I'd also be interested in hearing about getting some of these stems made. I have 2 hole models now (which I like) and I switch between 14mm and 18mm glass tubes, so I'd probably buy a couple of each. I wonder if the shipping would be cost prohibitive? PM me if you guys get more info!!!

HTH! and from the base of the crucible to the top of the (outside) cap of the Solo my measurement says 18 mm. I like the depth of the stock arizer stem, but i will experiment with shallower bowls (1/2 the depth).

I finally picked up my replacement replacement Solo yesterday.

It's an M105 again (it's been underway to me for so long, I don't think the M106 was out yet when this was shipped to me).

No paint smell on this one, but I do still smell robotfarts coming from the crucible. Not as bad as with my first replacement unit, & definitely not strong enough to stink up a room like the first one did, but it's still clearly there. I thought there was a faint smell of flux in there before but I couldn't be sure. Right now it just smells like a hot soldering iron, but I've associated it with a hair dryer as well.

I've ran it on it's highest setting for a full battery load last night and again today. At this moment I'm halfway through the 3th battery load & it finally seems to become less noticeable now, perhaps even up to the level where many people would call it just a faint smell. Or am I just getting used to it from sniffing it every 10 minutes? Anyways, I'm still not very motivated to actually try to vape through it. I'm going to give it a few more heat cycles first before deciding what to do with it, but to be honest I'm not really convinced I will ever vape out of a SS Solo at this point.

I REALLY wanted to like this thing since Arizers Steve has been so kind and helpful to me, but I just can't it seems. I just don't get how this is a step up from the flacking ceramic.

I got mine from Super Duper Deals as well. Look like we ordered them at the right time!

I picked up some screens at the headshop yesterday, 5 for $1. They are a little big though so I will prob have to trim em up. Interested in a couple of those stems if you get em made.

Hey guys I ordered mine from Amazon, how do you know which model it is (M105 or 6?) and whats the difference?

M105 and M106 are essentially the same. You won't know unless you ask the vendor which one they will be shipping.

^^ The 105 has a Stainless steel crucible (heater) rather than the ceramic coated crucible that had a history of peeling. Steve @ Arizer indicated that the 105 ran 1 click cooler than a ceramic. The 106 I think they may have gone back to 104 heating settings. The 105 will do just fine if you bump it up one heat level from the 104 ceramic. You're good-sit tight. Start at 4 or 5 and then develop your technique.

It's the nature of the beast. Perhaps the seller noticed the ~$20 gap between them and other sellers and decided to bump up the price.

I don't care if *my* friends, or anyone else, drives and vapes provided they can handle it. I might see here in the summer if I can or not, we have some friends with property that I could do that on. But until then, I won't. I haven't driven high in 14 years, the first and only time I would stop like 500 ft before the stop sign, that told me then and there it wasn't a good idea for me.

seems like a large# of the amazon and ebay guys bumped their prices 20-25. I have a feeling maybe arizer bumped the price. Its would be too weird for it to be random given how widespread the price increases seem. There are a still a few places selling for under $170 on ebay. Either that or they are raising back up after xmas season sales.

I never had any problem with ordering 2 Q's and 4 solos from ebay and amazon. I used to buy vapes from the headshop and got ripped off and got bad recommendations on products. I had a bad customer service experience with one of the forum sponsors and ever since then tried amazon and ebay and bought based on price because I certainly wasn't getting service or support from the vendors for my extra $$$. especially now that it is clear arizer is honoring warranties from everyone. They didn't even ask for a receipt for warranty exchange.

BTW: and that was a joke from da ape. Da ape was the one who said he needed a bunch of stems preloaded as it was hard to dump and load new stems while driving down the road

Glad your enjoying the solo. I'm currently enamored that my solo stems slides right into my 14.5mm down stem once you remove the ash catcher bowl. would get denser hits with a gasket or some tape on the end of the solo stem but the GONG connection is damn effective.

So I tried the Solo yesterday with a grip of my friends. I will admit I was a little nervous of how it was gonna go being as how there were at least 6 people. I was also curious as to what they all were going to say about it looks wise and all. And actually, they were all mind fucked and impressed. They thought that this little thing was badass. They knew absolutely nothingg about vaporizers or vaping, and they smoke every single day lol. Most of the comments after they hit it were "damn, how much was this?" Especially after it had been around the roto a few times and everyone was high. They all loved the thing and were asking me questions about vaping in general. I would say this thing is pretty damn user friendly as well. They were eager to work the vape and adjust temp and see if they could tell a difference. Of course they always asked me before doing anything though. But they just wanted to try loading it unloading it etc. Being heavy smokers of weed and cigs, they obviously liked it when they got clouds vs avg clouds. They didn't mind it because they understood that that's how it's supposed to be and they were getting high regardless. They were super impressed as to how long it lasted. I would get comments like "is this the same bowl?" I said "ya". And they would be like "damn or holy shit, we need to buy one of these" lol We vaped some reggy and some chronic (different bowls haha) they said they could definately taste it and it taste good. Which it did, but then I loaded some dodey and they were like damn!, this taste fuckin good. haha It turned out pretty good. It was easy, worked for a group great. Unfortunately, I slept through the entire day of school today so I wasn't able to see what else they had to say at lunch lol Kind of disappointed, but oh well, Ill find out monday. Plus I'm eating firecrackers this weekend haha Feel free to ask about anything if I missed it.

I have 4-hole stems. Question is: benefits of straight vs bent; screens or no screens? Do you have to maneuver stem away from the bowl to get enough air to be able to suck in? How could Arizer build a better stem system for the Solo? I personally jiggle the stem around as I'm inhaling to let some extra air get in there and permit me to inhale; with bowl sitting on heated bowl, I can't 'get a hit' like I would expect. I think larger holes in bowl and/or modifications to the stem where it sits on the bowl, to let more air in there. The system is not totally like an Iolite but the Iolite gives nice big hits and this one I have to work for it. (Well worth the work, but ... ) Anything, anyone?

I just now started using a straight stem, I've heard that it's better and I've heard that it's the same. I couldn't tell a difference during use or after but I'm waiting to see how resined it will get. My theory is that the bend in the bent stem catches a lot more resin than the straight. So I'm gonna see how res'd up and how fast my straight one will get. Definitely use screens. I wouldn't even consider not having one. You don't need to move the stem for a better hit. Try a slower draw and puff it a a couple times. Also don't pack your bowls at ALL. I vary my hits during a bowl naturally. Once I load the stem, I wait 15-20 seconds then inhale nice and slow and if necessary, Ill open my mouth a little bit while keeping it on the stem to get just enough air to allow me to drag out my hit even longer, after my hit, I inhale more air and either ghost it or just exhale.
