spend a little more and get one of these instead.

these? which?

anyway, I decided to go for the pipesdaddy bubbler for the time and see how it goes while also waiting for the wooden and high flow stems... Anyone got a coupon code maybe? :p

oh and... no more "spending" here! :)

9-10 cycles and you're frowing? Most of us get 5-7, albeit at higher temps.

my friends Solo lasts at least 25% longer that mine at the same temps.
We have both a m107ss, bought the same day at the same shop.

I just wanted know if pre-made batteries for the Solo are sold somewhere or not!

Oh shit where did my link go =P. It was the two bubblers that planetvape sells. They are like $80 and nice quality.

I just opened up my Solo M105, can anyone educate me on the glue I see where the wires are connected to the circuit board?

When the Solo is in use, that area will get hot from the batteries, and air is drawn over it.

from vaporpedia: The circuit board uses a high temperature silicone solder as opposed to metal based solders.

I can only guess what you are seeing is the silicone solder...

Question for anyone that may know, as I can't seem to find it documented anywhere: What size is the connector tip for the Solo adapter? I'm relatively sure its 4.75 x 1.75 but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Well I don't know as I said, only could think it was that. Maybe the silicon solder does not conduct(I mean if the wires are connected then the solder used should not necessarily conduct itself)?

Maybe someone else can chip in that knows how this solder should look like

It's not solder, it's some sort of non conductive bonding material, I think we'll only find an answer if we ask arizer.

I'm NOT slamming Arizer, simply sharing my recent warranty experience regarding a nearly new (1 month old) m107.

My unit developed a "ticking" sound which you can read about a little back in this thread. It didn't affect functionality whatsoever, but none of my other Solo's (including another m107) had this issue, and no one in this thread chimed in to say they had the same problem. I recorded it and emailed arizer service with 2 sound clips clearly illustrating the sound.

I shipped it express and was notified within 2 business days (as promised) that they did hear the sound, took the unit apart, cleaned it, put it back together and said that the sound was now gone. I was a little puzzled because I am extremely meticulous about keeping things clean, and I treated the unit like gold and always cleaned it. So i'm not sure what they could have cleaned, but whatever. I asked Kevin why this happened, or if it would happen again, or if there was anything I could do to prevent it from happening again. He said if I had any other problem to contact him again and I was quite content with that.

I received a shipping email with a note saying "NO PROBLEM FOUND", which kinda contradicted them acknowledging the sound to start with, but no big deal. I was excited to get home and see if the sound was indeed gone. I open up the box and see that their is ABV on the top of the Solo! I unscrew the cap, and see that there is vaped and unvaped weed under it. The unit was kind of filthy. I understand that they needed to test it but their instructions said to clean the unit and that there is "zero tolerance" for unclean units. I sent them a spotless solo, they send me back one that has bits of plant all over it. I found it pretty offensive and disgusting.

I turn the unit on and as I thought, the ticking sound is still present. So I emailed service and Kevin very promptly replied back apologizing and explaining that they had to "test" the unit, and then forgot to blow the "dust" off. They said the sound doesn't affect functionality (true) and is not covered under warranty. Nice.

I'll be putting up the Solo in classifieds shortly. Just wanted to share my experience.

I have rethought my position on the Solo.
A local head shop owner tried this and did not like it, so he sold it to me for $50.
I decided to give the Solo a second chance.
While previously I did not like it in the least.. I have developed a liking for it... just not as a patient/handicapped person friendly portable.
I discovered that I love it as a small home vape, for a short session by the TV.
What has made it tolerable is two discoveries (*note.. one main reason I did not like the solo, is because I hate "workarounds").
I still dislike this as a portable, but here is what has made it seem better for me.
Below, you can see that I added a screen. I find that now, no matter how fine the herb, it does not get past those two holes... and also the added restriction, gives me thicker hits, with darker resultant ABV

I also then used the stopper for the heat port to stabilize the stem to reduce the wobble a bit, and provide some feeling of security.
DSC01461.jpg

I still do not like that the stem can pull out and drop in your lap if you are not careful...
I also don't like when herb falls into the heat port.... I can suck it out, but there are always more crumbs.
BUT at least I am having an open mind about the Solo, in that I will likely keep this one!

Vitolo, have you tried "capping" your fresh load with another SS screen? I use that method, and I get very few crumbs in my heat chamber, and the taste doesn't get spoiled as quickly since there is not plant material touching the heat chamber. I just have a slightly domed screen that I pop in on top of a fresh load, and it sandwiches it with the inside screen. Doesn't seem to hinder anything, and it's a big deal once you get used to doing it.

Vito, I find that a tamp with my pinky to compress the load slightly keeps it from hitting the heatport which provides better tasting (IMO) hits due to the absence of conduction that would otherwise occur. I also happen to use one of tintest's screen during home use which helps as well.

I've never had a loose-fitting stem, so I don't know how that would annoy me.... but I'm sure it would. I mostly use now Planet Vape's GonG stem and rip it through a bubbler.

I'm glad you're keeping an open mind towards the Solo. It is not my main vaporizer, but it does get its use when the occasion calls for it. I like to have it in my quiver.

Nowadays I always hold the bent stem as a pipe and the Solo as a lighter. Picked it up from another member who mentioned it and it really is much more comfortable. No specks falling in the ss bowl this way and as I am holding the stem on one hand and the solo on top of it, I also twist the solo around so that the hot air from the small holes moves through different paths through the herbs. Also reduced the force of my pulls and now on 7 I can finish my bowl (about 0,05g inside) in about 4 long slow hits and the ABV gets the best dark brown I have seen!

hey Vito.

Congratz.I can see now why you will be impressed by the new wooden stem thats on its way:) .its sure to be a better fit for sure. The earlier glass from Arizer was a bit hit and miss.Thankfully they sorted that out with the new 4 hole stems. they are a much better tight fit .planetvape have them and they are v reasonable.the airflow is better in the new stems also

From What i can gather you have a two holed stem and also a loose stem.It sounds to me like you may have an older model Solo.

Some of older models from serial numbers M104 back suffered from a loose stem and/or flaking ceramic peeling inside the heat chamber bowl and some were even emitting a plastic burning smell in the airpath.

If you have an older model and it has any of the issues above contact Arizer and they will swap youre faulty solo for a brand spanking new M107:D

the serial number will be on the base of the Solo.please look and let us know let us know what series you are using.

I think now that the feeling is among some the community is that the solo has come of age and is coming out of beta.I would nt like you to base your e judgement on the solo just yet if its not the most up to date model and formost I would nt want you to detriment youre health with any of the issues associated with the earlier solo models.
Great to see you here. Its a shame the owners of the Solo aren t here to welcome you.

One little tip for you ifyou decide to take it out and about.Slip a magic flight battery cap over the end of the stem bowl if you want to stop youre vape session midway through a bowl.

Pls try a m107 model Solo if you get the chance.Saying all this about issues,my unit is an old M103 and it throws out sweet vapor every time:D TC

I have gotten in the habit of sucking fresh air through the tube after the load is done to cool it off before i put the MF cap on it for storage. Twice now I have gotten so baked that I put the wrong end in my mouth and end up with a mouth full of duff!

this is what I also do but after each hit. I mean the fresh air sucking... I have noticed that if I don't empty the stem of the vapor after each hit, the next one will begin with a stinkier taste. what's left in the tube stales very quickly IMHO....

does it also give you wiiiings?

looks/sounds awesome though, cant wait to read some user reviews and maybe pick one up some day.

I got to try one, I really like how solid it feels in your hands, I preferred the curved glass mouthpiece. The best part is the four hour run time, we used it at a Reggae Festival so much fun!
