I'm sure this has been asked before, so I searched, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.
I love my Solo, but sometimes the hits are a little too dry, so I started attaching a whip tube to the end of my solo stem and using it that way. The only issue now is that the glass stem is kind of long. Does anyone make a super short glass stem specifically for using a whip with the Solo?

Has anyone ever had to pass the SOLO as something else when getting asked what it was? If you have of you had to, what would you say the SOLO is and pass it off as?

You could try shooting them a message asking when they'll be back in stock.
I sent them a message about GonG PVHESs the other day, and they listed them on the site that afternoon
It was probably more of a coincidence than anything, but it was cool none-the-less
Another option for a shorter stem is to use a dremmel cutting wheel to shorten a stock stem.
I've done that a couple of times, and it works pretty well. I just torched the edge with a jet lighter to get rid of any sharp bits
You'll need to be careful (wear eye protection at the minimum) and it's fairly easy to screw up and junk the stem, but you'll end up with a shorty
ive owned my solo for 3-4 months now, and recently (within the past week) ive noticed a slight "clicking" noise a second or two after i take my draw. has anyone else out there experienced this or know if i should be concerned? its only audible if theres no noise in the background or if i put my ear near the open end of the stem :S

I'm pretty sure it's actually 8.5v, I'm not sure why it says 9v on the bottom of the solo 
I have one sitting right here, output is 8.5v @ 5A

Does the Solo also work without the battery pack in the unit?
When my stems are dirty and nice and hot, I've heard the oil residue making noise
Either cleaning the stem or using the stem when its cold removes that noise.
I've stuck it in a Styrofoam cup with lid and passed the straight stem through the top like a straw and walked around an outdoor flea market. I heard a few comments about smell but ran the unit on 3 so clouds weren't really an issue. For what they knew - I could have been farting burnt popcorn!
I've had my units forever and have never heard anything like that - the biggest concern is that there aren't any moving parts in the device. The only thing I could think of is you may have some dried up old ABV stuck under the lid. Have you tried unscrewing the top and shaking it out? I do this every few stems and you would be suprised how much shit falls in there.

I live in a non med state and when people see it and comment I'm usually discreetly hitting in my car. So I just say it's one of those devices that you have to blow into to start your car lol.
You can pass the Solo as either a portable battery pack or a portable heater pack (i.e. hand warmer, etc). You can also say something stupid like its a medical condition I don't want to talk about.
I usually put it in a drink cup or I cut the bottom off a 20oz drink bottle. Tuck the Solo in either one and use the straight stem.
BTW, if you ordered it from PIU on say Tuesday, I'd expect it about Thursday-Friday. USPS does work on Saturday but we also had a fed. holiday on Thursday which adds a day to shipping. 8-9 days is about right for you to get it in Canada, a tracking # would help you figure out when it'll be there better

You can use that instead of the battery ....whether your Solo is fully charged or empty .

the tracking stops at the border , then you're left guessing when you will receive it in Canada .
At least it was the case for me ....I don't think our postal services are in communicado .

I gave the solo freaking promotion lol , had guys check it out with a ROOR bong in the cannabis cup expo...
Anyway my solo is a little "fucked" - just a bug with the lights, the idle light wont show up and when I set temp at 5 , 1 is lighted as well... and it start heating on 2... is it fixable? it still works so I'd rather not have to give away even for a day...my precious!!!

hey guys im also hearing a ticking/farting coming out of my solo ... when i bring the solo close to my ear I can hear it clearly but even when its far...this and the power lights bug...could it be connected or all have a noise coming out?
edit: no way ive heard this noise before when I enhale...you know what...in Amsterdam I used it without a screen...with a stock stem I have gotten there...could this just be ABV?
