Oh my I don't think I can but will try. It is already harsh for me and I am using the straight or the water when it gets to much. I still only use the water on 4 then maybe go to 5 but I find that about 4 hits and it is done to gross tasting. Also even on that low level I can end up combusting a little which is really gross.

lol you can't combust with the solo even on 7. You have an different idea of what a good taste is is all.

Wow really but the herb was black when I did I think was either 6 or 7 first day I got the bubbler. It can be black without combustion? Yes the taste bothers me when it tastes burnt but the popcorn burnt taste is ok depending on the strain and I can do a bunch of strains twice through the stem or the INH capsule.

I vape mine on 7 if using a water piece, never had any combustion with the solo so far myself.

But I find you get less flavorful hits , like maybe 3 good tasty hits with dense vapors .
Then I have to switch stem, at level 6 though , I can usually get 6 to 7 good hits before
switching stems . ime

it may look black but its just really really dark brown. No combustion should be possible with the solo. I think everyone will agree.

If it was combustion, there would be white in the bowl (ash), your whole stem would gunk up in like 3 stems (and smell like ass), and it would taste like a bushfire
Also, it's kinda hard to mistake the thickness of smoke compared to vapor...

Oh Fred I guess you explained it best. Thanks all I guess it was just really dark black looking and tasted gross but not combusted. I will attempt 7 again but it just may not be my thing. I did 4-5 before and that was satisfying and came out dark brown from very green. I did run it the full 12 mins but I don't take huge hits but do take many.

Yeah, at 7 my ABV comes out essentially black, but I know it hasn't combusted.

If you ever try combustion again, you'll notice a very distinct ashy/smokey dirtiness to the flavour of the smoke, with an underlying hint of the sweet sweet taste of herb you get when vaping. It's a very clear line to cross IME.

Having said that, if you don't like the taste at 7, stick with what you like
All the more leftover goodies for edibles/ABV concentrates

I can get the ABV much MUCH darker and more extracted than my Cloud. BUT, ONLY if I use the Solo through a water tool for some reason. It gets near blackish, but as mentioned, NEVER combusts.

Thank you all I now clearly understand the difference and can never go back to combustion cause it is gross. You all ruined me it is even an option anymore. I tried after going through the learning phase and just vaping and then tried to smoke a month later and couldn't. I got something different from smoking but that is ok.

@glthegamemaster My solo and I had a huge fight when I first got it. Yes I fight with inadimate objects. The stem is a bitch to put in but it has to be in to work. Your stem is so far out it may as well be in the box. I bet you are going to laugh about this when you get it working. I get very good vape on 3 my preferred level.

So I don't think this stem is hot chocolate ready but it is so bothering me lol. What do you think?

are you using a screen in there? My stem looks similar and I've only had my solo since last tuesday (bent stem used exclusively). It's at the point now that I can barely even draw through it. Not sure if it's because the screen is dirty (too sticky to brush out) or if the reclaim is starting to clog up those holes.

I do have a screen but I take it out to remove the pieces. I haven't put fire on it i just rub it off. If it gets bad I just chuck it in the iso and grab another one that is in the iso. I don't use the vape exclusively and it is more then likely no more then two weeks without cleaning. I also use the straight sometimes but that was just cleaned. I am using the bent to see how bad I can deal with making it . I switch vapes depending on my mood and needs. When I go out it is almost always the INH.

Could be reclaim buildup. Pull your screen out, hold it with fingernail clippers and torch it, when red hot blow out and blow air through to thoroughly clean a clogged screen. That being said, I posted a pic of my Dirty stem(about 2weeks from last cleaning) a page or 2 back, and I haven't cleaned my screen since I cleaned my stem. There may be particles stuck in the glass holes of the stem preventing airflow possibly. So if you pull out your screen you should be able to tell what your actual problem is. The stem being dirty wont affect airflow at ALL(unless of course there was nothing but oil in your stem with no visible way of air traveling through)

Took my Solo and VB hydrator with me out of state to go get tattoo'd today(happy bday sailor Jerry!!). No one at the shop had seen such a device and all that tried were amazed by the potential of a portable vaporizer. Hydrator was a no-go because I left my 18-14mm adapter at home, so they missed out on that wonderful experience. However I did turn at least 2 of the younger people there onto FC and they seemed eager to check our community/way of life out! Successful day in my books!!

I remember that "yellow" stem...how long was it before you cleaned it to get that oily? I bet you would like a stem that is so oily you can use it

Yes it needs to be cleaned .
You can see a layer of brown ABV in the stem .
You should try to scrape it off , it could be the cause of clogging .
And if your screen is " sticky " , you probably have resin built up on it .
Soak it in iso , and re-use .
In fact , if you don't need to reclaim , just soak the whole stem in iso for cleaning .

I load 3/4 of a stem [with bud] and then add the oil on top. Then take the first hit with the solo upside down so the oil doesn't fall into the chamber. I've dne this a few times, which is probably why my screen got so sticky

OK guys I think I found a cheap power adaptor for the solo

The slim PS2 adapter seems to fit the specs and offers even more mA than PV's offering...the only problem is that the head connector might not fit the solo but that's fixable

Specs : Input: 100V-240V - 1.5A 50/60 Hz Output: 8.5V - 5.65A
Compared to the official one the only different is 5.65A to 5.00mA

Bought one for 7.58$ including shipment!

Hey Mosh, yes this has been discussed earlier in this thread (WAY earlier)... Samsquanch was successful in creating this mod with the slim ps2 adapter on my original m102.

what do you mean by mod?
he changed the head connection? (that is basic work for an electrician)
The power supply fits the tech spec at 100%

Hmmm...OK but I'm looking at the specs of the ps2 slim adapter, they might used a different ps2 adapter?
Looking specs wise, there should not be any problems unless its not really 8.5v @ 5.65mA
I'll ask my co worker tomorrow if we can sample the adapter at our office...I gave him the specs and he said the more mA the better.

But did the solo died as well or was it just the adapter?


EDIT: this is a pic of a ps2 adapter and not ps2 slim adapter, different voltage...plus the PS2 IMO should use more power than the solo...
