking over 400 degrees. i dont think your tap water is getting that hot ;).

my guess is that the plumbing orings will eventually start to dry or crack, but this may take a long time. if you really want it to last i would suggest getting the same oring, but in the red high temp silicone.

ive got the black plumbing oring in my Solo now and will be keeping an eye on it.

Awesome, they should make all stems like that!

Did you look to get the right size?
The thickness should be only 2.4 mm.
There can be some tolerance in sizes as there are many and some shops only have some, so I'd say stay between 13.5 /14 mm wide x 2.4 or 2.5 mm thick.
Mine screws back on without any problem!

The O ring sits on top of the isolation surrounding the bowl so it hardly gets hot and for sure nothing like 400 degrees!
I did 2x a 12 mins on 7 just to see how hot it would get but it didn't at all.
Also I have checked several times just after doing a stem on #4, also nothing irregular there.
Those black rings are made of Nitrile.
If possible I will get the red one as well, just to be on the safe side!

I feel like I may be using mine wrong. I usually start on 3 or 4 and work my way up to 6. It usually takes me a full 12 min session for one stem. Should I be going to 7?

pokalolo nailed it. i run mine on 2 until it stops producing vapor. which is usually around 3 or 4 12 min sessions. then i bump it to 3 to finish it off. usually get 1-3 12 min sessions from that.

i only use 4 or 5 when using glass. i cant see myself ever using 6 or 7. and for the record i get amazing clouds when using setting 2.

You must have amazing lungs, I never get amazing clouds not on 2 nor even on 7 because if I try it on that temp the taste has become so bad that my throat just can't take it!!!
I mostly have it on 3 when using just my flexible stem, but when I use any of my bubblers' it has to go to 4/5 because of the water cooling the downstem, so more power is needed than.
To vape with just the stem on higher than 3 is out of the question for me because of throat issues, somehow my throat is very sensitive to hot air.
Never had the problem while still smoking.

I think it might have something to do with the restricted airflow too, you suck all that heat like a milkshake directly to a certain point of your throat. Maybe someone with a PVHES sem noticed that the irritation on that is less because you can apply a lighter draw?
