Arizer Solo

Oh I will go look back for the dock. I don't recall seeing it. I know arzier sells there own charger and I have read if you don't use the one they sell you run the risk of burning up your unit but who knows.

I have the same unit model...m1a3 same as the first. I hope it was just a bad unit and not a new crop of bad batteries which can happen. The thing is that if that is true arizer needs to step in and fix the issue with a new crop of batteries.

I have two model M1A units and have had no battery problems with either of them. If there are bad batteries, I don think you can correlate them to model numbers of units.

Well that is good news maybe. It could just be a batch of solo's that went our or just a few of us lucky people.

Dreamer. You got one bad unit from Puffitup at about the same time I got two good ones from the same place. Thinking would indicate hey came from the same batch so I doubt that your bad one was anything but a fluke. Stuff happens. I think it's only random.

Over the past 12 months, 2 dozen (yes folks over 20) local patients that I am in touch with got a Solo.
They ranged from M107 through the current M@?X__.
I have had not one battery issue here at home with two units, and have seen only one battery issue in this community (yeah, baby..that's you Dreamerr).. and we got our units through the same channels.
It was luck of the draw..
There WILL be a percentage of bad units. Hopefully the % is small.
Sorry the draw landed on you, Dreamerr... if it were "spin the bottle"... the draw would have been a good thing!

Took the Solo and PVHES Bent stem on a little road trip today. I'm always surprised how good the Solo is at direct draw since I rarely use this method. Very cloudy and flavorful vapor.

Thats good to hear. Plus you have to remember, that small percentage that do have a problem are more likely to post about their bad experience, than that large percentage that are too busy enjoying their Solo's.

My Solo made it to PIU this morning, almost exactly 48 hours from IL to CA. I'm guessing the new one will be shipped Monday, so I should get it Wednesday.

BTW, did I mention smoking blows? Had a couple bowls today to keep sane and you really appreciate vapor once you're smoking again.

I need to open a new thread for possible backup vapes, something SUPER simple that'll last me 10 years (no circuit board, battery, etc) without hesitation

Mr get the ssv and if you hang out here to long you will have a bunch of vapes anyhow and more then likely a bunch of water tools as well.

Vito I owe you one and hush....

Leave my lovely tasting solo alone.

i have never used one but.... i have always been intrigued with the Ubie (i think theres a thread for it here, although i have never read it). its small, it's glass and it's cheap enough to not feel so bad if you don't like it. i may have to get one now just to try it

I have specific criteria, one of them being it uses less than 15 amps so I can use it in the car and not blow the fuse to my cig. lighter. The DBV and SSV which I was looking at draw closer to 30-40 I believe.

The other big criteria is variable temp control

I like the EQ but I want my backup to be simple, no LCD display, internal complicated circuit board, etc. The EQ should still be extremely reliable, I'm just paranoid when I see the internals.

The Solo with the power adapter draws 8-9 amps, which is perfect and what I did quite a bit in my car.

A log vape with some sort of variable temp control sounds good, much pricier than $140 for a DBV, and also draws less than 10 amps, disadvantage being slightly longer heat up time but you can't win everywhere

It'll end up coming to what I can find the best deal on, or if something pops up in the classifieds or craigslist I'll snatch it up. Don't think I'll have the spare money for another 3-4 weeks, so its just researching for now.

Finally had a day to relax. Put the Solo through heck today, and capped it off just now with a vapor-lung and another standard stem. Hooked up the charger and it was blue. I can't think of all the times I've vaped today, and I know I've had to grind more cannabis than I've ever ground for vaporizing. I'm completely satisfied with this battery life for sure.

I've toasted 6 stems since dinner and just recharging now - I have no complaints about the solo battery. I think I favor my nugz a little on the dry side with the solo. The flavor is a bit nicer when moist but based on the solo's temps I get where I need to be a bit quicker on the dry side.

I've been lurking on this site for awhile now getting great info, this is my first time posting. Not an expert on vaporizing at all, but I've had a whip style box vape for awhile and want to upgrade. I'm really confused about the solo, here's my situation: I've had a hot box for awhile and decided it was time to move up in the world. I was interested in the solo because it seemed to have rave reviews and also the bonus of being portable. I ordered one and anxiously awaited it's arrival. When I got it, I was confronted with the "robot fart" smell which I wasn't expecting. The smell concerned me and I had to send it back. I looked into it a little and saw some posts on here mentioning the air path for the solo may not be safe due to various issues possibly contaminating the air path, like the air passing through circuits or off gassing from the battery. Is this anything to be concerned about or is the solo safe? I'm not sure if I should order another and hope for better luck as far as the smell goes, or if there's a different vape I should set my eyes on. Any suggestions or insight would be wonderful. I'm looking for something that provides good quality vapor with the safest air path possible, portability is preferred.

That smell goes away very quickly. The Solo IMO is completely safe and has great flavor.

mvapes it seems that you have your SOLO's dial in?
I own two of them.
One I love and it is my daily driver for flowers.
My newer one is kind of a LEMON.
I was thinking about taking it apart and see if I could change the battery?
Maybe It is only a faulty battery?
Or should I buy a plug in adaptor and use it as a plug in unit?
Worse case is just toss it and find something else.
However my older unit is like brand new still and taste incredible.
I love the SOLO just need to fix my LEMON.

"pvhes" I was thinking about trying however there are so many offerings I did not no which one to try?
Turbo?
Short?
I don't know which one is best?

I agree, if you unscrew the top cap you'll see the air simply goes in from the top, and comes out from those 4 little holes in the bowl into the stem and into your lungs.

The smell goes away after 7-10 minutes of turning it up to temp 7.

Don't think it can get any safer for a portable, the electronics look completely separate and are on the bottom half of the unit, and it goes from SS bowl to glass stem to lungs.

All other portables don't have a full glass on glass airway, one of the reasons I got the soloto begin with.

What about swapping the batteries? especially if you have 2 units, take them both apart and swap and see what happens. Could be a battery issue could be something else. unscrew top cap, open 4 screws on the bottom, take battery cover off with small screwdriver, and unplug. pretty easy to swap if you're handy.

took myself about 10 mins max to remove the battery. it may void the warranty so be warned.

Could also send it to Arizer as it does have a 2 yr warranty, no point in tossing it. The power adapter works great though, I have one and I used to charge the Solo once a day, after the PA it dropped to every 3 days that it needed a charge at the same level. It also seems to heat up quicker?

Lefthook, does it still work fine and the led's are acting up? maybe you dropped it somehow? Theres a circuit board behind those led's which could get damaged if you drop it and hits the ground the right way
