first sesh with the new m107 and it seems to be working just fine. A bit of the "new" smell, I wiped out the hot core with a dry q-tip and let it burn off a bit. So far so good, I'm going to keep using it in battery mode for the next few days, make sure it's all working right, but so far it's a and I am having that new solo giddy feeling, I didn't expect to get. I really like the black shell.

Just got my solo in the mail and am pleasantly suprised with how hefty/sturdy the unit feels. My only problem is, I'm really confused because I set the unit to the desired heat, it heats up and the heat light blinks, then once it stops blinking and is at what I'm assuming is the proper temp for the setting, it doesnt go more than 10 seconds without the heat light coming back on to blink. It stops blinking again and then the process repeats.

What does this mean? Did I get a broken unit or is it just something as simple as the unit noticing very minor heat changes and this is just normal.

About Solo rubber connections: This one I used fits perfect for 18 mm. If you use a 14 mm one it helps "sitting" the vape and sealing the conduct but you have to hold it while you vape.

Just modified my own stems with an engraving tool, and used an extra screen fro. My EQ And cut it down to fit.
I saw some shady PVHES and figured id just go diy. I got some good pic ill post in a sec.

Nice job, how did it affect the airflow and the concentration of your vapor in the Solo?

there is an improvement in flow but to keep the same concentration i have to go to 4. Especially cause I use mine outside most of the time and its quite chilly this time of year in the mitten state.
Personally i dont mind the restriction of flow in the stock stems. I kinda just wanted to try this engraver. and like i said some pvhes ive seen look like a kid made them with a rock. so i figured i could do no worse.
What im most suprised by is how nice my pics looked from my phone.

and when i put the screen in a stock stem it doesnt seem to add any restriction. so ive found myself using the stock straight stem with the screen and loving it.

Quick question, I know its been discussed, buuuutt.... PV GONG PVHES pv REG (non carbed either way)

I let my friend borrow the M1O7 for the night, a lifetime smoker instantly converted So I'm buying him a gift to go along with his M1O8 He really likes the stock stem better than the PVHES,just want to know how it applied to bubbler adpators.

Okay, so I bought this recently and tried smoking like 4 bowls out of it and barely got high. Then, I took a 4 day t break because, well, what the fuck. Smoked another 4 bowls, still not that high.

Don't know what's wrong, everyone says it should be amazing. My weed doesn't go all brown either...like it seems like some of it does but some stays green, idk. I NEVER get vapor either, even when at level 7. The draw is near impossible when I stand the straw straight up, and if I let it lean to the side it's easier but then idk if I'm drawing in air not from the vape. Help?

there in no "smoke" produced, only vapor which is much lighter and noncombustionstinky like smoke. Don't get discouraged, also always fine grind you herbal blend, more surface area more vapor. pack about .2gs

Even when there's no weed in it it's kind of hard to draw on. blugh so lame, I'm actually about to just go outside in the cold and use a water bottle and say screw it, cause the thing just won't hit

EDIT: Yeah I tried packing a grinded bowl, letting it sit there and warm up, then taking a bit but I got a LITTLE bit of vapor, then I got shit in my mouth and couldn't hit it anymore. Idk

Is this your first vaporizer?
The airflow from your Solo is quite different than otherwise and it is a bit harder to draw.
You can put a domed screen on the bottom of the stem which will improve airflow by a little and keeps the 4 holes from getting clogged.
The herb should be grinded quite fine but not powder! Can be packed quite tightly but not too tight, air should be able to pass through.
Normally at #4 or #5 you should get vapor but it doesnt start vaping straigt away.
First the glass has to heat up and the herb inside the chamber as well.
After about 60 secs of inhaling several times, the vapor should start showing.
Also, for reference, you can watch some YouTube videos that explain the workings of your Solo!

What will be much harder to replicate are those 'micro tubes" inside the PVHES stems by PV.

Are you sure it's getting hot? If it is, the bowl end should be too hot to touch after sitting in the solo for a few minutes, maybe like 5. If it's heating up are you drawing slowly through the stock stem? You can get a better draw if you raise the stem slightly. Some people here like the greater air flow from other stems. Also be sure youre not packing it too tight. A little fluffy is good.

I do like you sometimes because I can get more hits that way but it tastes better if finely grinded and small charges help vaporizing perfectly. With whole nugs you always have the bottom part much more vaporized and the flavour is less intense but lasts longer.

I'm guessing he'll like the regular gong better than the pvhesgong too due to thicker hits. Like me, he may not prefer the approx. 30% extra airflow because it thins out out the hit. Although I haven't tried the gong, I have used the pvhes and reg stock stems themselves with glass, and prefered the stock. It could have been due to being lucky with "goog" stock stems though because I know there are variances.

Yup. The glass gets hot as hell and even the air I'm drawing is hot, I can feel it. I tried raising the stem slightly but didn't work either. And yeah I just throw a little in there and try it. Idk, faulty unit I guess? :/

Yep I guess that's what I did few days ago...

The new solo is just as good my older M107...perhaps the temperature is even higher? (that's better)

You got the normal GoNG correct?, either get the PVHES GoNG or pull your stem just 1-2cm higher from the heat chamber...that would increase your airflow...I did that a lot with my stock stem when I was in Amsterdam just now...infact, this is just as good using PVHES but "more" work to it...

Did you get the PVHEGong or the standard 18mm no Carb? I've had both, the High Efficiency has no restriction at all but with that being said the standard wasn't too bad. Especially with a mobius ION - that should reduce the drag. Are you maybe packing the stem to tight? Is your bud real dank and moist? All of these things could have an effect on your pull.

Edit - When I had the standard with Carb I hated it cause that fucking carb gets hot as hell after a few sessions in a row.
